Bringing real change is what matters and the fact that even Byleth, Claude and Dimitri need the war to realize their ideals only reinforces that.

I don't think Dimitri needed the war since you know, it made him mentally snap. Claude didn't need it either as he mentions that he would rather have his dreams become a reality, without causing any bloodshed even if that's unrealistic and impossible. Nobody really needed the war.

We also can see her motives are false at worst, and misguided at best

Same as Rhea and Dimitri though. That's the thing about FE all the mains are heavily flawed characters, even Claude isn't a perfect sweetie-pie.

As said before Edelgard isn't a truly heartless monster and same with the others. I just feel like her choices, decisions, stubbornness and pride are too frustrating for her to be a interesting or highly praised character, but others are going to think different of course.

Her Chrom support isn’t even all that bad though. It’s a fairly cute little romance story. It’s not all that complex or anything but it works for what it is and that’s really all it needed to be.

I thought people hated it because it was ''all about pie than romance ?'' and then they turn around and ship her with Gaius lol

But yes, her Chrom supports are pretty cute and simple, but not in a bad way, she just takes care of him like a old fashioned housewife would.

But come on here, we all know the real reasons why people hate on Sumia, and it's not really because her supports with Chrom is "bad", she gets in the way of people's OTP.  So they shove the "pie lover" with the candy lover

Personally I feel like the best path is Silver Snow, you have to stop Edlegard for a personal reason, but also have to deal with the fact that your students who were originally from the empire, just basically told Edlegard to go fuck herself (That and Flayn x Ferdinand is so fucking adorable)

I've yet to play Sliver Snow, but that sounds hilarious.

    Edelgard, hands down.

I know depending on which route you play first determines what you think of Dimitri and Eledgard, but Edelgard i don't think is redeemable, Claude and Her have roughly the same goals: they both hate/question the church and want to live in a world without prejudice and where crests don't matter. However, while Claude tries to go about this logically and methodically while trying not to step on the toes of Dimitri and Edelgard, Edelgard is just "F*** it, kill everyone". I just can't get behind this.

As much as i dislike Edelgard, she and Arvis from FE4 have a lot in common, both have been persecuted for the blood/crests they have and both had VERY rough childhoods. Arvis was tricked however into thinking killing Sigurd was the final solution and eventually regretted his decision later on in his life. Edelgard has no redemption, no reflection on the thousands she has murdered. She gets what she wants after murdering everything in her way. RIP Dedue

Edel had her chances to stop and redeem, countless chances, though her determination and ambition was just too stubborn and she always refused to stop. She puts her dreams first, always. Even if it means hurting others. Edel puts herself first always, unless maybe the professor is on her side.

Claude and Edel almost being on the same wavelength makes Edel look like a egotistical fool. Claude refuses to start war knowing that it's just going to create bloodshed and misery and tries to find the best option around it. Edel just heads straight into war, other people's feelings be damned.

She does have some reflection on it though, but she refuses to let emotion show due to her trauma. " No the Edelgard that shed tears is dead".

I'm not supporting her or hating on her btw. Though I do agree that she's highly overrated. She's more annoying than deep imo. Though at the same time, she's not a heartless monster. Edel wants to cry and reflect, but she also believes that side of her died many years ago.

But I think that's why many people like her because she's so flawed, that and because she's thirsty for Byleth, and it's easy to self-insert yourself as Byleth. But I think she's too stubborn, too ambitious and too self-serving to be worshipped the way that she is.

  6.  Ignatz : What on earth did he do that was wrong ? The poor child just wants to paint pictures.Ignatz is just as pure as characters like Annette and Ashe. I have a vibe it's because he's "ugly", and therefore people are less keen to like his character, because of those shallow reasons.

Bernie: Girl has social anxiety and trust issues to the extreme and grew up with a abusive father so it's logical to why she behaves the way that she does. People just don't understand social anxiety, I feel ?

Rhea: She's disturbing yes, but she's also flawed due to her trauma. Sounds familiar ? She's no different from Dimitri and Edelgard.

Nah, I agree with this point at least. That ship is awful. The support chain just completely ruins it imo. I mean, disregarding any possible romance, the whole walking in on one another naked thing is hilarious. But NOT a way to build a romance at all, that is just entirely stupid.

