Pent/Louise: Power of love-When within three spaces of Louise/Pent, gets +25 to crit.

Isn't Pent already the best when he is in the supportrange of Louise? No need to make him into a magical FE6 swordmaster too.

They definitely need to do one of the two as it's definitely kinda odd how if it does mean the user dies in battle it's never mentioned in FE6. (I mean yeah I know FE7's a prequel but it would be odd if they remade both and they kept how it essentially kills the user in FE7 but never bring it up in an FE6 Remake.)

I personally second that they drop it because that would mean either nobody used armads canonically in FE6 or they just survived because yes(there is no such thing as an alternate endtext if someone ever used it at all. And it would be a waste of recourses to add it).

I thought when promoted Roy attacks with a regular Sword he just looks like normal un-promoted Roy?

That is the case. And unpromoted Roy even has the BB animation, even though that is obviously an unused specification because that cannot happen without cheats.(At the end of the day, both classes have the same animations tho and that is kinda lame.)

Come to think of it, unless it's a translation error of some kind, Louise seems to have some doubts that she and Pent could even have children in her B support with Guy: "If only Lord Pent and I could have children... We would love to see them grow strong and brave like you, Guy.

Ah, here we go again. Gotta pull out my trusty google translate again because I came to realize that more trusted sites are not really better in terms of translating japanese to english.

  5. I mean, he technically could have died before Roy reached pherae in the events after the game Kappa.
Without jokes tho, yeah, it is almost a wonder how he managed to stick around even tho he was technically the protagonistfather who was the closest to death outside of those that were already dead before the story of any one game started. But welp, I appreciate at least someone in the series getting a good ending no matter what.

But I want to test the fix though before posting here, because as I said, the injected code was everywhere in the ROM, and not just Hugh's stats were impacted. All the characters and possibly all the enemies are affected. That's why I want to make sure that my fix accounts for every possible outcomes before making it public.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply.

I worked on this because Gringe asked me if it was possible to erase this bug for his upcoming final (maybe?) translation version. So, the bug will be gone whenever the new translation version comes out.

Is it possible to inject the fix into other roms too? Just asking because I originally documented the bug to get it fixed in a hack of mine that was based on the older 1.0-release. And translations into other languages would also want to have the bug fixed. Not trying to be rude tho, just wondering.

  8. Appearently, according to additional research and a conversation with someone who can actually hack unlike me, the reason the glitch happens is because the ASM responsible for calling the statreductions for some reason subtracts from his classbases instead of his final unitstats(or even his characterbases if the former is not possible codingwise). The moment the value for a classstat becomes negative, it adds the 32 I mentioned to the stat because the game handles negative values that way.

No idea how that relates to the japanese version, but according to that person, that version somehow added values instead of subtracting. There is no easy way to look out for proof on that tho. Interessting thing of note tho is that the glitch does not happen when he is on the enemyside, but it stores the classvalue as negative for it to happen once he joins regardless.

And giving him hardmode bonusses can negate the glitch because those stats are counted towards classstats.(likely because only enemys were supposed to have them)

Note that "Demonic breath" displays in full on the item screen.

Why not call it Demonbreath to display it in battle correctly too?  I mean, it is your patch, but the reason "Binding Blade" was changed to "Binding Bld" was that it was clipping badly afterall. It looks really ugly and unprofessional when something done in thin fonts does not fit.

First off, the term we're looking for here is "midquel", as it takes place between FE6 and 7 (like how Thracia 776 takes place between a few chapters of Genealogy; that too is a midquel)

The Definition for "midquel" I found online is that it happens during the previous work instead of before or after it. So if they decide to go with the current canon instead of making it hectormode, it is by definition a prequel and not a midquel unlike thracia. I guess we should stop the discussion about mangacharacters on a Topic about merlinus tho.

I don't how a FE6 prequel would work, cause isn't that literally just FE7 by every regard?

FE7 happens 20 years before FE6 and follows events that were not considered until late into FE6s development while Als adventure would have taken place somewhen in those 20 years, most likely a few months before FE6. These two have nothing in common except for being prequels to FE6 by taking place beforehand. Als journey actually has better synergy with FE6 than FE7 does in theory, as it is about the same threat(Bern).

but I'd love for them to cannonize the manga characters

They are canon tho. Just that their adventure happened prior to the events of FE6 instead of intertwining with it like in the manga(which was based on a betascript anyways). I would much prefer there to be a prequelcampaign that focusses on that instead of just retconning that potential tale out of existance.

