  1. I've always been fine with the "main villain switch" myself. I do think the idea of both having an active presence throughout the game would have been interesting though. And I already know the perfect opportunity to implement that: You know the brats that get kidnapped at the beginning of the game, kickstarting Link's entire adventure? Ever wondered why? Because I have, and the only conclusion I can come to is "because we needed a reason for Link to go on his adventure". Have Ganondorf be behind that, and give him some kind of motivation. Like, maybe Ilia has the Triforce of Wisdom in this game instead of Zelda, or something like that?

  2. To be fair to myself, I avoided the majority of pre-release information so I could get into the game as blindly as possible, but yeah, I did not see Edelgard being the Flame Emperor coming at all. I played Verdant Wind first, and I remember wondering whether the Flame Emperor would be a different character each route, with Edelgard's route using Dimitri as the antagonist and Dimitri's using Claude, or something like that.

  3. Interesting idea. Personally, I'd say yes, but only if, as you mentioned, the player has a way of predicting what the opponent will do. Maybe that's just me, but I tend to play in a style that minimizes risk while still being as efficient as possible, and if the AI is too unpredictable, that playstyle goes out the window.

Oh yes, this so much. That may be one of the best-delivered lines in the game.

    (CF spoilers below)

This sequence also really got to me. Have you seen the version of the scene where Dedue survives? I really liked that one too. (I also liked how your actions in the battle could affect things there, even if sadly there's no way to save Dimitri.)

I have not, actually. What do you have to do to have Dedue survive?

So ever since the latest update, my adjutants are no longer earning support points with people. Was that intended, or a glitch?

EDIT: It's actually just the display of getting support points that's gone; they are still earning the points. Still weird, though.

Speaking of those, does anyone know if the activation rate glitch for attack adjutants has been fixed by now?

Does anybody know what causes the eastern and western merchants to appear? I assumed it was at the start of a certain chapter, but here I am with them only appearing in the middle of the month for chapter 5. My Byleth just hit level 15. I can't think of any other trigger I may have just hit.

There's a side quest you'll have to complete for that. It's an auxilliary battle.

Does anyone know if cooking bonuses stack? Like if I cook 3 plus 1 speed meals does that result in plus 1 speed or plus 3 speed? I tried once but I can't remember and I don't want to waste ingredients and activity points if it doesn't stack. Also does cooking a different type overwrite the other or can you mix types of bonuses?

You can mix and match too.

  8. I feel like to make Mortal Savant work, you'd really need to give the class something unique. @PPPPPPP270 made a good point.

In my experience training two different proficiencies throughout most of the game when you will only ever realistically use one 90% of the time just isn't worth the effort. I tried Mortal Savant Felix by going through a sword user route, and by the time he could use magic it was barely ever worth doing. I also did Mortal Savant Ingrid via mage route, and by the time she got there, she was so good at magic that using a physical weapon never seemed necessary.

In my mind, to fix the class, it either needs to have something really special that no other master class can offer, or needs a better class progression. Tactitian and Grandmaster from Awakening comes to mind here - I remember I used both weapon types frequently in that game when using Robin.

Honestly a good way to make fogs of war maps fairer for the players is just have enemies unable to target players unless they got within 2 squares of them, so the same restrictions as the player apply. As is, players aren't able to target enemies in fog of war, so why should the converse not hold true?

Doesn't that defeat the point of a Fog of War map in the first place, though? Talking from a gameplay perspective here.

Is it a wonder people are so sick and tired of this crap they don't even go to vote anymore? Or that people doubt their every word and see only lies and deceit in each and every single one of them?
I'd say the answer is a big, fat no.

Speaking of, I think this is exactly the reason why people are radicalizing themselves these days: they feel abandoned by their government because they don't hold to a single promise they made and make politics that actively goes against the common folk. The way I see it, radical groups are always a direct result of a failed government/politics. Think Weimar Republic for a historic precedent to what's going on today.

Yeah, pretty much. It's like they don't really give us a choice and then they're confused people are fed up with them. The sad result is the rise of the AfD ("Alternative for Germany" for you non-Germans), and it makes me sick.

    Biggest lie ever told.
Right next to "Niemand hat die Absicht, eine Mauer zu bauen!" (No one has the intention of building a wall) *proceeds to build said wall the very next day*, and "We will get rid of Hartz 4" (they didn't) and of course the classic "we won't raise sales tax to 19%" (right before raising it to 19%).

... I knew there is a reason I don't trust anything politicians say.

You can add "we will do something against climate change" to that pile of lies German politicians like to tell.

  12. I don't think we've talked before, since I haven't interacted with this community much outside the Three Houses board, but I'll chip in anyway: Whatever gender you, and others who came out as trans in here, identify as, is the one I'll accept you as. Keep fighting the good fight and don't let inconsiderate people get you down. 🙂

Relevant formula is listed in https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/comments/d0w2hr/an_analysis_on_the_monastery_autolevelling/

Note that total Def and Res growths (i.e. Character Def/Res Growth + Enemy Class Def/Res Growths) are capped at 60% however, something that isn't mentioned in the original post.

Oooh, okay. Not what I was looking for unfortunately. I was hoping there would be some kind of table with the average growths per level-up so I could check what the average stats for my units were to see if anyone got screwed.

Come to think of it, that should be doable in Excel, right?

    Thanks anyway for the link!

*edit* Nevermind, found what I was looking for.

Who's the ideal dancer in CF in your opinion? I definitely agree that Linhardt should never dance, but Dorothea seems to be popular in that role. If I am not mistaken, her Meteor support links work even if she's dancing. Dancing does make it hard for her to use Psychic, though, which could be an issue if you're playing recruit-less. Don't want to go too off-topic, but I'm curious to know your opinion.

In my experience, Dancer Dorothea's Physic really wasn't that useful outside of clutch situations, since it didn't heal enough. She could have been magic screwed though.