I thought that people liked that ship because girls ship themselves with Chrom and Chrom/Robin is the closest you are ever going to get to that happening, as you take the role of Robin ?

Also why people hated on Sumia, because she gets in the way of a romance with Chrom.

Anyways, I never saw Chrom/ Robin shipping as that deep, just Chrom fangirling.

The absolute best way is to not.

There shouldn't be some golden ending where everything is all sunshine and rainbows and everyone has a big harem wedding after the credits. The whole point is to decide what side of the conflict you want to support. Why are people so afraid of making hard decisions?

Agree, doing something like this would just spoil the whole concept of Three Houses.

  9. A owl class. The character uses a owl that can wield a small dagger or a tiny spear that can fly across a couple of paces ahead and stab the enemy. The owl can also steal items like potions and keys and can open chests. Not the strongest or mightiest class, but a tad sneaky and helpful. I guess it would be like the thief class, but cuter. Maybe some characters can use a pigeon, if they have a quirky or more humble characterization and those into the magics can use something more among the lines of a crow.

  10. Blue Lions: I left Sylvain behind and don't regret it one bit. I attempted to understand him and understand his sorrows, but just couldn't seem manage at all. Dimitri, yes Dimitri has PTSD and has trauma, but that doesn't excuse what he does and what he tries to do. Also his fans .......baby him, alot. Dimitri knows what he's done, he even admits it more than once. Love Dimitri all you desire, but the babying, ick.

Golden Deers : Lorenz. Just like Sylvain, there was a strong attempt to like this character, but it failed miserably. I don't think he's overhyped though ?

Black Eagles : Edelgard and Hubert. Hubert just creeps me the heck out and Edelgard being a massive hypocrite grinds my gears lol. Also the Edel babying, ick. Just like Dimitri, Edel sort of ? Knows what she's doing. Anyways, she knows that she has to draw blood to 'cut out her path' for her ambitions to become a reality. Again, I don't think Hubert is overhyped, this is just a guess.

    • Binding Blade: I've what I know about the game maaybe Lilina and Geese. Lilina is cute and loyal towards his father, Geese meanwhile is a pirate with the name Geese which just tickles my very strange sense of humour and has a pretty cool design.
    • Blazing Sword: Maybe Lyn for her badass style and maybe Floria for the opposite. The cute shy type. As for males, clueless; people say that Hector is a good character but I'm very interested in Jaffar just again, for his name lol.
    • Sacred Stones: Eirika and Seth.
    • Path of Radiance: Maybe Ike and Mia ?
    • Radiant Dawn: Micaiah as from what I've seen she crawled so the Three Houses "grey" Lords could run. Maybe Sothe.
    • Awakening Gen 1: Olivia and Lon Qu !
    • Awakening Gen 2: Gerome and poor Noire
    • Fates Gen 1: Elise and Takumi
    • Fates Gen 2: Sophie, Dwyer
    • Three Houses: Marianne and Claude

Hence why context is important!  It's easy enough to make the false equivalency.  Thing is, we don't know the context behind what/why Dimitri did those things.  I won't say he's irredeemable for those things, simply because he's a really unreliable narrator during his dark phase.

But torturing a POW is screwed up, so he can have that under his list of sins.

This is why I'm not fond of Dimitri, not only does he show complete joy and pleasure in wanting to slowly and painfully torture a POW but he admits his murdering of children.

As somebody else previously mentioned before Randolph kills on the battlefield as his job as a soldier, Dimitri murders.

In Azure Moon you are helping a monster. Yes he has trauma and PTSD, but he's still a complete monster. Dim himself even confesses it.

  12. Ashe is a kind-hearted character that deserves more love, he had a rough past but he doesn't let it taint his heart and soul. Ashe wants to help others, like how he got help in his childhood, and that's just really sweet.

Bernie always gets too much hate that I've seen, it's understandable that some may find her annoying, but she also has a good reason to why she's so on edge around other people and a bit strange.

Also I don't think that Iggy is ugly at all ? He's like a cute mint-green haired Harry Potter. Poor Ignatz.

Byleth x Rhea: Isn’t that fucking your grandma and daughter at the same time?

Yes..... but at the same time I don't think modern Fire Emblem cares too much about that.
