  1. So I'm playing chapter 1 on H5 and I noticed if Abel (or any other lance/sword user) attacks the thief with the iron sword, the thief does 7 damage x 2, but if he uses the iron lance, the thief does only 4 damage x 2. Why is the difference 3? Additionally, Abel doesn't get a +1 attack bonus when using the iron lance. It doesn't work like this for the other enemies, it's just the usual +/- 1 for advantage/disadvantage.

  2. This has been a long time waiting.

The issue isn't that you don't know how to talk to women. The issue is a lack in social skills in general. This stems from no self-confidence, fear of the unknown... all that good stuff.

There's really only one way to fix this problem. You need to get off of the internet, go to a bar and start speaking to people. Even if you don't drink alcohol, still go to a bar rather than... anywhere else.

Bars are filled to people who are drinking simply to kill something inside, either major or minor. The general joke about alcohol is that it is the elixir of courage but in reality, it lowers a person's ability to keep his or her mouth shut. Most people sitting on a bar will talk your ear off about the most random shit that exists. Trust me, I work in nightlife and I know this for a fact.

What does this have to do with you? Simple. This is how you work on building social relationships. You simply need to keep a conversation going that has absolutely nothing to do with something that interests you. Again, alcohol will help but don't go overboard and get drunk. The important thing here is to understand that you can have conversations with people without giving a shit about how you look or if they care about the same things you do.

Take me, for example. I shit you not when I say this but my hair colour is currently sitting between blonde and green. Fact. Yet, I don't care if I look like a retarded leprechaun. I can still converse with people about things that I have absolutely no knowledge about whatsoever simply because I know how to keep a social relationship going. Dating is simply the next step after this one.

or you can just wear a hat, lol.

  3. Lord Raven,

FE9 Maniac mode 0% is certainly possible without the crit glitch, as I completed it. For Oliver, you'd just have Tibarn take him down on that map. If you ever want tips later on, let me know.

i got an alert on my scrub detector and it was pointed at you

255 crit is not even a glitch in FE9. someone's salty for no reason. vantage critforge calill in FE9 is fundamentally not much different from invincible haar in FE10, except she has less mov, doesn't fly, and therefore requires strategic assistance to get stuff done.

Oh please, you think you know everything because of all your LTC runs, most of which are garbage. I'm no longer wasting my time reading your omniscient opinions.

  4. He gets 2 1%'s (one at very poor hit with a javelin on a fighter) in chapter 3, and I imagine that's not the end of it (i haven't watched anything past chapter 4), although his units will likely be too strong to need them on anything other than bosses for the rest of the game probably anyway.

I'm gonna leave it at this though, I honestly agree with your view on the matter anyway.

Well, there really was only two choices in that instance. One, crit the enemies and win in 4 turns, or be conservative and win in 5. It's similar to dondon's chapter 8x where he could kill henning early with a very low chance, or just be conservative and take more turns. I don't think that should deserve any criticism.

I'm just against strategies like, throw calill in the middle of the battlefield killing everything by abusing the crit glitch + vantage, then seize once everyone's dead. Generally, there's always a way to be stealthy and improve the odds, and I just enjoy when players outsmart the AI rather than brute force through them.

  5. So I started my playthrough like a week before Irysa and I'm actually much further than him (I have actually constructed a plan for Chapter 13 and I'm finishing that up, while Irysa is finishing up Chapter 7). Having that said, I'm functioning as a bit of a resource for Irysa given that he can beat my TCs in a couple chapters here and there, but also bear in mind that Irysa is doing things like 7 stat rigs instead of my "try to get str/spd at best" type of stuff, so ultimately a lot of things between our playthroughs are going to be quite different logistically. Having that said,

Doesn't even make sense. Are my turn counts not low? It's not a lowest turn count playthrough anymore in that case, it's "just" a low turn count playthrough. And if we're gonna be harping on people for not giving lowest turn counts, then we should probably stop calling 0% growths an LTC because he didn't 4 turn Chapter 1 which he is perfectly capable of doing. Except for the fact that I was on Chapter 7-8 or so when Irysa finished up Chapter 3, and I wasn't going to go back to Chapter 3 to shave a single turn when I already had put a bunch of work into other chapters. This just means I actually haven't achieved the lowest turn count possible.

In the same vein, dondon was already far into his playthrough when he figured out the 4-turn, but the amount of shit you have to change around afterwards simply makes it not worth it.

There's also the fact that I can't really get a 5 turn of Chapter 7 without doing some stat rigging along the same lines as Irysa is doing. For all intents and purposes, you can consider my playthrough a straight-up LTC, and Irysa's playthrough an exploration of all possibilities. There's no competition here.

I didn't know that LTC stood for low turn count, i thought it stood for lowest turn count. I also thought you were recording chapters as you were completing them, I didn't think the whole run was already finished.

anyways, I didn't mean to insult your run or anything. chill out man

  6. I don't see why skipping the barrier staff will be such an issue. Since your units are getting perfect level ups, they'll all have passable resistance as well as decent durability and avoid, and you can rig enemy misses later on. Just because dondon said you might need it doesn't mean you will. I don't know why you don't just take the time to look ahead and ascertain the necessity of the barrier stuff. If it truly is needed, then at least you know whether to compromise for the 5 turn.

  7. Because some soundtracks have different and enhanced versions of the songs that was not in the original content.

Which is what these soundtracks are supposed to have. I don't understand your point. If you were expecting completely new songs, and not remasters, then I was saying that that's not the point of a soundtrack in the first place.

  8. As for setting growths to 100%, that's cheating. I think one of the more compelling things about runs like this is that you can still do this on a cart if you copy exactly what I do off fresh resets. Sure it'll take like, at least 5 minutes to do some of the RN burning manually compared to what I'm doing via scripting, but it's possible! That's partially why I'm listing the cycles I'm using too. I could actually have just settled for stuff like skipping resistance (since it's so low for most chars in this game) but I figure if I have the power to do it, I'm going to do it, and it's possible it makes a difference somewhere. Although there is probably an upper limit on how long I can spend burning RNs and have people still watch videos unless I start editing the video speed in those segments. But at the least, I'm only going to be rigging growths in that manner, not dodges and crits and shit.

Whether it's cheating or not to hack 100% growths for the purpose of an LTC, what you're doing is essentially the same thing. The end result is the same, minus the time wasted burning hundreds of RN's. Why do you think they prevented path retracing in RD? And honestly, no one is going to waste their time reenacting this run.

  9. I hate that song, so boring and not spectacular in any way imo. It also didn't sound depressing to me at all, just sounded bad and made me want to mute the music and listen to something else. I like the beginning part of crimea marches, congregation of ambition, black wings, brave general brave king, the black knight, against the black knight, and move out. I hate how they changed the black knight's theme in RD.

  10. Replace the text in the character palettes.txt in the Char and Class editor directory for FE6 with the text below. It should fix the issue.
