  1. Every report that I have seen regarding this topic claimed that this game was being co developed alongside three houses similar to how path of radiance was being developed alongside sacred stones. From what I can tell, that 3DS game wasn’t 3H
  2. There are only three games I want and I’ll never ask for another game again: Half life 3, Demon’s Souls Remastered, and a FE4 Remake. we know that a remake is in the works because there was a shelved 4th game on the 3DS that was a remake. it could be PoR because of some of the leaked information, it could be FE6 because the director showed interest in it, or it could be FE4 because it’s next in line. i hope it’s FE4. I don’t think FE9/10 need to be remade. They hold up very well. A remaster of them would be great though and I think would be a cool and easy thing for IS to do to hold off fans for the remake. a warriors game would be nice because it wouldn’t be IS making it, it would be KT. I think it would just pander to 3H though. They shafted so many games in the first one. (Where’s my boy Finn?) i would love a new paper Mario game, but I hope they do something tomorrow. I know IS may be burned out from FE, but I just hope something cool will happen and it not just be heroes garbage.
  3. Because it is the 30th anniversary, it would make the most sense to announce the game. We already know the next game is a remake due to the news that there was a fourth 3ds game that was cancelled. Everyone already knows it’s in development so it makes sense to announce it on Monday.
  4. From the list of things you pointed out, the only thing I had incorrect was supports in FE11 (They’re invisible so they can be easy to miss) The other content in your post was more or less opinion on how to improve the wording, lanuage, ect, of the poll itself which I appreciate. So I’m not sure where me not being knowledgeable comes from unless you would like to point out more mistakes I’ve made (feel free).
  5. Sorry mods for the double post. i said the list I put together is not perfect and I may have put items on the poll that may not belong or may have forgotten. I’ll remove the no villages and boots. For Dungeons, I find the dungeons in FE8 and FE15 to be similar enough to where they can be considered the same thing. Although I do see the argument that they are different.
  6. My bad. Fixed. A bit “dickish” but thank you for the critique regardless.
  7. If i've learned anything about the Fire Emblem community, its that you can't please everyone. What I am curious about is which is democratically the best Fire Emblem mechanics. Think about it this way, if a new game was to come out, which mechanics and systems from older titles should be included. I don't want to talk about new mechanics that have not been implemented in a Fire Emblem game before, but rather mechanics that have been in previous titles that have either remained the same or have gone through several iterations. Here is an example, "Which support system from previous titles is the best." For this poll, I've included two things: one being a link to the poll itself and another is a chart displaying the game in which old mechanics were used. It's not perfect, but i think i have most of the mechanics covered. If you are looking at a chart and section may not make sense, the question corresponding to that section of the chart is better explained. 8. I missed the awakening part. But FE4 generals I think are an interesting topic of discussion. Wether they get buffed or not doesn’t really bother me, although I think something needs to be done to make Arden shine a little more. I hope Arden, as well as other units, get more conversations with each other on and off the battle field as well as more events like Arden finding the ring.
  9. I completely agree. It's just because of Arden being left behind that he falls behind a little faster than the rest. That's why if the game had more moments like the dragons in chapter nine or Pamela Attacking the northern castle in chapter 4, Arden and Hannibal would leave a greater impression. Don't get me wrong, i love both units and try to use them as much as possible (since every unit is a net game), i just think they need a few more "hey, check this out moments" that are taylored just for them.
  10. What did i miss? Are we still talking about armor knights? I honestly don't see a way to make armor knights good units in FE4. Arden and Hannibal do get useful items, but i think the class is flawed from the core of the series. My favorite unit in the entire series (Gilliam) is an armor knight and even i will admit he is not that good. However, I would not want FE4 without Arden or Hannibal: Arden because he is funny and its satisfying to get him to a point where enemies just ignore him because he is so strong, and Hannibal for story reasons. I think the best thing they can do for Arden is make it easier for him to level up and give him more funny dialouge options so that he exists in the game for comedic effect. Hannibal is fine as is because there is no way to speed him up without drastically changing the class. Maybe adding more enemy reinforcements that are taylored specifically to Arden and Hannibal so that they would see more use. In ranked play, they see plenty of use but to average players, they are underused. I think anything added for them specifically would be great.
