  1. I'd honestly rather keep it the way it is, and increase the effect of the weapon triangle. The weapons don't necessarily need to be different inherently.
  2. Probably Elibe. That's the best one for peasants, as I've seen. Though, being a woman, it's likely just about any of the FE worlds would be pretty bad for me.
  3. wrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  4. That's fair, but Swordmasters typically are terrible. Even Fir isn't all that good.
  5. Tharja/Rhajat, Camilla, Takumi. Any of those characters, really. Almost anyone in the Fates cast could qualify, to be honest. In my opinion I don't think there's anyone who has any actual character in Fates.
  6. Rutger contains the recipe for a trash unit, but is actually very good. On hard mode, he's one of your best (and potentially your only, if you're unlucky) boss killers. He doesn't have a horse, but it's very easy to keep him up with the rest of your army if you rescue/drop him.
  7. Then don't say Rebecca is good if you know all this? There's no point in making a thread like this if you alread know Rebecca is trash.
  8. Okay, yes, turn counts aren't technically limited, but that's not the point. When you take 15 turns to beat a chapter that can be beaten in 7-8, you can use literally anyone as the enemies stop being difficult. You have to play fast, otherwise units don't stand out from each other at all in any notable way. This is why units are rated by efficiency, and helps explain why Rebecca is just an objectively terrible unit.
  9. Exactly. When you play like that, any unit is good. Turns aren't an infinite resource; you need to use a little as possible otherwise every unit is basically the same.
  10. And how long did that take? Almost certainly longer than it would've taken to just give those kills to a good unit, like Sain, Kent, Lowen, Marcus, Hector, Florina, etc.
  11. There's just no way you're going to have a level 15 Rebecca by Chapter 17 without grinding her to some degree. You're babying her. You would've gotten a significantly faster turncount had you not used Rebecca.
  12. HHM isn't really that hard if I'm gonna be honest. And even then, when you let yourself lure each enemy individually and play at a snail's pace, any unit can be good. It's possible to train up even Sophia in FE6 on hard mode, but that doesn't mean she's good.
  13. Right, but all that effort into raising her just isn't worth it. You could've just used someone else and got the same thing. It's just not worth the effort. Not to mention that you played incredibly slowly and on EHM. Anyone can be good under those circumstances because FE7 is extremely easy.
  14. Only if they keep it generally the same as FE6. I liked Echoes, but I'm afraid that they'd take it a bit too far and make the game suffer for it. I don't really trust IS with the things I like, so I'm a bit hesitant to say an FE6 Echoes would be a good idea.
  15. If I'm gonna be honest.... this is kinda useless. Personal experience doesn't really mean anything when debating about a unit's viability, even if you make a big deal out of it. Rebecca's still a bad unit and a waste of a unit slot, you might as well just use a better unit.
  16. Giving him any other weapon type would be helpful, but.... it doesn't really make sense. So I'd recommend just giving him a horse, and giving him charm/charisma would at least help him be decent. You could also just give him one more movement, and buff his stats. That wouldn't make him good, but it'd certainly make him better.
  17. I guess I'm just one for utility. All in all, I prefer the fliers, but Paladins just help so much with the early game and are so fun to use when you start getting concious of rescue drop/trading opportunities.
  18. Like I said, I'm used to arguing about stuff on Fire Emblem forums, I totally expected this, lmao. My favourite classes are probably Paladins or Wyvern Knights. I really enjoy rescue dropping, and those two classes are the best at doing it. For my least favourite classes, I'm not a big fan of armour knights or archers as they're typically pretty useless due to their low movement and lack of 1 range and low stats, respectively. Armour Knights are a bit more enjoyable in games where they can promote to Great Knight, though. I guess Great Knight is pretty cool, too, especially in Skills System FE8.
  19. We're really getting nowhere with this so let's just agree to disagree. There's no point in keeping this up.
  20. I think you're selling Jugdral and especially Binding Blade short. I'll admit that yes, the maps in Geneaology are way too large for any other Fire Emblem game, but I think a large part of it isn't actually their size. The main issue with Geneaology is the excess of backtracking through large expanses of desolate land with nothing to do other than move units and hit end turn. FE6 doesn't suffer from this issue, as there's always something to do in a majority of chapters. And, to give a controversial statement; I think that Fates didn't even have good mechanics or gameplay to give it even some kind of redeeming factor. The maps in Conquest and Revelation rely far too heavy on one-time, meaningless gimmicks that serve only to make each chapter feel "distinct" and don't even have a logical place in the story. Conquest has a few good maps, but I'd say that every FE game has good maps, including Genaology.
  21. I'm used to it at this point, lmao. Praising any game in the Fire Emblem fanbase is bound to start an argument, and I can't say that I'm not guilty of it, either, especially in particular with Fire Emblem Fates, which has become one of my least favourite games of all time.
  22. This isn't a debate thread, so I don't want to get too into it, but I think that in both Jugdral and FE6, the big maps have their place; gameplay and story are inextricably linked, no matter what you do. A Fire Emblem game with a bad story (like Conquest) is still going to suffer regardless of whether or not your gameplay is "good." Gameplay/story integration is extremely important IMO and both Binding Blade and Jugdral do it perfectly. Chapter 21 of Binding Blade is my favourite example of it; it works perfectly and is very fun, in part due to its large size.
  23. I enjoy larger maps, typically, and as a whole I tend to prefer good stories to subpar or bad ones (which are extremely prevalent post DS-FE). Jugdral's gameplay I honestly enjoy, and as whole I think the criticisms on its gameplay are a bit overblown. I get that it's not the best, and I'll admit that, but I don't think it's quite as bad as everyone seems to say.
  24. Oof... it took me a while to find that gif. Oh well. I changed it, hopefully this one isn't too terribly large, like the other one.
  25. I'm pretty woried, to be honest. I very, very much dislike the three 3DS games, and I've lost most of my faith in IS to make things I enjoy. But, from what little we've seen, it seems they're taking a step in the right direction. I think it's likely they'll keep some level of 3DSFE-ness in there, but I'm just hoping we get a good game this time around.
