  1. So its time for gratulations then, huh. No ok serioues, that game definetly deserve this. And I am still a little bit mad, that it was not a nominee for best music.
  2. The only war that is inevitable is that one directed against the TWSITD. Other wars ofc may happen but also may not. For your points regarding the other lords: - Dimitri: I dont think he is actually that stupid some people think he is. He knows that faerghus has no chance against the empire. So I dont think that he will declare war against them even if he knows of Arundels involvement in it. He certainly would do it if he had enough support (like from the knights of seiros or the alliance), but it is highly questionable that he will get that for an event that no one outside the kingdom cares for. Ofc Assassination is a possibility (and a declaration of war when failed) but so is exposing the truth. If he somehow manages to connect Arundel to lets say the experiments on Remire village (Which are still imperial citizens after all) and other shady stuff TWSITD do he might get rid of Arundel without conflict. (Thales would probably just take a new host/look, but if he gets wind of that then the inevitable war against TWSITD follows). - Claude: Unfortunately I didnt play Verdant Wind but I always saw him as the shemer guy who probably would use violence to achieve his goals but not as a first choice. Also he is not stupid. You cant get rid of centuries of prejudges instantly. So I think the way he will try to achieve his dream of almyran/fodlan relations is nice and slowly through setting the right people in the right places.
  3. I would say Marianne from Golden Deer and Mercedes from blue lion because they are quite the faithful ones. Maybe also Petra from Black Eagles as in CF Route the church tried to get Brigid on their side.
  4. Didnt we already have a thread for this? But I think already beeing the second best selling (non mobile) game in the series in just two months is quite the sucess right? We probably outsale Fates around christmas and will settle somewhere between 2-3 Millions Copies in total. At least if I interpret these numbers right: https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Fire_Emblem I think this is a good sign for the series and things will hopefully start to steamroll from here on (also a sign that the homeconsole is also a place where the series belongs). I am curious how the sucessors of this game will do.
  5. Well the thing with the divine right to rule comes from Rhea herself. We dont know exactly why she decided to put her old enemy in charge of vast amount of lands and cement their authority (maybe the dlc will tackle these questions) but the most convincing theory is that her forces were just tired of war and she needed somehow to achieve peace fast. Therefore she needed to offer the remaining leaders of the enemy faction a really good reason to lay down weapons. And including them into the new ruling body seemed to her answer for that (something that happened in medieval europe also a few times btw). After that she could not easily go back without risking another war. And while the actions of the nobles reveal them to be human trash what have they actually done to blame them? Not loving their children if they dont have crests. Forcing them to marry based on crests. Mistreading them to make them obidient. Belittling them if they dont have crest. And more in the same region. All things that -as mentioned- show their ugly faces. But what of that is really a reason to wage war over? Most of it wasnt even illegal in our world a few hundred years ago and it certainly dont seem to be in fodlan. The only thing that may be an argument is the human experimentation and sacrifing of the TWSiTD. But it seems that almost no one knew about it and the victims (and the church) had zero proof for any it.
  6. She could send her Knights there if the ruling Lord over that territory requested her aid. I dont think it is ever mentioned or hinted at that they could go as they please. On contrary on multiple occassions we learn that they do a missions because the authority over that part of the world requested their help or at least allowed the intrusion. So I find it quite logical to assume that the other missions are handled similiary until I ofc I have missed some evidence that claims the opposite.
  7. Well I think here we have to clearly devide between the lore of the game and the mechanics behind it. So I dont think that every skirmish really happened (that would mean that the empire and kingdom would constantly loose whole cities to rebell forces - something that is definetly not canon.) But it seems to be right that the lords of fodlan have much use for skilled mercenaries, as the group around your father also seemed to be booked out quite frequently. And the Knights beeing basically a glorified troop of elite mercenaries may be really requested in that kind of enviroment.... but wasnt your original point that they could basically overthrow the ruling lords whenever they feel like it? I dont see any evidence for that, heck in most of the routes they need the support of the kingdom or alliance to beat the empire alone and in some even with that it is not enough. But against all three forces of fodlan combined the dont have the slighest chance at all. And thos power most likely would come together if the church suddenly starts a holy war to replace the ruling caste .... from history we can tell that they dont like things like this at all. I think the military power of the central church is higly overestimated. Most likely because the knights of seiros overestimated themselves before the war. After all they are elite mercenaries that squashed regularly their enemies on the battlefield. But they dont have numbers on their side. And in an all out war that counts the most. Something they had to learn the hard was in most of the routes.....
