  1. Guess I was mistaken: Marth apparently isn't promoting at all.

Apparently he can level up to 40, though. He'd better...

unit1_001.jpg Is that what that that image shows? Maybe he'll make good use of that class swap system.
  2. Yeah I just noticed that, I don't play the old FE games, so it's confusing
Yeah, it's definatly Tharcia. It has 'Tharcia' and '776' as the video's Youtube tags. That's what you call mystery solving.

I'm going to try and work out the probability of that happening. After he hit the first time, he had a 46% chance of missing, divide that by 9... so the probability of that happening (missing 9 times in a row) was 5.11 (recuring)%. Something like that.

We can't stop complaining about RNG. If we stopped moaning about RNG then we'd have nothing to talk about except "what character has the sexiest battle sprite" (I say Lyn) etc.

  3. The GBA Fire Emblems are basically a hacked Thracia done thrice in a row with portable-esque graphics and refined mechanics :/

I've been playing Gaiden on the PowerPak that just came--surprisingly, the bank issue isn't bad on the actual NES. It's fun enough, unless you have some issue with old skool games or black sheep games :/

(First paragraph response) Is that a bad thing?

I've been playing Gaiden on 1980-games.com and am enjoying it. I love old skool games more than most modern games, and always have a soft spot for black sheep games - for example, Zelda II: Adventure of Link is one of my favorite Zelda games.

  4. I'm curious, who would you give the boots to?
Canas, because he's cool and would look good in them. I'm sure you would agree.

In Radient Dawn I gave them to Ike because somebody on a website told me to. Can't remember who I gave them to in PoR, I think it might of been someone stupid the first time and the second time it was Gatrie (to help his little problem

Edit: just noticed you weren't asking me :(.

  5. I have FE 7-10 as the actual games, and I have FE 2 (Gaiden) and FE 6 (Sealed Sword) as roms, so that leaves FE 3 (which includes FE 1), FE 4 and FE 5... Out of those three I'd probably say either 4 or 5. I've heard FE5 is the one most like the GBA games - which would suit me since I'm heavily accustomed to them. But then again, people seem to be raving about FE4 so I want to see what all the fuss is about. Actually, it's definatly has to be FE4 for me. I suppose I won't care if it's a bit different to the GBA FE's if it's an excellent game - which at the end of the day, is the only thing that matters. I want to play FE3 too, but I'll wait until I've finished FE DS first. But I won't be downloading any FE roms for a while, since at the moment I'm juggling between Gaiden, Sealed Sword, Sacred Stones and Radient Dawn :P.

  6. true that.

but i'm not really one to fuss about generals anyway.

i don't really like their incredibly low speed stat, even if they're insanely powerful

I'm not the biggest general fan either. Mainly because of their poor movement range rather than the low speed stat. Who needs the ability to dodge things when everything that hits you (physically at least) does absolutely no damage? I love seeing a swordmaster get a flashy critical against one of my generals and then *clink*, no damage. Yes, Mr. Swordmaster that fancy critical looks very impressive, but 3 times 0, is still zero. Unfortunatly their low movement causes them to lag behind the rest of the team, and by the time they've finally caught up with everybody else, there's nothing left to kill ;( - (that's Oswin's dissapointed face).

Anyway, my favorite is Gatrie by far. In my opinion he is miles better than Brom, and Taureono (if it turns out that I've spelt that right, I deserve a prize) comes far too late. Not that Gatrie himself isn't a bad general, he's a very good one.

  7. Apart from the complusary lords and Athos, here is my team:

    • Sain (not amazing, but I want a paladin so I choose him)
    • Lucius (a amazing bishop, my favorite light magic user and helps kill Nergal and the Dragon)
    • Nils/Ninian (a unit that allows you to move again is always a vital part of any team)
    • Rebbeca (speed demon and a killing machine with a bow. Dodges everything)
    • Batre (great axe user. Not as good as Hector and Dart, buts makes an excellent extra axe user. Plus bows are very useful)
    • Rath (another good bow user. Very useful for being so mobile. Plus is the only the only Nomad Trooper in the game)
    • Oswin (effing tank)
    • Guy (another excellent swordmaster who is crticals everything with a Wo Doa)
    • Merlinus (very useful)
    • Priscilla (as well as being incredibly useful as a mobile healer and anima magic user, she is a killing machine. Probably the best anima user next to Nino)
    • Raven (simply amazing)
    • Canas (the only non-Athos dark magic user in the game, and thankfully, an exreamly good one. Also, see username :) )
    • Dart (a killing machine as a berserker)
    • Fiora (all three pegasus knights are very good, but she is my favorite, and the one I always use)
    • Legault (he always gets the fell contract)
    • Heath (the only non-Vaida wyvern rider in the game, and since I like them, I use him)
    • Pent (use him if I can't be arsed to level up Nino, pretty good for a prepromote)
    • Nino (turns into a incredible unit, although it takes a lot of hard work to make her one)
    • Jaffar (although a pre-premote, he usually makes a better assasin than Legault)

  8. When I first played Blazing Sword I found Lucius quite 'hot', until I realised he was a man. I was quite disturbed by that. I had homosexual thoughts without even realising (not like there's anything wrong with that, but my bread isn't buttered that side - I'm butter side up).

    Anyway...

    Lyndis vs Fiora

I got my inspiration for that match-up from a peice of artwork I saw, but I don't think I'd be allowed to share it with people on here.

  9. I made Lute a sage so therefore I made Artur a Bishop. The slayer skill which comes with Bishops is very useful (which is the main reason I chose Bishop over Sage) but also in SS I like one of each type of magic unit:

    Lute: Sage

    Artur: Bishop

    L'Arachel: Mage Knight

    Natasha: Valkyrie

    Ewan: Druid

    Knoll: Summoner

  10. 1: B

    2: B

    3: A

    4: A

    5: D

    6: B

7: D (I'd like to be a staff user because that way I could be useful in the battle and at the same time not participate in fighting so I couldn't be hurt)

8: D (bows appeal to me because I could attack from distance and therefore I couldn't be attacked back)

    9: D

    10: D

    A= 2, B= 3, C=0, D=5

    Woo! I'm Erik :D .
