  1. Updated the second post with additional resources and links. Let me know if you want stuff added/removed.
  2. Ooh, thanks. I need to update that second post for refs/helpful stuff links.
  3. Stream continued: http://www.twitch.tv/serenesspritingstreams
  4. Gonna quietly stream some splice comp shenanigans for a few, then save the rest for later. http://www.twitch.tv/serenesspritingstreams
  5. I kind of feel like the contrast on them could be upped a little and made more vibrant. It's kind of like going between extremes; FE6 vanilla being too bright, and this version being a little too dull/dark. I do like where it's headed, though. Mind if I tinker? EDIT -
  6. Ephidel, Gale, Hector, Zinc Theme: Black Knight --- [spoiler=COMPETITION RULES - PLEASE READ] The contest theme is optional. The theme is provided as an additional option and is not mandatory. No large "full custom" (made from scratch) areas, parts, or pieces. The final result should be made of and identifiable to areas from the source mugs. If you feel like your entry may be considered "questionable" to others, you are allowed to post work-in-progress screenshots or other visual proof of your process. Only use the given set of mugs; other mugs are not allowed. You may, however, elect to use fewer than the amount of given mugs. (Ex: 4 mugs are given, but you only use 3.) Recommended color limit: 16 (15 on your mug +1 for background). This is rule is flexible, but being cautious with your color count as a general rule of thumb for good pixel art. You are allowed to deviate from the standard FE color choices if you wish to do so, as well. Don't vote for yourself, or I will cry sad tears devoid of mod power. Seriously, if you think none of the other entries are worth a vote, please select the "abstain vote" option. Hosts may enter contests. As a public poll is used as the voting platform, hosts receive no benefits or unfair advantages from running the contest. Only 1 entry per member. However, you may edit your entry while the contest is still active. Please edit your first post, or quote the most recent entry you wish you submit for clarification, or the wrong entry may be submitted for voting. VOTING: A public poll (users can view voted results) will be put up once the entry period has ended. Voting consists of 2 categories: 'Best in Theme' (single choice) and 'Favorites' (multiple choice). 'Winner' is the popular vote for 'Best in Theme' and the runners-up are taken from the most popular two from both voting categories. If there is overlap (e.g. 2nd place is the same participant for both categories), a weighted average of the total votes will determine the remaining runner-ups. The winner of the contest will choose the next theme and a mug, and runners-up will choose the remaining mugs once the theme has been decided. If you have been selected to choose a mug for the next set, please try to limit choices to actual portraits and not shopkeepers, blank/placeholders, or dragon Idoun. PARTICIPATION NOTES: In the past, there has been a lot of conflict surrounding what does and doesn't constitute proper splicing techniques. This is not the venue to repeat that argument (if you're interested in it, please look at old rounds between 50 and 65). Please remember to allow participants the freedom to experiment and find their comfort zone in splicing. Give them votes when you believe they're successful, but do not use their entry as a platform to tell the world what you don't like. If you have any questions or concerns, please PM the current host. --- Deadline: Friday, January 22, 2016

    Utensi

Trying putting a .png at the end of it. That should turn it into a workable image. Also, I'm not sure why you'd need to open it in Usenti when it's already fully framed? If you want to edit it, it would be better to use something like MS Paint/GIMP/PS or some other image editor.
  11. You don't shoot a bow while standing facing straight forward. The bow is drawn parallel to the body, or else it interferes with the movement of the bow, and you sure as hell can't aim with it like that. Furthermore, he's drawing a little low. FE archers actually have fairly good form, and are mostly accurate to how you'd actually shoot a bow (ex: snipers shoot like archers who practice kyuudo). Though, my biggest beef with the archer animations is that the bows don't bend. >:E
  12. Probs. I mean, you only have one entry. >:
  13. *licks you* Seriously, though, join the Smash theme. If you wanna do it the way we did, follow this: > Multiplayer Tourney -- everybody pick random -- SMASH -- first person eliminated has to sprite the random they lost with ---- rinse and repeat until everyone has a character ------- last person standing, follow instructions below > Last Man Standing / Single Player -- put out a team of all randoms (or, if in multiplayer, everybody pick randoms again) -- SMASH -- last one standing is the one you sprite
  14. I was so certain there was a thing about the theme being optional in the rules, but I guess I overlooked it. Amended. Alusq, please bring your entry back.

    Zanryu's Works

yo wb zan so a couple of quick things, since the sprite's mostly okay as it is 1) did a couple tweaks on the face; moved eye up one and brought cheek in a little 2) body is really small and should probs be extended a bit 3) a lot of the body shading seems all right, but is maybe shaded in a way that makes her ribcage/diaphragm area look swollen 4) spaulder is like sticking to her shoulder; move that up and off a little 5) really high boobs, though just as somebody who does have/wear a binder, unless you have like huge boobs, a bind will generally get you quite flat; for somebody like her, who i'm assuming probably isn't a fuckin' d cup, she should be pretty much functionally flat with a proper bind 6) shoulder straps; lower strap on the far side would probably work better if it were going under the armpit instead of underboob; having shit dig into your underboob is awful, and if she's trying to hide her gender, having something under there that'd accentuate a boob rather than flatten it down might not be something she'd want 7) angle on body vs head is kind of awk; body is more forward-facing shading-wise, whereas head isn't
  20. OKAY, SO, LIKE, we've gotten some copyright notices and subsequent video takedowns on account of third-party music stuff played during streams. Twitch: They're more chill about it and will just mute it, so that's fine. HOWEVER --! YouTube: YOUTUBE HATES IT. WE CANNOT UPLOAD IT TO YT. YT WILL TAKE THINGS DOWN AND LOCK OUT OUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT. So, for the sake of possibly continuing this stream channel, PLEASE do not use any music that may be construed as third-party. Basically, if it comes from any licensed artist, and probably has lyrics, don't use it. Game music is usually fine, but anything with a big name attached to it (mainstream pop, rock, rap, etc.) probably won't be. Thanks.
