  1. Vander can become a 6-mov flier without hogging an early Master Seal and can get to where bosses are without Emblem Celica or Sigurd without dying. Give him Momentum to fix most of his offence problems, and he'll be assisting with bosskilling and routing until chapter 12 or so.

Anywho, if anybody is wondering if I'm making any progress into my chapter 13  clear.

Sounds complex. Anyway, what have you got planned for chapter 17? Dealing with Zephia and friends always becomes messy...

I've been thinking of turning somebody into a sniper. Etie can promote into one naturally, but she needs to be deployed and trained for that to happen. Reclassing somebody like Timerra might be an even better solution.

This got me thinking, I'm realizing that on my maddening run majority of my roster are females. I think that Male only LTC might be a bigger challenge. 😄

Hard to say... You get Vander, Kagetsu and SEADALL. Not having a flier early on does suck to be sure.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened there. Couldn't they have just attacked anyway? Or does the ice obstruction prevent that entirely?

Also, the end of that one makes me say, "So ein mist!!"

Apparently, the AI detects that both Alear AND Framme (using Chain Guard) receive damage without dying and attacks Framme because the target - Jade - won't counterattack. If Alear equips a 1-range sword, a nearby lance user tries to break her, and if that attack connects the archer will try to go for the kill. However, with the levin sword equipped, the archer acts first and ignores Alear... It doesn't really have anything to do with my using Obstruct.

That Jade Steel Greataxe hit on the Wolf Knight was neat.

Did Chloe miss inheriting Canter? Is it impossible to get enough SP for it in Hard LTC context?

Also... will you be using the Well that was added with the latest update? Or will you just ignore it for this run?

Chloe probably could've got more experience, and with it SP, if I'd prioritised her for arena experience and rigged her multiple instances of Vander combat for, like, 150 exp in between each chapter. Because of her role in slaying bosses in just about any map when she's available, she can't really afford to equip Emblem Marth and kill things with Mercurius for experience. Even for Alear, there was only really one map where I could've used that (chapter 6), and I abstained because I didn't want to rig one level-up too many. In general, having fixed or modded perfect level-ups would remove the dependence on rigged levels and allow me to care about the quantity of experience over quality of level-ups. Until chapter 19, Alear is the only one who can Canter.

WRT the well, things don't seem so clear-cut. I wish I could compensate for Seadall's absence with, like, extra Warp staves, but at the same time I haven't been utilising the well for many maps where, were I to play it now, the well might've helped me some turns and made more objectives possible. I'll probably play around with the well and see what I can get but avoid any real manipulation, much like the Fates lottery feature.

Huh. Are you looking to rig an S Olwen ring too?

Just got my second one. I think I won't need more than three (Celine, Ivy and Citrinne, if I ever feel like fielding all three). They shouldn't ever see any use, but it's very plausible during the midgame when magic-friendly emblem rings are sparse.

How many tries did it take you to get that S Deirdre ring? I imagine it was a lot... I mean, I've been trying to rig an S ring myself, but god... It's rough.

A stupidly long time... I only had 1,4K Bond Fragments before the DLC gave me a lot more, so I had no flexibility in terms of arranging the RNs. The more BFs you have, the easier it is to rig the rings you want.

Very nice clears, as usual. Nobody likes hacked/100% runs. They take away the credit for your hard work.

Rigging can be hell, but very satisfying when you finally get what you want.

Happy to see the clear didn't need a rewind.

Oh, it did, more than several for sure. Why do you think I unequip Anna's Iron Axe before the last player phase ends? Because HM's mid-chapter saves preserve the chapter's RNG, there's room to rearrange actions kinda like I do it in the GBA FE games.

  7. Failed to rig a favourable level-up for Celine while 2-turning Anna's paralogue. Trying to arrange a 2-turn clear of chapter 7 now; stuck on wrestling against the cooking RNG right now.

