  1. What if you posted links to your own dropbox and also to wherever the creator has the file? That way as long as the creator's link is good people have access to the most up-to-date version, but if the link breaks at least some version of the file is still available via your dropbox. Just a thought...
  2. I kind of feel like it's staring into my soul but that has some awesome factor. Etzel icon was more cute while this is more lulzy/creepy imo (also I always thought those were Canas icons! lol I forgot about Etzel)
  3. Wow, I played astoundingly badly this game. Lol it was still pretty fun though and it had so many Pokemon roles, I can't even believe it
  4. Wow, this is my first time getting killed in a mafia game, lol. Good luck Town!
  5. Actually, I think your role would be worse for scum than for Town. Your role's results are public, so it's obvious the role exists as soon as you use it. And since it's a night role, it's not too hard to narrow down who it belongs to. So if you continually used it to, say, help scumbuddies get on the same stage as Town players they wanted to target or kill, you'd quickly be found out. It seems like negative utility for scum. That's actually part of the reason I think you're Town--I can't imagine your role as a scum role.
  6. Dang, super majority happened before I woke up. Well...now I need to rethink some things.
  7. @Marth, I feel like replying to your reply to me will get repetitious at this point; I've said my piece, I stand by it, and I should stop spamming up the thread, haha. Going to sleep now, hopefully Blitz will be around tomorrow.
  8. Tables replaces Folgore Pink, who DID claim--as Sheik. The claim is in the thread way back on D1.
  9. That theory sounds kind of far-fetched, though...the more simple explanation for the facts is that Prims is Town. Creating more and more complex theories to explain why he's scum doesn't make much sense. All right, here's my thoughts on your posts, it's a bit long though. You were pretty scummy on D1 but I dismissed it because you tend to be scummy on D1 as Town. After that, you didn't do much active scumhunting on D2. You voted Elieson, then gave up on that, voted Iris, gave up on that...basically not much conviction in your votes. You didn't discuss Proto aside from pushing for his claim, and then once you got it, saying he was probably Town. In fact, looking over your D2 posts, you didn't do much at all. You did say later that you trusted Proto and Psych, and then: There was no real reason for you to claim this at that point. You were not under suspicion and Psych's claim was enough to back Proto up since Psych was seen as pretty Town at the time. Your claim comes off as opportunistic. Pushing for Prims' claim, although the circumstances under which Prims had said it would be necessary had not happened. Town does not want people to start claiming for no reason, but scum does. And then when you couldn't get Prims to claim you went ahead and rolecopped him. Guess you really, really wanted to know what his role was. You had one minor vote for Iris earlier where you pressed her to give her opinions...and then you didn't mention her again until this post on the next day phase. And you even admit here that the suspicious behavior had been occuring since N1; why didn't you mention it before this post? You didn't even bring it up when you previously voted Iris. Then later you said this. Your suspicions of Iris have weakened quite a bit here; this post first says she suspicious but then says you're not sure. Then in your next post you switched over to a BBM vote. So your Iris suspicions were short-lived and pretty weak. If it should be easy to guess your role, that suggests that you intended people to figure it out. So why not just claim it and avoid all the confusion that followed over what it was? If you want to claim, claim, if you don't then don't, but don't do something like this that just creates confusion. And then you didn't post again until I mentioned I had thought you were a backup cop, at which point you agreed with that. Why didn't you respond to earlier posts about you being a universal backup? Why did you wait until my post to say anything? Makes me wonder if you hadn't thought of the backup cop bit and then seized on it when I posted it. I'm also not sure how much sense this makes as a role, since Kay's role said Dedede got the role PM by ordering his soldiers to steal it. He wasn't a detective. Also, this is another example of your piecemeal claim: first you posted a paraphrase claim, then your role PM, then hints about the upgrade, then you claimed you were now a rolecop, then you posted your new ability text, then finally you claimed you had lied about the text of your original role PM. Doing it bit by bit like this just creates more room for confusion and wastes time. The flavor about your ability doesn't have any secret info; once you claimed rolecop, why not post that at the same time? Why draw it out? It just wastes space, and also time. Having iso'd you more than once, I can say that until you specifically said you got your role Kay dying AND Strawman suggested you were universal backup, I never once thought you might be a rolecop. I'm not even sure what about your posts was meant to look rolecop-ish. Asking for Prims' claim just seemed scummy to me. Overall, you haven't done that much this game, aside from cause a ruckus on D1 and cause another ruckus D3 with your roleclaim. You haven't scumhunted much this phase, and D2 you made a few weak votes and claimed unnecessarily. So your play has not been that great overall, and your drawn-out claim hasn't been great either. Wrt to who I would have targeted in your place: someone whose claim I wanted to confirm. Eclipse would be a waste of time to rolecop, I would've gone with either Psych or SB, probably Psych.