  8. While there is neither any evidence in support or against that Enbarr is protected, most of the ancient magic are actually advanced technology. And from the description of this "Protective Power" (changing the course of the missile to hit somewhere else) it sounds quite like a device that messes with navigationprogramms of the rocket. (Interestingly the Sci-Fi Series "Battlestar Galactica" utilized similiar devices as protective "shield" against missiles, but that is another story... ) And if there is one device that can do that it is highly likely that there were more of them to protect critical parts of nabatean society in the war. The main aspect of technology is after all that you can easily copy it as long as you know what you are doing and have the materials for it.
  9. Maybe Enbarr was also protected quite similiar to Garreg Mach. It was after all the place most of the Nabateans sought shelter after the war. So it was probably protected.
  10. I wouldnt say true intentions. Her true intentions were to resurrect Sothis go back to Zanados and live happily after. Its more like the worst mental state she could get into. Quite similiar to Dimitri in Verdant Wind and Edelgard in Azure Moon. Because everyone who opposes Byleth opposes gets a mental breakdown....
  11. Have a look on the wiki. Otherwise Golden Deer Route gives a lot of Background information.
  12. Well it is at least at big as Leicester from the map alone. And there it is cut off by the border of the map. But in the lore they mentioned almyra contains whole desserts, praires and mountain ranges in it i always thought of it as massive. So if Fodlan is in the seize of Europe I think Almyra is more comparable to Russia.
  13. Isnt Almyra not like really huge? Therefore isnt Saying that it now belongs to Leicester Alliance like saying the USA is now a part of Puerto Rico.😅
  14. Well I would like Manakets to be able to turn into their dragon form. Or recruitable Agathians that can change between their human and not so human form. Or the abillity to turn into a demonic beast fora few rounds.... So I voted yes, but I am not a fan of the other shapeshifter ideas which look like their only there to have shapeshifter classes. I also wouldnt implement them as extra classes but as an alternative to the gambit system. So instead of beeing follwed by a goon squat they can send at someone 3 times a battle these shapeshifters could turn into a dragon (e.g.) for 1 round 3 times a battle.
  15. You can find 30 pages of these kind of discussions in this thread alone were this was tried. And it led to nowhere but constantly spinning in circles with larger and larger wall of texts. Without core questions/claims that all parties can agree to try to solve the discussion becomes quite meaningless as then there cannot be any answers. But if you are not interested in a structured discussion I can understand that. It was an experiment from me to begin with.
  16. I wouldnt say that. From the A-Support between Edelgard and Hubert we know that the adrestian emperor has the right to execute everyone (with official duties) which refuses to obey to his/her orders. Therefore, I cannot imagine that attempted murder of a political leader will be punished with anything less. That the students are spooked by this is most likely because they not often witness these judgements. I mean for example in some states of America there is death penalty till today. But if you take a random class from these states and let them actually witness the execution there also will be spooked by it.
  17. Well I was of the opinion that the church route was unnecessary and it would be better to salvage the few differences it has and give it to azur moon. And therefore give us a proper Crimson Flower with some actual TWSITD Interactions. (And Demonic Beasts as allied siege weapons ....) But playable Rhea would change my opinion a lot i think. I always liked the concept of manakete characters and was quite sad that our playable manakets cannot turn into dragons.... Lorewise you could nerf them by saying that they cannot constantly stay in their dragon form (because of corruption etc) and gameplaywise it could be implemented by replacing the strategem option. So that you have to choose between having a goon squat with you or turning into a dragon for one round (maybe 2-3 charges). Then also give that abillity to Seteth and Flayn and I am happy. Oh maybe in Crimson Flower you could also add the abillity of turning your units temporally into Demonic Beasts. Like Edelgard did to herself at the end of Azure Moon.
  18. That is because I first wanted to have a list of charges against Rhea. Like in a real court the prosecuting attorney starts with what acusses the defandant is charged with. Otherwise I have the feeling we are just spinning circles with the same arguments over and over, going through wall of texts and quote wars until someone gets bored. I went to this now multiple times so I want to try a little bit more structured discussion as an experiment to see if it gets a little bit more progression. So is this the complete list? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Creation of Hosts for Sothis - Executing Criminals without proper Court - Lying (about history, the nature of Sothis, herself, ...) - Keeping the Nobility in Power through Inaction and sacral authorisation --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because then I would organize my argumentation around these topics and fill each point with evidence and quotes where I think Rhea is guilty and where not. I just wanted to make sure that we start with the same fundament we can always fall back to. Because otherwise I have the feeling a discussion will go to nowhere.
