Realistically, without Sothis presence "stunting" their emotions, I wouldn't be surprised if Byleth's personality and outlook mirrored Jeralt's. He'd have apathy towards the Church and politics of Fodlan at large and only look at the battlefield from a monetary mindset. Mind you, not that that would make them easily sway to Edelgard's philosophy either since, growing up as a mercenary, they likely would have first hand experience with a lot of Lords who believes their personal cause to be the moral just one. Perhaps their arc would be one about learning that some ideals actually are worth fighting for. Think Squall Leonheart in Final Fantasy 8.

I feel like changing her crest alone would not be enough to spur a major change in the storyline. One potential pitch I could throw out there is say, what if Seteth died at the end of Chapter 12 during Edelgard's siege of Garreg March if the player chose to teach the Black Eagles? In Silver Snow this could serve as motivation to Flayn's character growth, with her stepping up as a leader for the Church with her father's death and Rhea being capture. Of the three, she was always the most open minded when it came to integrating back into society and she could provide a new prospective their origins. Sivler Snow could even see her inheriting Seteth's relic. Seteth's dead in Crimson Flower would give Rhea that extra push into snapping.

I think my big thing is I'd probably tweak Enlightened One. Ditch Terrain Resistance and give it Fistfaire and White Magic Uses x2.

I mean that's the internet in general. Hell Edelgard, probably the character who warrants the most discussion and fan engagement of any of the characters gets equal parts "UwU, she's thirsty for Byleth" jokes.

Sylvain is another character worth recruiting if you want to sub Ferdie out for him or if you're playing on NG+ and just want to get the Lance of Ruin early.

Going to echo this, is there a specific reason for denying same sex options. Other than the obvious reason.
