  1. Ryoma's the only Hoshidan sibling that I really like. (Hinoka is meh to me, and I dislike Sakura and Takumi, but Ryoma seems really cool and to be a good guy) Not that it'll save him in the end though.

  2. I can't judge Ryu because I am currently hopeless with him, and I don't have Lucas yet.

From what I've played with Roy so far, he seems to have better frame data overall than Marth and Lucina do. His sweet spot doesn't have the same punch as Marth's, but it's easier to land (as it's much bigger) and his moves that don't share animations with Marth's seem to be quicker than Marth's. Plus he is a fast faller and seems to have a faster run speed. These are just first impressions, so I may be completely wrong, but it seems Roy will have the most aggressive playstyle out of all of the Fire Emblem characters. Plus his down throw is a combo throw.

  3. Very exited for Roy's return. I like that they fused his classic design with his new Awakening DLC design. His moves also look a bit different than Marth's animation wise (F-Smash, Neutral B), so he'll definitely be more unique than Lucina, even if he is mostly a clone.

    Ryu is cool.

  4. I'm going to capture enemies to use them as buffers for my characters on Lunatic mode, and Lunatic+ (should that mode return). If it turns out that most Nohr characters have crappy base stats that render them almost unusable without tons of babying on Lunatic mode, the generics may end up having permanent spots on my team.

  5. Well, if I get the option to kill off or spare the other royal siblings, I'd definitely be killing off Takumi, unless sparing him would get him good character development. (I'm just not a fan of him) I'd spare the rest of the Hoshido siblings on one run, then completely eliminate them in another. I'd always spare the Nohr siblings.

The most recent commercial makes me think that we will end up killing all of the opposing siblings though,

  6. The prison sounds like it'll be very useful on higher difficulties. I'll make good use of the generics as buffers for my units, and if a majority of the Nohrian characters don't have high enough base stats to be usable on the highest difficulties, then Lunatic mode generics may find themselves having permanent spots on my team.

I'm not a fan of face rubbing, but the more people get up in arms about it, (Serenes has been pretty calm about it) the funnier I find the mechanic as a whole. I'm not going to use it, but just the reactions from people have made me go from completely disapproving of it to finding it kind of funny.

  7. Huh, it's looking you like you will end up fighting your whole family and their retainers of the side you don't choose in chapter 6. If you look closely when Camilla uses Dragons vein, you can see Harold, Elfie, Belka, and Nyx as enemy units.

The trailer as a whole has gotten me even more hyped, and I'm looking forward to playing the Japanese release. (No way I can wait until 2016 for this!)

    Fricking hell...

I guess expect a translation tomorrow or the day after.

I feel like I have a batman signal in the sky or something.

Your work is greatly appreciated. I give you my thanks in advance.

  8. I don't mind. This seems to be one of IS' ways to try to sell the Nohr version to Awakening fans, by having some fan favorites return in nearly everything but name. This is a more extreme version of the old archetypes, (such as the red and green cavaliers, or a solid mercenary who joins in the early game, etc) and while I don't mind for this game, this shouldn't become a trend. Helps that IMO Severa, Inigo, and Owain had the best designs out of the gen 2 characters in Awakening.

  9. Woah woah woah, at 9:02 or so it shows that when you beat streetpassed people you can recruit others from their army, and it shows cross recruiting...so theoretically, you can have all the soldiers from Nohr in Hoshido and vice versa? Or am I understanding this wrong?

Oh wow, I didn't notice that. For laughs I'm definitely gonna do a playthrough where I recruit Ryouma in the Nohr version and have him fight Hoshido soldiers and his siblings.

  10. Again, THE GAME IS BEATABLE WITHOUT GRINDING. Does this have ANYTHING to do with the intentions of IS and how they designed the game? My point was that IS obviously designed Awakening with grinding in mind, just like how the designed the game with Pair Up in mind. The reason we're talking about grinding is because that's what everyone jumped on. Grinding, pair up, stat boosters, it doesn't matter. What I'm worried about is whether or not the challenges presented to the player will be designed under the notion that the player is fully utilizing the castle. If it is and Lunatic is prohibitively difficult, then the people who don't want to play Rune Factory Tactics will be forced to play a base management game instead of a strategy game.

That is a bit of a concern I have for the Hoshido route, but I believe that it has been explicitly mentioned that you gain no extra gold or EXP from the "my castle" in the Nohr route. Forges and minor stat boosts can only do so much. I'm somewhat confident that this won't be an issue balance wise.

  11. Oh, thanks for the translation, SOC! That's a lot to do in such a short time!

In regards to all of the negativity, well "my castle" is something that's totally new to the series. It's natural for some people who don't want changes in Fire Emblem to be adverse to this, as they don't know if they will like it or not, or if it will be even done well. Personally, I like "my castle", aside from the face rubbing, which now I'm apathetic towards rather than strongly against. (I still will likely avoid it though)

If you want to see real negativity though, just go on the Fire Emblem Subreddit. That place was like a war zone yesterday.

  12. Hmmm... Maybe special classes go to level 40, like how Awakening's special classes went to level 30?

If the level cap is raised to 40, I'm interested in seeing how that impacts the game.