  10. It can, but as far as I know it's really uncommon. I don't remember any scum Watchers in any of the SF games I read, actually. And as I said in a post during N2, Prims and SB did not make sense as scumbuddies. SB was the main wagon earlier on, and Prims joined it without much of a fight once I pointed out that SB had had all of two posts that day, neither of which was useful. Why completely fail to defend SB and vote him then, only to suddenly leap into action later after his claim? Scum!Prims should have tried to get another wagon going earlier, when there was more time and it would have easier.
  11. that doesn't make sense though, because my logic didn't rely on your role PM at all. I only thought you might be cop backup AFTER someone else said you were a universal backup (Strawman I think?) AND you said you got your power from Kay dying. If you hadn't mentioned Kay yourself, I would never have thought about her, because the penguin thing is so random and weird. I honestly would not have been able to guess what your night action would be from EITHER version of your role PM. Plus given that you didn't reveal this supposed original wording until just now, just as I said, the alteration was pretty pointless since you got figured out anyway. So, it was pointless lying to the Town, which is not Townie.
  12. @Tables: so here is what I'm seeing in your post. 1. complain that someone who pressed you for information wasn't nice enough 2. discuss how stages worked in a previous game without really telling us anything we didn't already know 3. suggest that the Watcher might be scum, even though the Watcher's reports have been confirmed by two people, one of whom (Prims) is obvTown. SB is almost certainly a Watcher; scum!Watcher is possible but I don't see it as terribly likely compared to a backup rolecop claim that has several issues. I completely sympathize with how miserable it must be to catch up on a thread that's over 70 pages right now, but this post is still just fluff. I'm inclined to think you're Town because fakeclaiming Tracker seems like such a bad idea, but both you and FP have scummy posts. You mean when he was freaking the heck out trying to save the Watcher from being lynched? Yes, he did several whacky things like double fakeclaiming, but the goal was very Town and I find it hard to believe that scum would draw so much attention to themselves for the sole purpose of saving the Watcher when it's to their benefit for the Watcher to die. Even without Scorri's flip, Prims was pretty Townish end of D2. You say that you altered this bit because you thought it would be too obvious, but once you say your role has gained a new power and the only relevant thing in your role PM is a mention of an 'idol', neither version is really more subtle than the other. This alteration just seems so pointless that I can't understand why you made it. And pointless lying to the Town is not really a Townish thing to do.
  13. Oh right...I thought it was half living players, woops. Well we're fine then! ##Unvote ##Vote: Marth I still want to hear from Blitz as well. But I'm okay with a lynch on any of Blitz, Marth, or Iris.
  14. Well, it's not like they can't edit their fakeclaims if they want. I don't know if you remember since you were already dead, but in CP we totally ditched Iris' original fakeclaim and wrote her about three new ones later one. Situation changes, fakeclaims change with them, I guess. I think Marth is at 6 votes right now, and we have 15 living players, so 8 is majority? Anyway let's make sure not to put Marth at majority before Blitz shows up because I want to hear from him this phase.
  15. Not necessarily. He claimed AFTER Kay had flipped, remember, so quite possibly scum saw the flip and decided to claim their scum rolecop as a backup. Also, note that Marth did not claim he was specifically a backup rolecop, as opposed to a universal backup, until I suggested a theory about it. He was being extremely vague about how he got his powerup and what it was. If he was really a Town backup cop, why even say that he got his powerup D2 when he claimed? Why not pretend to still be Vanilla and thus avoid getting killed until he had useful information? And his action last night isn't very Townie--why scan Prims, who is pretty obvTown right now, and who even said he would claim his role if it became necessary? Scum would probably really want to know his role if it's something that would insta-clear him as he implied. Whereas Town doesn't really care that much about Prims role right now. Hm, what does it take to put someone at majority currently? I kind of want to switch my vote to Marth, but I don't want to put him at majority when Blitz hasn't gotten back yet.
  16. Or he could be a mafia rolecop coming up with an explanation for his role. Also, notice that Marth's role is rather different from the other two claimed Vanillas--they get powerups based on visiting stages apparently, whereas Marth is claiming a Deputy or whatever cop backup is called. It's similar to the other two roles, but doesn't quite fit. Much like Piplup as the character, actually.
  17. But, again, you aren't thinking about game balance. Roles that affect the nightkill are really good and strong for Town because the NK is the mafia's weapon. It's just like how a role that screws with the lynch is very strong for scum because the lynch is the Town's weapon. Iris' role swaps people's actions without the targets knowing about it at all, so it would be quite difficult to figure out what was going on unless she claimed. And with stages affecting stuff too, it's even more difficult. Being able to swap the kill with a Townie's action and get scum killed would be very, very strong. In contrast, messing with the vig weakens the role as a Town role, and SK is always fighting an uphill battle anyway. Basically, if Iris was Town then allowing her role to affect the NK might be too unbalancing and make the game too Town-sided. Heck, if she's scum it could be unbalancing because she could swap the kill over to some Townie and get them caught by Watcher or Tracker. For EITHER alignment it would be really strong to affect the NK. I'm not saying this makes her Town, obviously, but suspecting her based off the fact that her role doesn't affect the NK doesn't make sense to me. If you think Iris is scum, then how about her posts? Make some points about things other than one line of her role PM.