  11. Sacred Stones has and always will be my favorite Fire Emblem Game. So what better thing to do to my favorite Fire Emblem game then by making it insufferable to play! Inspired by FE12's Lunatic Reverse mode, I have modded every enemy in the game (and summon-able phantoms) with Vantage+. Vantage+ allows the holder to always attack first regardless of what HP they have. The skill also says it negates criticals, but this feature doesn't appear to be working which is just what i wanted. In addition to adding the skill to every enemy, these are the other changes I have made: Removed every other skill from every unit except for class skills such as Slayer, Canto, and Sureshot Removed the Enemy Control Glitch Removed Leadership Stars as they proved to be too overpowered. (although the game may get so hard that they may be needed back) Changed Seth's character description Added Finn as a recruitable unit in chapter 8. Why? Because I like Finn. He's optional though. Just visit the very top of the map to recruit him. Made Moulder a Boulder Added Phantom animation I was also wanting to make a true "Lunatic Reverse" mode by upping the growths of every enemy, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I haven't gotten through the entire thing yet but it seems to be working fine so far. Please let me know if you encounter any bugs. Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones Hard Reverse.ups
  12. For the first several years of me playing FE8 i didn’t even know skills were a thing. The ones in sacred stones are pretty lazy except for Slayer and occasionally Pierce. I don’t think the GBA engine is good for skills. The skills patch for FE8 is awesome but they make sacred stones way easier than it actually is.
  13. For context, to AAAA FE4, it requires you to spend no more than 34/35 turns per chapter on average. So me going around 40 means I’m going slower than a ranked pace but not so slow for grinding live and what not. 40 was also a bit high which was my bad. The prologue and be completed in around 25-30 turns. I got the 40 number because chapter 2 takes forever to complete. I apologize as I did not word my statement that well. What I meant to say was because Sylvia can dance for 4 people, it is very unlikely she will end up next to someone and someone would have to be deliberately put there. I did not mean to imply she would not get married. I realized it could be misconstrued that way after I posted. now for her having the leg and knight ring, that is the best way to utilize her. However, I find it a bit difficult to be able to give both rings as Sylvia can’t always get that much money. In the case she has both rings, simply don’t put her next to other units. Put her next to a girl or just leave a space behind a unit. So what if Arden can solo gen 1? That doesn't change the fact that mounted units are favored to an obscene degree, and are all the better if they have a holy weapon or Pursuit; of course, the best units have all three. Also, those other games you mentioned are still more balanced than FE4. None of them give me a mounted lord who starts overpowered and stays that way, for starters. And none of them have entire weapon types being practically unusable, either. Not to mention that those other games you mentioned also don't have bigass gaps in terms of unit quality. Sure, most games are gonna have those units that are just better than everyone else, but FE4 takes it to another level - those with a horse, holy weapon or Pursuit end up being much more useful than the average unit in your army. I don't think the gap between, say, PoR Titania and PoR Rolf is as big as the difference in usefulness between Sigurd and Arden. About the only game that I'd say would have a usefulness gap as big is Binding Blade, which, coincidentally, is another title where mounted units are favored up the wazoo. I agree that the Gap between every unit compared to Arden is massive and I’m by no means saying he is a good unit. But to say he is unusable while going at a fast pace is untrue. In order to get the highest rank possible, it requires giving Arden 20 levels and completing the game in 399 turns. It can be done, although it is not easy. Just like with Arden, all units must level up 20 times and it’s impossible to get to that level with the arena. Unlike Arden however these units can fight and pick off left over enemies with ease. I understand that during your time playing, you found it difficult to use infantry. You just played a certain way and that’s fine. You clearly got through the game doing so. If you want to go fast and not use infantry, then sure. If you want to spend more time planning that way you can efficiently use everyone, then go ahead. I’m not telling you how to play, but from my time playing the game, I’ve been able to use everyone (except Arden, although my brother did) Vanessa joins in chapter 2 and has way more time to grow. While Tana has higher growths than Vanessa (except for skill and res), Tana Joins way underleveled and at the time, very much weaker to Vanessa. In draft runs, people who don’t have Vanessa but have tana have to grind Tana in the tower for her to actually compete in a race. If someone was playing the game without grinding, Tana would never catch up unless she is being fed kills left and right. although I love Syrene (syrenexgilliam) her bases are not as good as a promoted Vanessa.
