    are there growths rates for the characters

    yes here is all of the ones in the demo, though we are doing some retooling here and there.

  2. Will there be paired endings in the final version? Also how do I create my own portrait? Is there like a video to show me how to do it. Because the standard male portrait looks NOTHING like me.

    There will be paired endings in the final version yes. As for creating your own portrait you will have to make your own.

    To do that I would either do it yourself or even request it from one of the sprite threads taking requests if there are any.

    If you do decide to make your own, attached is a useful tool to help you slap one together.

    You can use it to make sure your portrait fits properly and it will help easily grab the talking and blinking frames.
  3. Its a bit late but thanks for the reviews. We've been working on hashing out what needed to be fixed and giving it time to be scrutinized by others.
    On that note we are beginning work on the last leg of the hack with about 12-13 chapter estimated remaining.
    With that said I don't have a definitive schedule on when all of these will be done cause we will also be redoing some of the older maps that were seen as too poorly done or that we could improve upon as well

    as major testing in some issues we have seen through most peoples run(such as staff exp unit balance and ch13 endscene.)

    So all in all it will be done in a reasonable amount of time but we need to do some housekeeping and such along the way.

    And if anyone is interested I am looking for a sprite artist to help with 1 or 2 animations. 1 being the final boss and the other being a possible touch up for Algimas base class animation.

    If anyone has yet to try the demo I recommend giving it a go now so we can take your input into account for the full release!

    And yes Trestkon, supports are most definitely going to be a thing.

  4. Some of you may recognize this hack for what it is.
    This is the fourth and from the looks of it on the way to being the final version of tacthack.
    For those that don't know, Tacthack is a hack for FE7 with a playable tactician with an original setting and characters.
    Issues and rebalances galore later here's an update and the first release of the FINAL version of the hack.
    This version goes all the way through to the epilogue and rolls endings. Not all the endings are in mind you, as we are still writing supports to see what goes where but a majority of the Single endings are in. Dialogue for the final map has been added so if you beat it and have a save feel free to go back and view it.
    as far as changelogs go.
    Light magic has been revamped
    Aras recieved a slap on the wrist nerf but shes still strong.
    Gerwulfs statline and growths have been changed hopefully for the better this time.
    Brendan received a buff as did sven.
    Some late game bosses have received changes.
    It's been a fun ride and I'll keep polishing it but they'll be slower more paced out updates.

    Fire Emblem: Order of the Crimson Arm is a hack which follows the trials
    and tribulations of Algimas, an up and coming mercenary leader,
    and a foreign tactician testing their knowledge of warfare on the battlefield.
    The two set out together to the continent of Fadrel for fame and fortune.
    Over the course of time, both will go through various events which will decide
    not only their future, but the fate of many others as well.

    Wyverns use axes. gain lances on promotion.
    Cavaliers are split into Light and Heavy cavalry.
    Light cavalry are the traditional cav, using lances and swords and promote into paladins.
    Heavy cavalry use swords and axes and promote into great knights.
    Knights get bows! Retain axe gain on promotion.
    Playable soldiers and Halberdiers.
    Weapon bonus hack added.
    Weapon balance changed, bows are really scary now.
    Thieves promote into rogues.
    Class base stat changes.
    Custom animations both original and from the community.
    Different music!
     

    And since this is tact hack I encourage you to try making and using your own portrait and palette for the tactician character!

    Instructions:
     

     

    All you'll need to insert these is a copy of feditor and HxD (or your hex editor of choice).
    To insert the portraits open the rom with feditor go to the portrait editor and then go to the index of the corresponding tactician. Once there just load the portrait, apply, save the rom and your set.
    For the battle palettes open the rom in your hex editor, copy the palette hex listed here and paste overwrite the current version(ctrl+b in HxD.) and save. Then you'll be ready to play the game with your choice of tactician.

    An important note, for some reason the rom will lock in the Chapter 13 endscene on every emulator that I know of besides VBAM. We tried figuring it out but no luck.

    So if you do want to play or are in the middle of playing, use or switch over to VBA if you can/haven't already.

    Make your own tacticians for people to use or just show them off.

    Demo is 10 chapters in total prologue to ch 8.

    Super basic rundown on the story.

    You are a tactician, recently hired by a young mercenary captain seeking to make a name for himself.

    You travel to the mainland of Fadrel, where you find yourself and your new company embroiled in what will become

    a major war that will shake the very foundation of the whole continent.

  6. I think this happens mainly in chapter 1.

    Do you mean Negu and Gerwulf?

    They are mentioned in the Opening journal of the chapter as being hired by Stephen a couple of days before the day the chapter takes place.

    And yes ch 3 is an intentional Non combat chapter

    Also instead of posting the update up to Ch 7, I have decided to upload a patch once I finish Ch 6, as that particular ch is an end to the first part of the game

    and transitioning into the second. So for any who are holding off on playing this, once the patch is updated would be a good time to start, as I will not update it for until the next part is finished.

  8. Hello again, got an update for my hack. Of course, I haven't posted in my old thread for quite some time, so I thought it best to start a new thread for the new look as well.

    The Hack I am making is referred to as TactHack, named such as it has a playable tactician character. One thing about this character that I encourage, is to create your own portrait for the character,

    it is you/your character after all. A default portrait is there for male and female Tacts, but again I encourage you to make your own.

    It features an original story and original characters.

    As for story, you, the player, have been recently hired by Stephen, a mercenary captain on his way to the mainland of the continent of Fadrel,

    where he plans to make his company rich and renowned throughout the land. During this task, you Stephen and the party are quickly hired for a

    job which drags you into a conflict that will throw most of Fadrel into Chaos.

    This current version only goes to ch 5 and I am currently working on ch 6 and 7. I plan to update again when I reach the end of the first part of the story.

  9. So this will have an original story and setting, correct? Also how do plan on doing supports?

    I know these are very far off questions until that actually gets implemented(unless it already is).

    Just very curious about this, as my hack has a playable tactician,

    though I have it only at one kind of unit for now.

  10. What do you mean, Custom tact? I put in info for my guy. Also, after Chapter 7 you are transported to 7x which has no dialogue, a unique map, and the boss is Paladin Beyard who is unreachable due to doors you can't open as you lack keys.

    I should have clarified what I meant by that, when I say custom tact I am referring to portraits. And it is as Cyron said, the game is only coded up to Ch 7. That is the map for Ch 8 which is in the works.
