  1. Hey, its me again. Anyway, i havent made much progress since my last post, and ime here to tell you guys that i wont be able to for a while pretty quick here. This is due to a variety of reasons: 1) the Christmas season & family 2) some of my other interests/new interests taking up more time (like Homestuck) 3) school will be starting soon for me. anyway, ill post updates when something significant pops up, but things will probably slow down on this project as i try and finish other projects before school starts. anyway, have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year you all.

  3. Ok, i got the animation assigned to the action, now how do i take the "Custom Animation" and give it to a character?

  5. Yay, i remembered why i originally came on a few minutes ago. I want to give the Dance command to a non-dancer, but i need to know if there's a way to do that. i already tried and failed (and i think i know why, too. Non-dancers have no "Dancing" sprites). So i want to know if theres something i can do here to allow non dancers to dance. and the reason im asking is because i dont have the sheet. i saw the animation in both Elibian Nights and A Sacred Dawn. Im looking to score the sprite sheet for it.
  6. i do not know who sprited the Haliberdier. I was asking if anyone who frequented this spot on the forums knew. I can look for it, i was just wondering if someone already knew where it was (you know, to save me a little bit of trouble) And dont worry. I wont give away Lethality to just anyone. im well aware of its balancing implications. I might give Assassins the Steal command (and a slight stat-cap boost), and give Rouges a +15% crit boost (to help them in combat) Anyway... i forgot the main reason i came here... ...D****t ...Sigh... I'll edit when i remember.
  7. I thought so too Anyway, on another note: Anyone know where i can find the Battle Animation/Sprite Sheet for the haliberdier class? I think ive seen a couple different versions, but i would prefer the one based off of Ephraims Sprite
  8. well, maybe the animation glitch was caused by the other thing i was testing when i was testing the 1-2 range bow: I was testing to see if i could give single characters Lethality (which did work... just used normal crit. animation), and the glitch would happen when he fired at 1 range.
  9. ok, so i figure im about due for a status update, so here we are: I havent been working very hard on this lately, but i force myself to keep coming back to this project. I have confirmed replacements for 14 characters so far. I also have a list of about 10 more characters that may or may not make it into the game. they fall into the following categories: Hero characters Mercenary/Myrmidon/sword-using lords: 4 Knights: 1 Mages: 2 Priests/Clerics/Troubadours: 1 Archers: 2 Snipers: 1 Thieves: 1 Shaman: 1 Cavaliers: 1 Undecided chars: 4 Villain characters Mage knights: 1 Snipers: 1 Sages: 1 Other game changes possible inclusion of Haliberdiers (pending the finding of the sprite sheet) Soldiers promoting to Haliberdiers or Generals Snipers getting +15% crit Assassins can steal other changes pending new weapons/weapon changes Bolt Axe Flame Spear Sabre (lord weapon) a couple of unnamed tomes of dark magic renaming for some of the sacred weapons (mainly, Eirika and Ephraims Sacred weapons) Short Bows get 1-2 range (pending graphics fix, may need help on this one. when short-range bows crit, it uses normal attack animation) more to come

  11. well, thats odd. My text editor randomly started to work correctly. So (hopefully) that wont be a problem ever again. Everything else is going fine... Though i am running low on new characters, and i'm just to Chapter 2! Even though this may cause a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth... Any suggestions for characters? Wow. Its been a little more than a day since i posted the request for ideas, and ive had a grand total of 0 responses for that. Anyway, i still have a list of other things i could use some help with, to be listed below: 1) Can you change the weapons that summons come with? (Fe8) 2) How do i edit events in FE8? Like the battle between Seth and Valter at the beginning.

  13. Maybe its because im lazy, so i use the text search to find their name. i wouldnt think that would cause problems, but maybe i never got a memo or something.
  14. Yeah, i'll have a new cast for the most part. It might become a "self-insert" along with my friends, but i hope to avoid that, too. However, im bad with naming people. I cannot name characters, so... no OC's. Maybe i'll get a few anime/other game chars in, too. You know, like what Mageknight404 did. Actually, this might become a lot like an FE8 version of MK404's FE7 hack. With different characters, of course... Sigh... Ive hit the Text-editing blues. Seriously, every time i try to edit the names of the characters, it screws up the ROM. well, guess its off to the forums. Anyway, I use FEditor Adv, so, if you guys answer before i find an answer elsewhere, that will be important info, i guess.

  16. Im working on my story while i make the maps. Im only up to Chapter 2, so, i dont have much of a story. So, to that end, I am open to ideas and suggestions story-wise. Also, i do have a couple of things i need to know (i figure that theres threads for these, but ive got to be somwhere later today) 1) Is it possible to take out the world map for FE8, and if so, how difficult would it be? 2) I tried to put Eliwoods facial sprite in FE8 using FEditor Adv (in place of Erika), but it freaked out. Why did it do that, and how can i fix it? Heres a link to the Pic of Eliwood
  17. I have decided that im going to restart the hack using an FE8 rom instead of an FE7 rom. only 20 days till Cristmas! Yay!
  18. Well, i dont hate stairs. They just seemed to fit. And, while i do plan to post more Maps, i kinda want all the things related to this hack to kinda stay in one spot. Just so i dont have to keep changing threads and stuff. And i know about the edit button, but thanks for the tip
  19. ok, (hopefully) here they are: The Prologue Chapter 1 Tell me what you think of the maps. Im still trying to fix some of the floor-to-stairway spots, but thats mostly how the maps will stay.

  22. ok. so i need to find someplace empty to put my new map? And how do i put the picture of the map i made on here?
  23. i got the inserter already. If i make a map of the same size as the one i replace, can i put it at the same Offset as the one i want to replace without messing anything up? And Why do you hate tiled, anyway? Im not trying to bait you into a flame war, i need to know why, so that i know its drawbacks.