  18. Safeguard doesn't affect the kill either; is that always a scum role? Basically, if Iris is Town then her role might be OP or unbalanced if it could affect the kill. Not affecting the kill does not mean the role is scummy. I think Iris is scum, but your arguments about that one line in her role PM don't make sense. Look at what she's done in the game, not just a small bit of her role PM.
  19. Oh. So like...by action summary you meant the bit which tells you your action, aka the role. Okay I think I misinterpreted that stupidly. But this still would mean that you don't get the name of the player you targeted; I thought that it was standard to get the player's name in the night result, like 'You chat with so-and-so and they tell you their role' or something. SB's report on Folgore Pink included FP's name, although his Prims report did not include Prims' name, and FP's Tracker report on SB included SB's name. We didn't see Tables' actual message so I don't know if that had Scorri's name. But so far the majority of the investigative roles have had their target's name in their night result. But you are saying you don't get the name. I find that a bit odd. I'm also concerned that you actually claim my Dedede-is-Piplup's-idol theory is true because I honestly posted it only because I thought it was too silly to be true. And your mysteriousness about your role upgrade--telling us to 'figure it out' and then let people conclude you were a universal backup, which you failed to contradict until I posted my theory, even though I had previously asked you to clarify what your role actually was. It reminds me of what happened on D1--you caused a ruckus, vanished, and then once people started saying it was just a reaction test you came back and said, oh, of course it was. at the time I assumed it was all just a Townie causing shenanigans because you tend to get suspected D1 as Town, but now it's twice in a row that you've done something that caused suspicion and then failed to explain yourself until someone else came up with an explanation. I'm kicking myself over posting my theory now.
  20. Again, how are you a rolecop if don't get roles? What is an 'action summary'? Your claim is getting weirder and weirder as you add more pieces to it. If there is some sort of coherent explanation for all this now would be the time to make it.
  21. What I meant was that a rolecop gets a night result. So it wouldn't be a mystery to you who you targeted, you would have a result to look at. Unless you don't get the name of the player you targeted, but I thought that was standard? Also, what do you mean by 'action summarizing'? And how are you a backup rolecop if you don't get the role? I would really like it if you would just claim what your action actually does because at this point it is not at all clear to me.
  22. Then please address my other point: if you had become the rolecop N1, how could you not know whether you targeted Iris or Blitz?
  23. I think Scorri used her High Jump because scum thought she had a good chance of being lynched today and they didn't want it to be wasted. Trying to save the other use of High Jump doesn't really make sense because the Town doesn't know how many uses it has in the first place. So, until she flips, we can't be sure whether any given kill crossed stages or not. And if she dies, then we know it's gone, so any saved uses are wasted. I still think something strange is going on with Proto and that he is unable to explain it for some reason. His posts seem different from normal and he won't respond to questions of his being Persuaded. Not sure what's going on exactly, but there's got to be something. Re: Elie--I actually think his role would be really terrible as a scum role, because it's very, very obvious that it's been used. Yeah, it could be good to figure out where players scum wants to target are going, but then it would become obvious the stage-revealer role was scum. Not that it's super useful as Town either, but as a scum role it seems like shooting yourself in the foot. I've been iso'ing Marth and after thinking about, I would be okay with a lynch on him even though I would prefer Blitz. If he's fakeclaiming I wonder why he didn't just make a Squirtle claim since that would've made more sense, but eh. If he wanted to keep his upgraded role a secret, why even say he was upgraded when he claimed? Also, this: That's from N1. If Marth is really Universal Backup and he got Kay's role, how could he not know who he targeted? Still not sure if Blitz/Marth make sense as scumbuddies, given Marth's D1 antics and Blitz now pressuring him. Also, I still can't find anywhere in-thread that Marth actually said he was a Universal Backup, although it's a reasonable inference given that he said his upgrade was related to Kay's death. Would still like Marth to actually say what ability he's claiming though.
  24. My problem with using your role to prove claims is that you have to wait an entire night, and it requires the second person to either give up their action, let it get used blindly, or have claimed their role. It just seems impractical. Is that actually what he's claiming though? Tbh my theory was that he took on Kay's role because that's the idol Piplup was cheering for, since King Dedede is a penguin...I realize this theory is dumb though. But anyway before we start speculating about whether Marth's claim makes sense I'd like to know what it actually is.
  25. This makes me think Proto's been Persuaded and can't say that he has been. Maybe he's forced to talk about Excellen too?
