  1. Hm, for me it's got to be Midori and Asugi. I like how it can be taken to be viewed either romantically in a cute way, or just simply a cute interaction between cousins. That way, people can choose to view it whichever way they prefer, with the support itself leaving both possibilities viable.
  2. From what I understand and recall, King Garon died sometime after Elise was born, killed by Anankos messing with his mind, and Anankos began controlling his body as a puppet once he'd died. I might be wrong about this, so, if I am, feel free to correct me, as I would like to know for sure. If I'm not, however, that would make the humanoid form we usually see him in, King Garon's true, and only, form before he died. Which then begs the question: where did the slime monster thing come in? Anankos is a dragon, so wouldn't a Garon corpse controlled by Anankos either turn dust(Garon's true form), or into a dragon(Anankos true form)?
  3. http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/my-castle/private-quarters/ Check the bonding section of that page. I'm pretty sure that's what your describing.
  4. I love Owain/Odin, and his daughter Ophelia, so I'd definitely keep Owain/Odin as one of the Awakening kids brought in. Even though I really like Soleil, and thus would need Inigo/Lazlow to remain in Fates, I think Noire would fit in Fates better, only she'd take Severa/Selena's position as Camilla's retainer, and Severa/Selena would become Xander's retainer. I don't think Xander could handle having two nutjobs to look after. Well, not on top of everything else he has to deal with.
  5. Based on the era the games are roughly based off of, I chose the characters ages to be on the younger end of the spectrum for the most part. Elise specifically can't be much older then 12. The words "act like the adult you technically are" specifically come to mind. Considering that, until recently ( within the last several centuries in fact) one was considered an adult by the age they were capable of producing offspring, and the era the games are roughly based on, Elise being any older would make little sense. We can also assume that it was worded in such a so that people don't freak out about Elise having a child so young, simply because it was stated she was, technically, an adult. Of course, they never actually said under what laws she was technically adult. Sakura I put at 14, because she's younger then Takumi, and Takumi doesn't look much older then 15. And, other then Elise and Sakura, I always felt the Nohrian siblings were older then their Hoshidan counterparts, so I put Leo at 16. Hinoka always seemed to be about 19 or 20 to me, and I put 20, and Camilla seems a good deal more mature and older then Hinoka, so I put her at 23. I put Ryoma at 24, and Xander at 27, as Xander seems a fair amount older then all the others. I put Corrin at 17, because we're going off his default appearence, and Azura at 18. Corrin's older appearence looks like he's 19, which was another reason I put Hinoka at 20, so that she was still older then him, no matter what appearance you use. Nyx is the most confusing of all of them. She repeatedly tells us she's much much older then she looks, but she looks like she's 12. I decided that, if she's going to be the 'really old, but looks really young' character, I was going to assume she was ancient, and put down that she's much older then any of the listed ages. After all, for all we know, the curse that stops her from aging also gives her eternal youth. Kaden and Keaton I also put down as impossible to tell, simply because we don't know their species lifespan. I put Selena, Odin, and Laswald down as 18, simply because they've been in Nohr for several years now, and I always assumed that they were about 13-14 in Awakening, although, that was because Lucina was the oldest of the Awakening children, except Laurent, and there's no way Lucina was any older then 15, given what we know about her. The rest could have been several of the ages listed, so I just chose what I felt was appropriate, considering the other ages I'd put down, and went on from there. I'm not even going to bother with the Fates Children's ages if a poll is made for them though. That's a huge mess just waiting to happen, in my opinion.
  6. It's a pity. Flora is my favourite of the four of them, but I like both Kaze and Saizou, and I really don't like Felicia, so my vote went for Kaze and Saizou.
  7. Illusionary Distance: A skill for a magic unit, that makes enemies within a 7 tile range have their movement range cut in half, rounding up to the nearest whole number. It works by making the enemies think the distance between them and the unit with the skill is longer then it is. Opposing magic units are immune, but only if their magic score is higher then the unit with the skill. The only issue I could see with this is if both allies have the ability, they could, theoretically, attack endlessly. With a pair of healers paired up following them, also with the ability, they could also be endlessly healed. Some restrictions would have to apply. Perhaps it could only work on a percent chance based on their support level? 5% for no support, 10% for C support, 15% for B support, 20% for A support, and 25% for S support? Or, at the very least, if both paired up units have the ability, add in a counter to the skill that prevents the ability from activating if a unit with the skill is switched in by another unit with the skill.
  8. Fair enough. I could have probably done with thinking the entire things out just a bit more. My assumption that Hinoka didn't remember Ikona was based on the fact that she clearly believes the Avatar to be her half-sibling, until that letter from Mikto. If she was old enough remember her own mother, she should have been old enough to realize that Corrin being there at the same time would mean he couldn't be her half-sibling. Unless she thought so poorly of her father that she believed he'd cheat on Ikona with Mikoto. Which would probably explain the bolded text there. So, yea, a bit more research and thought probably would have saved me some embarrassment here.