  13. A lot of characters should have more relevance in the case that they survive battle. I know that it might oversaturate the plot if all if-checks return true(aka. nobody dies), but it really would elevate the game a bunch. In the case of merlinus, I just voted to make him more relevant. The heck is his relevancy in the original? Setting up the plottwist of zephiel being a tragic villain-type of character? He kinda has little meaning for the high amount of lines he has and that should be fixed. And well, to make him like FE7 in Gameplay, you know. Because the way he works in the original is kinda bad.

"Armagh" as a graphic already exists with this spelling, but it does not seem to be used on the world map, so I just need to correct mentions of it in text. Easy.

Is this to futureproof the update? I am just wondering considering there is no real reason to change it currently. It just doubles your work if they decide to not go with the romanisation on that name later on.

Names like Leygance and Eidyna though—that actually affects terminology in my patch. Where were these two mentioned, and are there other names like this that have been used?

Leygance is appearently the name for the enemy that is called legance in this translation. Eidyna and Juteaux are the names for Edina and Jutes used in the FE6 lost lore-event. I think the name of the capital of etruria is also diffrent from this patch by like one letter, but I do not particularly remember that. I am not particularly angry at the translators themselves because they were just doing a Job(and like you said, they had no context), but it kinda makes me feel weird that we live in a world where companies rather pay people to literally just insert the romanisations of something and make everything noncehesive through it, instead of using 5 minutes of anyones time to copy perfectly fine fanmade renderings of names.

Anyways, when it comes to my patch, it is basically just a quality of life-thing that came out of me having worked on a german translation at some point and wanting to change stuff and also fixing minor oversights in this translation. So it is more of a sidegrade to a rebalance like the numbers patch...and I even included a compatible version of it after someone asked for it(obviously linking to your official release in the same post, I ain't no thief). Though, one should probably stay away if even a bit of unfaithfulness is enough to make one want to avoid something.
Actually, that reminds me, you actually still have the "Thanks for the assist" from all the way back in the Rom unless you already fixed it. No idea why, but roy talking to Jerrot/Zelots after that guy already joined is a diffrent textindex. Same goes for lugh talking to chad outside the village after someone else got to it, though that one has no errors because that one is just identical to chad getting to the village.

  16. "Binding Blade" IS too long. If the Icon was an ironsword, then it would work, but the Icon of the weapon  is just bigger than that and covers half of the first B. Gringe could of course just use thinner fonts to make it fit. In that case, I would also do that in my patch on FEU that uses the 1.0 of this translation as a basis.(edit:for reference, I have binding blade there but edited the itemicon to not abstruct it) Btw, have fun with the FEH localisations being kinda bad. I mean, aside from stuff like "Leygance" and "eidyna" giving me a strong rutoga-vibe, the code of the pegasusknights of Ilia is to never break a promise instead of never betray your employer now. I never actually managed to get people to look into if that was already an issue in japanese or if it really is a localisation-thing,..but it is official.

Does it always happen when you reload the quicksave after reducing Hugh's stats twice?

It seems that way. I tested it multiple times on multiple english roms and the results were consistant every time. I really strongly assume that it only counts as a rare glitch because people did not know how it triggers and people who got it were too spooked by the stats to make out the patern that they all suspended and reloaded at some point.

  18. We all know the glitch that makes Hugh really strong for no reason, that was introduced by Feditor back in the day(for reference, it really only occurs in the english version.)

The glitch has the weird status of being a completely unpredictable beast that has completely random effects on Hughs stats, but...it kinda is not. Like, not at all. It always happens in the same way and it always has the same effects. It happens after Hugh gets his stats reduced at least two times. After that, the player can suspend and reload the quicksave to get a halfway okay unit for basically free. 2 statreductions always mess with his attackstat and 3 reductions always mess with the attack and the skill-stat. I will attach a picture that shows the "unused behavior"(because it is impossible to occur without hacks) when his stats are lowered by 4 points(or more), which is just that each of his stats that get lowered, except luck and HP for some reason, get affected!

I have no idea what is actually happening in the game, but I wanted to clear up some misinformation regarding the topic(there were two prior topics about it that literally just said "Hey, it exists. can someone explain?") and want to explain what is happening and when it happens, so that maybe someone who can actually deal with code, unlike me, might be able to look into it. Since nobody knew the scope before appearently and thus it was unclear what to look out for. I appologise if the Information presented by me was already some common Knowledge around here.

(Just for reference, appearently the lowest his stats after the suspend can be is 32, which is 1 more than the maximum value that can be saved, if the individual stat is 0 after the statreduction. Just in case that is somehow relevant to finding out what is going on)
