  1. What do you think holds eliwood and Eirika back in the writing department
  2. In the case of Eirika its her resilience in the face of adversity despite her status as a naive empathetic royal. She resolves herself to ending Grado's invasion even if it comes to bloodshed only to have tragedy strike at every opportunity. Her father dies, the queen of Jehanna is killed, Caellach crushes one of the stones, monsters are turning up everywhere, and Lyon's possession. That scene with her giving up a stone has the girl at her lowest clinging to any possibility to save someone she cares for only to have it backfire sets the stage for my favorite boss encounter in the series. She's incredibly human and her supports only make it better. Marth is a similar case but I think its incredible that he's characterized so well within shadow dragon that makes me care about him and those directly connected to him. Eliwood is such a charming character he's on the lower end of the political spectrum in comparison to other lords but it benefits his down to earth nature. Eliwood's strength comes from those who stand by him and serves as the rock for the elibe trio not allowing hector or lyn to waver his unyielding faith and amiable personality make him stand out to me. It helps that he's also one of the dorkiest lords in the series thus far. Tldr: All 3 of them are empathetic and amass strength for it and even if its takem advantage or tragedy befalls they perservere and get the job done.
  3. Guess I'll give this a go I think Robin and the things related to him such as grima and the grimleal are some of the most interesting things in the series even with little focus it had in Awakening I consider Marth, Eirika and Eliwood the best lords out of all the fire emblem games I like the avatar system and it isn't indicative of what makes a bad character that falls squarely on how they are written I can't explain it but the biggest issue of fates is that it lacks a soul in comparison to all of the other games in the series Shadow Dragon is a good game Kris and Corrin are equally awful Roy is pretty great if only the game didn't screw him over with such a late promotion Only being able to support with 5 characters is baffling Sometimes it seems like the disdain for Awakening and Fates comes from outside elements rather than the games themselves which isn't fair
  4. Red Units: Alfonse, Young Tiki, Celica, Seliph, Eliwood, Eirika, Ike, Black Knight, Masked Marth, Ryoma Blue Units: Bride Caeda, Camus, Lukas, Clive, Ephraim, M!Robin, Brave Lucina, Effie Green Units:Minerva, Fae, Hector, Nino, B!Ike, F!Robin, Summer Tiki, Performer Inigo Colorless Units: Clarisse, B!Lyn, Jaffar, Summer Frederick, Bride Cordelia, Performer Olivia, Kagero In total 33 five stars
  5. All of these units look great but I'm probably going for Roy or Lucina though I honestly can't decide between the two of them. On the one hand I need a strong infantry blue and spur buffs are pretty tempting on the other hand Wada Sachiko did the BOI so much justice and he's gonna be disgusting with horse buffs, galeforce, and dancer. God this is worse picking a starter
  6. The plot stopped working for me the moment they tried making Mikoto's death seem truly tragic when we only spent a single chapter aware of her existence before dying in the chapter that follows. To pour salt on the wound Mikoto is stated to have known her death was coming by Yukimura and yet there's nothing shown of her trying to bond with Corrin or her step-children before her demise on top of not informing Corrin of his true heritage but instead has the time to explain their feeling for one of the hoshido siblings. valla curse is dumb
  7. So far my collection of five stars are Peri, Hector, Eirika, and Roy who was promoted using nearly all my feathers much to the dismay of Kagero
  8. What if Lissa was the lord of Awakening instead of Chrom What if Risen derived strength from the malevolence present in the caster or the area they were summoned What if instead of being sent to different points in the timeline the awakening children were sent to alternate realities where even the unthinkable could occur What if the narrative centered on the gen 1 units and put players in control over the children experiencing the world ravaged by Grima's influence
  9. Hello everyone I joined Serene's because I wanted to be a part of all the fascinating discussions about the many aspects of fire emblem. I always heard about fire emblem in passing such as the characters or plot but the games responsible for peaking my interest in the series is sacred stones and the one that secured my love for this series was Awakening, even if I'm not the best at strategy games but like Robin I always manage to pull through by the divine grace of Naga. I can't wait to interact with all the awesome people here