  19. And a move that will backfire quite hard if the truths ever got out. But noone questioned her cunningness. She just no hero but a cunning and sympathic villain.
  20. I was just wondering if you agree that Edelgard and Rhea act in quite similiar ways why you love one and disgust the other. As you have written before two posts. But back to topic I think Rheas Sins (whatever that means in the end) can be summarized to these list: - Creation of Hosts for Sothis - Executing Criminals without proper Court - Lying (about history, the nature of Sothis, herself, ...) - Keeping the Nobility in Power through Inaction and sacral authorisation If you agree to the list we can discuss it step by step. Because most of the stuff I dont believe shes acting that evil, but lets see. Otherwise we just write wall of texts until noone knows which argument goes to which claim. If you disagree please tell me what to add.
  21. Oh you are misinterpreting my intentions. I dont want to defend or forget anything, I want to learn. Thats why I asked for quotes. Because I have come to the conclusion that most discussion about this topic (or when discussing Edelgards action) are based on feelings and baseless speculation instead of whats actually going on in the game. So I would be happy when you tell me where i can find the evidence to support your claims. In return I will try to do so myself. To this specific topic I know that she cloned people. "Experimenting" on people implies that the process causes heavy agony and pain (see support with Edelgard and Lysenthia who were really experimented on). Do we have any quote that something like that happened? On the other side from the dialoge with Jeralt (unfortunately I dont remember the chater) we know that Byleths Mother was a nun at the Monastery. Thats makes it highly unlikely that she was tortured or had to endure painful experimentation as she would probably run away if that was the case. Also Jeralt (her husband) has never mentioned anything about that and would most likely never allow his son/daughter to be a teacher there if his/her mother would had to endure horrifing experimentation there. So, If its only cloning I dont even know if it would be illegal in the country i currently life in. But for sure you dont get death penalty for doing it. And you think that Edelgard - if we she were in the same position - wouldnt do exactly the same thing? No we actually know what she would do - she lets Hubert deal with it. We can clearly see that in her A Support with Hubert where he admits getting rid of assassins for her and she only requests to tell her that - never to stop doing it. In the same Support it is also mentioned, that she as the emperor has the right to execute anyone (or at least anyone with official duties) if they refuse to follow order. No court mentioned. So it seems to me that human rights are not really a thing in fodlan and death penalties much more the norm then in our modern society. It is quite likely to assume that the Arch Bishop has similiar privileges as the emperor at least in Garreg Mach - where she is a de facto ruler of the city state. And if the refusal to follow orders is punished with execution the the (attempted) assassination of the public figure will not have a milder penalty. Therefore her actions, while surely barbaric from our perspective, dont seem to be that uncommon in fodlan. What are you reffering to? And Edelgard has done exactly the same thing. In Arianrhod we knew that she lied to put blame on the church which was completly innocent on this matter (MIssion Briefing cutscene after chapter 16) and that was never corrected. From the cutscenes after chapter 12 in any non BE-Route we also know that she blames the church to be the mastermind behind the splitting of the empire. Why we cannot proof that she was lying, as we have seen no evidence whatsoever in any of the routes supporting this claim I see this as imperial propaganda at well. But if you have anything that implies that they were guilty of doing this please let me know. What exactly are you reffering to? As I mentioned before I am happy to learn. Just please include quoted evidence to your claims, it is hard to discuss something on a basis of speculation.
  22. Might given me a list of all the sins Rhea had commited that made her deserved cruel death (for her and her entire race)? From before the time skip I mean. Preferable with quotes from the game so I can also look them up. Because all I came up with is: - Lying - notourisly to hide things that could hurt her, which allowed some bad people to get quite powerful positions. - Not actively going to continent wide war to stop the Nobles from abusing their power. She has opposed them verbally however. - Executing people that tried to kill her - beeing a really scary lizard Because I have the feeling most highly exagerating the evil that she has done to excuse the continent wide war with uncountable death, becoming orphans or losing children, friends, lovers.... If only there would be a person who is known to care for the weakest amoung the humans, like the orphans for example ...... oh wait I know one ....
  23. Exspecially as Byleth doesnt serve any purpose in that scene. That scene was also bothering me comparing how logical they made the death scene of Jeralt.
  24. Also starting a war where countless innocents die - Or get orphans - Or loose loved ones is a much more serious bad thing then retaliating against an army that have attacked you. One can be considered self defense the other one an aggressive act.