  9. Personally, I think Mikoto was lying about not being at least Sakura's mother. Maybe Takumi's too, but it's possible that Takumi was born to Ikona, based on what we know. My reasoning? Let's start with things we know. We know that Hinoka was 7 years old when Corrin was stolen away. We also know she was older then him. So, we also know that Corrin was at least 6 when he was kidnapped. We also know that Elise was born shortly after Corrin arrived in Nohr, and we also know that Sakura and Elise are at least close in age. We also know that Mikoto arrived with a newborn baby Corrin. We also know that Takumi, Leo, Sakura, and Elise are all younger then Corrin. Now, this next portion is guesswork, but it's solid guesswork, so I believe it to be true. Since we know that Corrin is younger then Hinoka, and that, of the Hoshido siblings only Ryoma knew that Corrin was unrelated to them, Hinoka must have been young enough to not remember when her mother Ikona died. So, we know that Ikona died when Hinoka was younger then 3, because it's around that age when children start forming their first memorable memories, and a traumatic experience like having your mother die, would likely stick out, so she was probably about 2 when it happened. Since Hinoka had to be at least 1 when Mikoto and Corrin arrived, that leaves Ikona a window of a single year to have two children. It's possible that Takumi was born in this time frame, but it's impossible for Sakura to have been squeezed in as well. My conclusion? Sakura is likely Corrin's half sister, but Mikoto lied, sending her a letter to tell her otherwise, because she foresaw their romance (and how without this letter it would never go any further then bottled up feelings), and decided she didn't want to take away what little happiness might come to them, after already seeing their mother die. Because we don't know how much younger Takumi is then Corrin, he can either be just old enough to be Ikona's son, and just a year younger then Corrin, or he can be Corrin's half brother, and thus more then a year younger then Corrin. Of course, this assumes that Corrin is only a year younger then Hinoka. If he's more then a year younger, then Takumi is guaranteed to be Corrin's half-sibling, alongside Sakura. But, I doubt Corrin is anymore then 2 years younger then Hinoka, because, again, she would likely remember Mikoto suddenly arriving with a newborn baby in her arms, if she was 3 or older. Naturally however, because this is all guesswork, no matter how solid it is, the truth is whatever IS says it is. No matter how little sense their truth makes. Of course despite how solid my guesswork is, it is also all only my opinion. As for why Ryoma wouldn't speak up about the truth, it's possible that Mikoto asked him not to. He seems to respect her and her decisions enough to hold his tongue on such a matter. Either that, or, maybe it was because they were fighting a war, and by the time the war is over, he can't see any reason to break them apart, especially when they had Kana already. Or, perhaps because they're only half-siblings, it's just not that big a deal to him. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. Either way, it makes sense to me, and if it is wrong, it's still my headcanon.
  10. Let's try and look at this logically first. Flora, Felicia, Jakob, and Gunter are NOT retainers. Flora, Felicia, and Jakob are SERVANTS. Yes, they may also be Corrin's friends, but they still serve him and take care of all the menial things expected of a servant, such as laundry, cooking, and cleaning. It's their job to do those things. That they fight as well is likely because having maids and butlers who can serve as emergency soldiers is probably something Nohrian mentality decided made sense. It does. Gunter may be argued to be one, but he's rather old to be a retainer for someone as young as Corrin. Additionally, if you look at his backstory revealed in Revelations, you'll see why he would probably have no desire whatsoever to actually be a retainer to any member of the royal family anyways. Of all those previous mentioned, only Gunter actually COULD become Corrin's retainer. Unlikely considering his age, and his backstory from Revelations. Sadly, Silas is nothing more then just an old friend of Corrin's. A very well trained old friend, whose been knighted. This of course means he could easily become Corrin's retainer if he was asked by Corrin to become so, or asked Corrin for the position. In line with that, only Kaze, if you get him to A rank, is Corrin's retainer. Otherwise, Corrin doesn't have even a single retainer. Now, that's just what logic tells me. I could very well be wrong, but I've seen nothing that proves to me otherwise. My head canon however tells me mostly the same, up until we get to Silas. Since Kaze becomes Corrin's retainer once reaching A-Rank, I like to headcanon that Silas gets jealous, and asks for the same position. The reason I head canon this is because I think it fits to have Corrin, who is a prince of Hoshido and Nohr, to have a retainer from each country.
  11. Oboro's looking good as always. To be honest, I didn't think I'd like Oboro as much as I do, but she's become one of my favourite characters To be fair, Sakura's art could have been drawn that way to imply she was dodging an attack and still trying to heal someone. To show how dedicated she is to healing, maybe. I might be wrong though.
