Mist is technically also a paladin because she gets a horse once promoted.

Anyways you should take these things into account:

    1. You don't have access to mounted units in every chapter.

    2. You must train Ike to beat E-2.

    3. Fiona can't solo at all in part 1, maybe in easy though.

    4. How do you want to keep Sothe and Micaiah safe in part 3? Fiona can only rescue one person.

Yeah i just assumed that was to be expected cause you need it to beat the game so didint address it. i guess i shoulve specified you use all the characters that are needed for the final like michaiah and sothe etc.

Surely a Paladins-only run is impossible since there are a decent amount of chapters where you don't have any horse units available to use (1-P all the way to 1-6, 1-8, 1-9, 2-P, 2-1, 2-2, most of 2-E). Oh, and you are probably going to need to train Ike, since he has to beat the Black Knight.

Doing 4-3 (a desert chapter, mind you) with only horse units is fun?

cant do much about that but what i said applies to this as well ^. it can never be a true only paladin run but try to as much as possible.

A simple question I figure I should ask...

When you create your endgame teams for the final chapter(s), at what point do you begin choosing which units to bring to the end, and what do you look at when deciding which units you wish to bring?

It depends on the playthrough. ive done so many runs of every fire emblem game that i usually determine the units im using before i even start the game. If its a new fire emblem game i go purely off design/try to train everyone if possible which sometimes isnt.

  3. For the GBA games i would say min 20 hours. any shorter you would probably miss stuff and not get the full experience. Fire emblem games are longer then the majority which is a good thing, the more content the better.  Fe7 is a good place to start. Fe6 takes place after FE7 events but its a harder game in general. FE8 is the shortest with only 22 chapters but has the most extra content after the game/during the game.

  4. Nice! those are some great games! im currently playing through Fire emblem order of the crimson arm (great hack by MaskedRaider) and octopath traveler which is one of the best games ive played this year alongside Ni no kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom. im new to actively participating on this forum as well so welcome.
