  1. I actually liked that this game had fewer classes than the last few. Sure, it gives you fewer choices, but it also gives you less to focus on when you're looking at the map. It's much easier to memorize 10-15 different enemy classes and know what they're stats are going to look like than the 25-30 nonsense of Awakening/Fates. I like that they brought back weapon durability. I like that the character designs were significantly closer to what was in Echos than in Fates. I like that the pairup system is all but gone. One of the only things I have mixed feelings on is the base stat system they're using for class changing. It encourages questionable decisions that a normal bonus stats for promotions wouldn't. It does keep units from getting stat screwed too badly, tho.
  2. So you have this E rank weapon with 9MT, 5WT and 20 crit, double effectiveness, you get it fairly early (Manuela and Hanneman's paralogue) that repairs for only 5 smithing stones. Meaning it might as well have infinite uses. Just thought I'd point it out for anyone who hasn't been abusing this yet.
  3. Flayn and Seteth both had some pretty cool dialogue with the boss from Leonie and Linhardt's paralogue.
  4. On my NG+ run I paid for heavy armor C and faith A to get Fortress Knight and Bishop bases at level 20, then went Swordmaster to fix the str and speed with growths. Works quite well, switching back and forth between Enlightened One and Swordmaster as needed.
  5. Did you get the idgaf facetank everything shield Aegis Shield for Felix? Between the hard defense and the abilities it gives, it makes his durability on par or better than Dimitri's.
  6. I've been using the base stats on class changing to give growth screwed units a bump. On my first play through, for example, my Belyth only had 12 defense at level 30, so I put some effort into heavy armor and save abused promotions until I was able to make him a fortress knight for a 7 point defense bump. Making most of your mounted units holy knights fixes low resistance with minimal investment in faith is another good example. As far as getting levels for low leveled units, make the character you want to level an adjunct of someone who can solo clear a map and give them the exp gem.
  7. I actually don't think you can reroll bad levels with pulse. I played around with the rng for that a little and I think each character has it's own pool of rngs specifically for levels that isn't used for other things like combat. For example, a character got a on turn 2 will get the same level if they get it on turn 5 or turn 10, regardless of what actions are taken in between them. I haven't messed around with retreating or anything, but I'm fairly sure divine pulse won't do anything.
  8. Make sure you give Holyn the Return Ring. You'll be happy you did in chapter 7. Also try and get 50+ kills on the Silver Sword, Hero Sword, Hero Lance, Elwind, and Wind Sword in addition to holy weapons before gen 2 starts.
  9. Don't miss the Hero Axe in chapter 1 or the Bargin Ring and Pursuit Ring in chapter 2.