  12. I don't really care all that much about Rhajat, to be honest. She seems like a version of Tharja for people who didn't like the fact that Tharja actually had a personality. Or simply didn't like the personality Tharja had. I actually really liked Tharja's character in Awakening. And no she wasn't a child abuser. That was the Tharja from the Future the children ran away from who was a child abuser, and even then, it's implied that that's because she went completely off the deep end when her husband and/or Robin died. No excuse for it of course, but since she clearly went nuts, then a sane version of Tharja can't be held accountable for an insane versions actions. The Tharja you recruit in Awakening may have used a curse or two on the Noire that came back from the future, but nothing that could actually be construed as abuse. More like not very nice pranks. In the end, the Tharja we got was a somewhat decent person deep down, with some really messed up hobbies, and a moral code that was a little skewed. Rhajat is basically Tharja in appearence only.About the only thing she has in common with Tharja, aside from her looks, is that she's very interested in dark magic, what with her summoning Faceless, and an obsession with the Avatar. Even her obsession with Corrin is different from Tharja's to Robin. Corrin saved her, so Rhajat decided they were destined to be together. Tharja had no explanation for stalking Robin, but I personally believe it's because she liked the darkness she sensed in him that was his link with Grima. So, in the end, I don't hate Rhajat, but I don't care much about her either. As you can no doubt suspect from my comment, that obviously means I much prefer Tharja over Rhajat.
  13. I'm mixed about the children in Fates, and I voted on maybe for them being in future games. As a mechanic in general, I don't think they should have been in Fates at all, even if there were a few great ones that I really liked, and I feel they should have been in the main canon group of characters. Selkie and Velouria specifically. I'm sure there's more that other people might have liked, but for me that's pretty much it. But, the children in Fates did nothing for the story. You could grab all of them, or none of them, and the story doesn't change in the slightest. And none of them are mandatory. However, that same argument can be used on characters that don't automatically join you in the main story as well. As a result, one could look at the children characters as merely a way to inflate the cast of recruitable characters, and give you more options to choose from, while simultaneously giving you the option of choosing which additional classes they could have, as well, as some of their starting skills, and their stats. The point here is that the children are a gimmick, but a gimmick that gives you extra characters, with control over the way their stats and skills are set up. And, in past Fire Emblem games, there was plenty of characters that had nothing to do with the story, and could be missed without effecting it. I think I recall only one character that could be missed and who, if he wasn't missed, added to the story. Legault from FE7. Unless I'm mistaken, he's the only character who has a few lines of dialogue in a later chapter after you recruit him, but if you don't, he doesn't speak. It doesn't change the story in the end, but I thought it was a nice touch. Now, as to whether they should bring back children in later installments, well, that's iffy. I think that, for now, the child mechanic has overstayed it's welcome. Of course, I also think the Avatar mechanic overstayed it's welcome with Corrin, but that's another matter altogether. In Awakening, children had a legitimate reason for being there. It was a weak reason, but it was legitimate. That said, in Awakening, they had a reason to be there, but they also weren't shoved in your face. Now, Fates may not be shoving the children in your face either, but they also have no reason to be there. I mean, the main cast is fighting a war. I understand that, after a good fight, you get an itch you need to scratch, but, they should have realized it wasn't a good idea to scratch that particular itch, considering they were fighting a war. Until the first child is even conceived, they don't even know about the Deep Realms, so, they were doing this with the knowledge that half their army, the female half, might end up incapacitated for the rest of the war. That's exceedingly irresponsible for a soldier. If the child mechanic is to ever return again, it should be for a good reason, and for a story reason. To be honest though, something similar to Genealogy is the only good way to really implement it, but perhaps a few changes to how that was done to make it work. Like making the parent characters remain characters, but make them older, and maybe, as a result, show a decrease in their stats by one or two points, as well as a drop in their level by a few levels.
  14. I don't see what the issue is. Geneology of the Holy Wars had much worse then cousincest as part of the plot. Blazing Sword allowed you to to make Roy and Lilina, in Sealed Sword, cousins. The subtext of Ephraim and Eirika's supports could be taken to heavily imply twincest, and a lot of people actually believe that their paired ending does involve it. It doesn't. Awakening would allow you to marry a Lucina!Morgan to a Chrom!Inigo or Chrom!Brady, thus making it a Neice/Uncle pairing. Or a Lucina paired to a Chrom!Brady!Morgan or Chrom!Inigo!Morgan for a Nephew/Aunt pairing. And such a union is labeled as Husband/Wife. Naturally, you can also have cousin pairings in Awakening as well, though they're labeled as Companions instead. Incest is just simply a part of Fire Emblem. Just remember that this is a fictional universe where no one is actually real, so, if you don't like it, start over and plan your pairings to avoid it.
  15. No, I don't think so. If I'm not terribly mistaken, and making a complete fool of myself, I believe that despite fighting for you, she has her own turn as a green NPC unit. You can't trade with any green NPC unit, so Lilith is out too. I don't even think the green NPC units can even pick up items, so it's probably still on the rotting corpse of that soldier Lilith killed. I think he's using the Comic Sans font with the Bold on, just in case you were unaware.