  14. I agree, Arthur is the best inheritor for forsetty. I still however don’t see the problem with footlocked units. In all of my playthroughs of the game, I have consistently found a use for all units. I don’t really go that slow either, beating chapters in under 40 turns. Dew sucks at combat and I don’t think anyone would say otherwise. It take a lot to get him to promote. But I don’t think FE4 is as imbalanced as you say it is since every character has proven to be able to solo gen 1, even Arden. Every game has broken mechanics and broken characters. FE8 has Seth, Franz, and Vanessa, FE13 has Robin w/ Chrom/Fredrick, FE12 has Kris and Palla, FE7 has Marcus, ect. FE4 is a game of the rich get richer, that is true. But what is great about the arena is that you can do it at any castle. Say Alec can’t complete the arena on chapter 3 at the start. You can play the chapter a little bit, get him one or two levels, have Ayra drop off the hero sword at the shop, and then have Alec get one or two more rounds further in the aren. He may not complete it but it’s more experience then he had before. If they have something other than gold, then by all means save it. What I’m trying to say is sending Dew to burning villages to get tons of gold from bandits is a really good idea and rewards you more gold than actually visiting it. He doesn’t have to kill the guy, just swipe and run off. I’ve never had an issue with this strategy. Why on earth would you ever have to worry about anyone marrying Silvia. She dances for all characters adjacent to her meaning that when you finish your turn, odds are there won’t be anyone next to her. And if you are really worried about people sitting next to each other (for whatever reason) just.... don’t place them next to each other that often. It’s really not that hard. Now I want to make it clear that the love system in genealogy is very primitive (not that great) and can be improved. I actually REALLY want it to be improved and have more support conversations between units that happen in the field and in the home castle. I don’t want something like 3H but something inbetween GBA and Echoes. My issue comes from people saying it’s the worst thing ever when it’s actually easy to do. I find pairing in the GBA titles to be much harder
  15. I will have to disagree. All of the women in gen 1 are foot units (except of Lachesis after promotion). If you were to only use horses, then your children would either be complete trash because you paired them with under leveled units, or you didn’t pair them at all so you are left with substitutes. there are TONS of incentives to use your infantry units. They just require some thought on how you can use them. Most of them are pretty easy to use with only a few of them requiring some big brain plays.
  16. I personally don’t want many if any changes to be made to FE4, but this is actually one of my complaints. While Dew is a VERY good utility unit, he is a completely garbage combat unit. I know it’s supposed to be like this but getting him to promotion is hair pullingly difficult. Same goes with Arden. These units in my opinion need to be buffed.
  17. Ya, Dew will get rekt in his joining chapter. Chapters after that however, it’s best to have Dew steal from bandits and run off somewhere else and either leave the village to be destroyed or have someone else clean up and get a small amount of gold on top of what Dew Stole. Each one of this burning bandits have 5000 gold. Of course if their is an item in the village, then by all means, save it.
  18. Infantry units always have something to do. I think the best use of infantry units are them being units who attack “second.” What I mean by this is that your mounted units attack and canto away, while your infantry moves ahead. The enemy will then move their units closer to yours and by the next player phase, the infantry will be able to attack and participate. This is pretty much how most of the linear chapter battles happened for me. I didn’t really have a problem with this. Funny, because I found the romance system in 3H to be less controllable than any other game in the series. It became a joke between me and my brother that we wouldn’t know who would end up with who because when you get to a certain point in the game and most conversations have been read, you couldn’t change who was with who. Both my brother and i tried to sway the game for Claude to be with Hilda but in both cases, he ended up with Lorenz. Neither of us felt in control of the system. I bring this up because i never had an issue pairing units. If one the units was on a horse, you could just canto back into the person that your trying to marry. And besides, you don’t need to have characters fall in love right away, just them give a turn hear and a turn there and it should happen. What’s really funny is that it’s actually better just to have Dew steal the gold from the bandits rather than actually saving the villages. You get more money that way.
  19. That’s my point. Just because a character doesn’t have pursuit doesn’t mean they are not usable. Even units that have neither such as Jamke and Lewyn excel in some other way. Maybe not in the most important way (movement) but both can still fight and perform some tasks while your mounted units are off doing something else. And why does it matter that a fire emblem game is balanced. Every fire emblem game can be broken in some way and that’s part of the fun.
  20. I think too many people give pursuit a bad rap for being too OP. Yes it is broken but just because some characters don’t have it doesn’t mean those characters are useless. Chaz said in a video that any character you receive should be seen as a net gain. noish: while an average unit, he is supposed to be tag teaming with alec. So his strength comes from Alec. For the arena, he can just use a horse slayer, brave sword, or armor slayer to progress further. quan: he is just beefy and tanky. While he may not always kill, he is more than capable of dealing a massive blow and allowing weaker characters like Alec and Arden to get the kill. lex. Lex is a tank and deals good damage, but requires the brave axe to one round enemies. Aiden: she is mainly suppose to be healing so she doesn’t need it. Dew: dew is actually someone I thinks need Dew to make up for the fact that he doesn’t fight often and spend his time running around. Jamke: a machine gun. Almost always reliable but can sometimes let you down. Lachesis: turns into a broken master night. Doesn’t need to Double. Lewyn: about as reliable as Jamke. He will kill almost everything most of the time. So I don’t think he needs it. sylvia: isn’t supposed to fight.
  21. If an avatar gets added, I’m rioting. But I think it’s possible they will add in one more female unit into the game thus giving the 5 remaining male units an extra partner. This will create 4 extra units in gen 2 so 5 new units total. i don’t think it’s wrong that swords are good in this game. Swords have been shafted in every game after FE5. Your units are balanced around the weapon system. Even though swords are broken, Lex still kicks butt with the brave axe, Quan while only attacking once does major damage with the silver lance, Finn has miracle and gets the brave lance, and Furry reliably doubles. I don’t think weapon weights need to change.
