Whataboutism much? I am not a big fan of birthright either, but that doesn't remove the fact that ambush spawns are dumb.

Don't see how that term applies here. Ambush spawns (when they appear and take action on the same turn with no prior warning by the game) are dumb. Never said they weren't. They're just not nearly as bad as a character death unknowingly linked to support level.

There is a difference between adding content, rewarding players for searching hard enough, bonus replay content, and surprise game over the player or permanently affect their run by something the player couldn't see coming unless they have the power to see the future.

The player should always be able to react. Always. Otherwise it's bullshit game design.

Sounds like you're still talking about ambush spawns; which I was not referencing in the passage you quoted. At no point have I defended ambush spawns.

  2. I saw Ep 9 recently and was pleasantly surprised despite not going in with high hopes due to the reviews. It wasn't a perfect movie but I don't understand such low readings. The few reviews I read were pretty vague and didn't go into details about the actual flaws.

For those who've seen it, what was your thoughts on this film? What were your biggest issues? And how big of a fan are you of the franchise?

And anytime stuff like ambush reinforcements happens. Or Warp tiles. Or FE6 True end bs.

You can reset for ambush spawns. Not nearly as easy to reset for Kage in Birthright.

Not everyone has the time or wants to replay games. Except for some FE (basically, CQ and Three houses), i usually never replay games either. So hiding stuff for ''lol replay it'' is dumb.

There are other stuff that makes games replayble, like customization, variety, difficulties, route splits, etc.

But not hiding stuff from player.

Just cause it isn't your preference doesn't make it dumb. I rarely have time to replay games as well so if I really want to complete the whole game in one go I use a spoiler free guide. I see no use in getting mad at game devs for adding content for players that do want to replay their games.

As for the subject of Medicare For All being terrifying to some voters, only if you're believing the lies of the fear-mongering side

She did say scary to those who don't understand how other 1st world countries work. The problem isn't necessarily related to parties as much as people not researching how healthcare and government works outside of the States. Undecided voters tend to not look into candidates and policies until the last minute, so seeing concepts they may not understand like Medicare for All may sway these voters away from candidates that are less radical to maintain some of the status quo.

TL;DR The Fire Emblem series has a really bad track record when it comes to not holding back crucial info a player would need to not get screwed over.

I think the only scenario that I would consider crucial is Kaze's. The rest really don't screw the player over. The games are supposed to have replayability. Missing some characters or not getting the true ending shouldn't be considered a negative on a first playthrough.

    How did it go?

Memes were had. Knowing what I know about Dim and Edy, I dont think I'll enjoy them as much as Claudes route. I am very interested in Jeritza tho.

I can't imagine doing any other route than Blue Lions...

I think that's just most people's reaction to who they picked first. The bias is already there.

And IMO, I think it's the swing states that'll dig their heels in for Trump, because the kind of change Bernie is proposing is scary (not to those of us who understand how other first-world countries operate, but still)

Yeah, I have more faith that Biden, and maybe even Warren, have a better chance of beating Tr*mp over Bernie. Which is a shame because the States need an overhaul of healthcare and college education immediately and, as of now, I can only see that happening under Bernie...