Somebody asked me why I don't just hack 100% growths in to save myself some of the headache. It wouldn't be authentic somehow? Mages having armour knight defence and everybody having 20 bld would feel weird.

  8. Really enjoying Hard Mode's accelerated exp gain compared to Maddening. Just about anyone can become usable in this run if enough effort is applied. It's questionable that somebody like Etie is to be given favouritism when we can just turn somebody like Lapis or Timerra into a bow knight if we so please, but the option is there.

  9. On Maddening, it seems like you get only 10 exp regardless of whether you win or lose. On lower modes, exp can vary wildly also as a result of the opponent's power level. Against Emblems, it doesn't matter at all if you win or lose.

Lapogne posted this video to show what happens if you visit the distant village in chapter 13:

    Heh.

  10. Guys, the ridiculous rewarp/16 mov stats have begun!

What is your strategy for chapter 13 and 14 if you don't mind me asking?

Is it worth getting the Rescue staff in the former and the boots in the latter? In LTC contexts anyways.

These chapters are really stumping me from an efficiency standpoint... putting in spoiler to avoid spoiling story events:

      Hide contents

Both maps are huge and you have missing emblems after ch10, which makes fast clears kinda hard. 13 particularly with Fog of War since you can't move or even Rewarp to tiles you can't see in Engage.

14 also has that moat which cuts off access to the throne room right at the start, for anyone except fliers. So I can certainly see wanting a Rescue staff for that, but I'm not sure if it's worth it either.

I had no issues with 10, 11 or 12 (4-turns, 5-turns, and 3-turns respectively), but suddenly 13 crept up and I felt so lost as to what a fast clear would look like. Fastest I managed while grabbing the Rescue staff was 8 turns.

Then 14 I really struggled at 12 turns... but I went for all the chests. I even abused Ike's Great Aether though to whittle down all bosses that got in range. Thinking about it, I think I could maybe just rescue + warp someone to the right chest room from the throne room and grab the boots, as it is the only worthwhile item. But then again, that would require the rescue staff from the previous chapter.

Frankly, I'm more worried about Seadall's map. That one fills me with dread. We should have enough fliers to cross the map in chapter 14, and there's Rewarp/Warp to help us in 13. I've thought about Fog of War, but we'll have additional staff users to light the way before that, or maybe the item will be more effective? We'll see.

The game has been out for 8 days and we're not only seeing LTCs, but gimmick LTCs. I'm honestly impressed, all the best to you.

    Thanks, AnonymousSpee

    d 😉

Well, it may be a gimmick to some, but I have been playing Female LTCs for a while, and in fact my first FE videos on YouTube  are from one such run (except not an LTC).

Video of the third chapter, cleared in 7 turns. It's another one of the tough clears in this run (so far none of the clears have been particularly simple because of the growths being lower than before on average for one reason). Etie helps out with the lance fliers a lot, as Alear faces WTD and Break from these. More details in the video's description on YouTube.

Is it worth donating pass level 2? I heard a lot that money is tight in game. I'm playing on Normal.

If you train Anna as a High Priest for high despoil rates, money is easy to get back by doing skirmishes. Some S-rank weaponry is acquired by donating, so if you intend to spend a lot of playing the game it's worth the consideration.

Do you get a free Brave Sword during the story? I'm at chapter 23 and have gotten a Brave Lance, Brave Axe, and Brave Bow for free but I had to buy the Brave Sword from the armory so I'm wondering if I missed a free one during the story.

You can get one by donating to Brodia until it's at lv. 4 (40K gold total cost). You can also forge them from silver swords (100/10/1).

Is Clanne better as a Mage Knight or Sage?

Sage. With a base strength of 1 and really low growths in the stats before promotion, he's not going to be a very good hybrid attacker. Might as well maximise the magic.

Is Ike’s weapon engrave good on… anything? I’m just failing to see to point of it. +3 mt for +15 wt just does not seem worth it. Like am I missing something?

Try putting it on your forged Dire Thunder user.