  22. You have a point. Many nerfs were made in SoV that make the game less broken. Which is a shame because breaking games can be really fun. That’s one of my few praises I can give to 3H. 3H is a sandbox (albeit a somewhat limited One) where you can goof around and do funny stuff. I don’t want sandboxes like the one in 3H to return but I’m okay with it here because it makes the game unique. It’s a shame they took away items in SoV that gave you massive stat boosts and whatnot but for the most part, it was very faithful. I’m all for a hard mode. I definitely think tweaks can be made to the game that keep the core gameplay intact while also making the game more approachable. I want the game to stay the exact same but I want as many people to experience the story in its fullest as possible. I think giving 1 extra moment to footlocked units would be a HUGE buff to at least make them almost on par with mounted units. However, if you give a movement to Arden, you give a movement to the enemies as well which I don’t like. I don’t think this is an easy solution but I’ll take a crack at it. Arden: I think Arden can have a few more events that give him stats and I would make Pavise inheritable. That is it. It would give people and Insentive to train a really bad unit so that you can have really good kids. It’s a good reward. With help from Dew and the brave sword, Arden can level up but even then, it’s not easy. azel: I would give mages a slight increase to EXP growths and give Azel a bit more speed so that he double more reliably. If anything, just give azel more speed at base. He turns into a very competent unit after he promotes but I find that he difficult to train to the point where you don’t get to see him in action for long. Aidean: I wouldn’t change anything Dew: Dew is the trickiest person to use. His only purpose is to give gold (which is VERY important) but his combat sucks which makes him very hard to level up. I think giving him miracle would be too broken so I would just give him pursuit OR raise his EXP growth. I think the latter would be better. Ayra: would not change anything Jamke: Jamke makes a really good first impression however it’s because of the killer bow. He doesn’t have a lot of movement but he is really good at combat. I would like to give Jamke and Bridget one extra move but I feel like it’s overkill. I think Jamke and Bridget are fine. Holyn: would not change anything lachesis: would not change anything lewyn: Best combat unit in the game after he gets foresetty and dominates the arena. He has no movement but his tome makes up for it. Would not change anything. Sylvia: Already broken Claude: Would not change anything. Tailtu: Wrath is very good but she lags behind so much. I don’t think you can do anything to this unit and not make her broken. If anything, I guess make her slightly more durable? Giving her movement would be way to much. Bridget: she has a holy weapon so she will kill anything in her path. She will lag behind but at least can fight, albeit at 2 range.
  23. It’s slightly off topic but do y’all mind the minor stat tweaking that was done in SoV? I ask this because while several things were tweaked from the original, SoV is considered my many to be an excellent remake to the point where playing Gaiden is unnecessary. I think there is good reason to play FE1/3 because of their major differences from the original, but I’m not so sure I can say the same thing about Gaiden. i bring this up because I don’t know if I want a remake to be different enough from FE4 or have is replace it entirely. I have little hope in IS that they will make a remake that surpasses the original in terms of quality. I just feel like there will be something off about the remake that will make me hate it.
  24. think I remember seeing some interview somewhere where the team that worked on shadows of Valentina new that the game would not be as popular or as big of a hit as fates and awakening were. It did not include a lot of the features those games had like romance and kids. But as a result we got a true to original game that was as “broken” as the original, had some of the best voice acting I’ve ever heard, and presented itself beautifully with its music and graphics. A lot of people will argue that FE11 is way to different than FE1 and FE12 is way to different than FE3 and that there are reasons to play FE1 and FE3. FE15 is so true to FE2, that there is literally no reason to go back and play FE2. It is that faithful of a remake. I say all of this because if they can make a remake of Gaiden that still has all the jank in tact, then they can surely do the same for Genealogy, as long as they have the integrity to do so. The game can be slow, yes, but I honestly feel like if they were to add a couple of quality of life features such as enemy phase skip and combat speed up, it would make the game a lot more approachable. And besides the chapters are not supposed to be completed in one sitting. People will just have to get use to playing a little at a time. I find playing the game for a little bit, taking a break, and coming back to it, to be a much better way to experience the game. I rushed through it my first time playing it because my brother and I were wanting to rank all the FE characters by favorites and it was the 3rd to last game we had to play. On 2nd playthrough, i took it much slower and am had a better time. I recommend watching Mekkah’s video as to why Combining FE4 and FE5 is not a good idea. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but it makes sense for her to be a bit fanservicy? (I can’t believe I just said that) i hate what fates and heroes did/does to characters by making them nothing but tropes and fan service. Sylvia is suppose to be an annoying child, but it was easier to get away with that back then with just a portrait and some text. Throw full art and voice acting on a dancer that it is already ditsy and promiscuous and I know it won’t turn out well. Buuuuut, Sylvia does have the best line in the game and i really hope they keep it in.
