  1. At this point, I'll take an average game if it's consistent than the mess I'm handed with 3 Houses, Awakening, and Fates.
  2. Let's gooooo, more new characters. You love to see diverse faces in the form of Saphir and the priest man.
  3. Going off the leaks: I assume it's to focus on the supports they're able to write without forcing in. The higher the quantity the more forced a lot of supports become. The list of support options per character are decently flexible so they'll be higher than pre-Awakening + SOV support counts.
  4. Didn't 3H marketing at least TRY to match the Japanese stuff to some degree? Engage's marketing is on a whole nother level of bad. At least NOA seemingly tried to show plenty of the main roster with 3 Houses. All NOA has done is firmly push Emblem Rings and that's it. The wider audience is beginning to think this game has no identity due to them only showing fucking Emblem Rings + Anna snippet. It's aggravating.
  5. Because the english advertising for this game is complete ass and clearly lacks faith. The Japanese stuff has no problem actively showing and introducing new characters. Meanwhile, on NOA's side, when we finally get more non-trailer english footage... it's the only other returning character: Anna. It's so frustrating.
  6. The Jeanne hope (cope) is still alive. I don't care if the remaining recruits are paralogue fodder or something give me more than just this.
  7. I do really hope that we get the deepest Elusia things done before Solm. It'd be a little out of place if we're right in the middle of a hectic bloody war between two of the four notable kingdoms only to be met with Timerra's super cheery "let's have fun!!!" moment. Solm sitting everything out is funnier too.
  8. That's not really likely. Even if they do, we see Hortensia in a different place from her initial encounter so it's already deeper into the game than just Brodia territory. Diamant and Jade's gameplay footage even took place on a snow map without Solm units, Elusia's the only place with snow. We clearly see that we're in Elusia with no Solm units in sight. There's more supporting Elusia coming before Solm than the alternative. We never saw any Solm units fighting in Elusia maps while we see Hortensia's gameplay in a Solm-type map. Solm being lategame desert stuff also aligns with how other FE games did it.
  9. I disagree. Timerra and Solm's exclusion from the Elusian conflict is far too glaring. Elusia has to come first otherwise we'd see Timerra standing side by side with Alfred, Marth, Alear, Diamant, and Alcryst when they were confronting Hyacinth and Hortensia within a trailer. It's more likely that we get Ivy and co. first after handling Brodia's crisis with Elusia then we go to Solm sometime later.
  10. At the very least, Engage will offer a lot of potential for fans to sink their teeth in. Which will happen no matter what. This isn't the first time barebones ideas got thoroughly touched on and talked about (Almyra. I still see AUs and OCs about it to this day). Alear's a really interesting concept and the four kingdoms do have things going for them.
  11. That seems to be the most likely outcome. It'd support Tiki having a whole dragon engage mechanic and where they got the base resources + ideas from.
  12. Funny you say that since just like Smash Bros, the Emblem rings are pretty much confirmed to be spirit copies made in the legendary hero's image. They're not the real hero being dragged out of their continuity. Engage will be a competent enough story because the crossover characters are nothing more than mcguffin items, not full fledged standalone characters that the plot has to acknowledge much.
  13. Al's chances are in the negatives. He has to compete against multiple lords, lordlike chars, and popularity monsters like Camilla in limited DLC spots.
  14. It's narrowed to three possible options: Lumera Emblem (the most valuable option), a weird Alear thing, or a Heroes character. Don't get why they'd keep the Heroes character hidden and not just say "13 emblems". This makes me believe it's a plot detail, it'd explain why the white dragon is so prominent on the box if it's some crazy plot event with Lumera.
  15. The pieces of info we get, such as the relationship chart, heavily imply we automatically go to Brodia as they're in a crisis against Elusia. Solm has no crisis that'd lead to us going to them before Brodia. We don't see Timerra in any Elusia based cutscene even a moment in trailers where we see Marth, Alear, Alfred, and Diamant confronting Hortensia and her dad somewhere with no Timerra. This supports a linear pathway like the leaks were directly saying (a singular linear path).
  16. We do. Not only because of leaks but the cutscenes already piece together a linear story. We have to meet Alfred at the temple and help him in a Firene scramble. Every single time Diamant + Brodia's shown its with Alfred and the Firene crew in our party. Including irreplaceable animated cutscenes. No real reason for Alear to choose either since Alfred's the first to come.
  17. I thought so too until I saw the numbers didn't line up. There's currently 32 or so units and 12 Emblem Rings. The ally achievements wouldn't be limited to just 40.
  18. Unlikely, that would likely be placed in the combat achievements as recruitment takes place over the battlefield. There's 109 of them after all in comparison to the clearly limited 40.
  19. It's only 40 achievements there though and there's already a separate tab of combat achievements for any character usage in battle. It only makes sense that every playable character has a singular basic achievement for a support as they're interchangeable in support and menu stuff.
  20. Whoever thought of that Lumera Emblem idea is a genius. That just feels right and explains why they went as far as putting her on maps. Also apparent sprite inconsistencies. I highly doubt this will be all of our playable cast members. I don't buy the "Jan is Merrin's dog" theory with the name seemingly implying a person in the original language. And the fact that it's only been playable units in the "interested in" part throughout the multiple language trailers. I don't think it's a coincidence that they've only showed the basic retainers, cutscene characters, and auto joinables. It feels like they're saving some surprises and the less marketable characters for later.
  21. Wasn't there an unknown staff/fist unit in the talk to recruit screenshot from the twitter account? That might be a new character not accounted for.
  22. Guess they didn't want to implement a straight up game altering mechanic for the least cared for character and game. Capturing generics would be a massive undertaking for a single ring.
  23. I think this is how it'll go: -The remaining lords are locked in until suggested otherwise. Alm, Seliph, Eliwood, Hector, and Chrom. -Robin, Elincia, Alfonse, Lilina, and Julia are also on the table. Either combined with someone else (Julia + Seliph and Robin + Chrom) or as a surprise way to fill in space. There's some interesting tidbits too. The gacha side emblems will be key to telling us about future DLC plans. I imagine the list of deconfirmed will rise. As of currently going off Marth's set of stat boosting rings: -Caeda, Kris, Navarre, Linde, Merric, and Legion are all out of the running for now.
