Don't know as a main character NPC never died on me in Path of Radiance before. But the sad death music plays so I assume they die.

Path of Radiance, Maniac Mode is a cluster fu<k. Chapter 17, part 4 especially. Mainly due to a group of birdie NPCs suiciding themselves to paladin archers >.<..

...Aran.... WTF would you bring him when you have Gatrie..... Nephenee....I would bring her... she doubles pretty much everything in the tower... Danved.... he fights like 10 1/2 frozen hobo's...

Personally, I go easy/normal first so that in the hard mode playthroughs, I don't get screwed over....

Sophia.... even though Ray has better bases, I still prefer Sophia.... not sure why.... probably becuase I like training Est archtypes into complete monsters....

Yes but to get to that durability.... you have to slog through a crapload of chapters with a difficulty that makes training people completely from scratch difficult and impratical.... and even if you do manage to get him to cap defence, strength and skill.... THERE IS BARELY ANY BONUS EXP IN HARDMODE IN PART 1.....

.... Aran??? Aran sucks bigtime in hard mode.... unless you boss abuse, or A CRAPLOAD of babying, he is going to be raped by the laguz in part 3.... Nephenee.... at least you have 3 EASY chapters to train her with....
