  1. Well there was the welcoming party, they were at arms, but not bearing down on our necks. "Hey, need to kill your boss, out of the way." Gean to 6-25, hand axe Brawler 4
  2. Gean picked up her axe and brushed her hair back. Things were quiet again, which meant this first was done. She returned to Renais' side, only to Nyx and Syndra instead of Amera. "I think we're mostly ok, not so hurt to keep going. We should move though, the faster we go the less time whoever is upstairs has to counter us." Gean was ready to be done with this place, and she had a feeling whoever was up with Karzan, she wouldn’t like them either.
  3. Gean's unfamiliarity will the mercenary's odd sword proved enough of a difference for a solid hit to land, but not to down her. "So you’re not a coward huh? Still a dead man." Gean gave the man no opportunity to rebuttal, bringing her axe right into the swordsman's torso, before feeling the pivot timing from before and slaming her axe into their shoulder, watching the man hit the ground with a thud. "Hah... Hah." Amera joined behind Renais, raring to join in. "Thanks, if this misses this straggler's all yours!" Gean switched over to her other axe, choosing to keep her distance this time. Gean to 5-24 and chucks a Hand Axe at Thief 3!
  4. Gean smiled as Renais kissed her cheek, "I'll do my bes-". There were footsteps closing in, and Gean was sure she was pulling up the rear. "We've got company. Behind me." Gean turned around the corner to find two enemies, a mercenary with a thief behind her. Gean looked at the odd sword in the merc's hands, best to let them come to me. Holding her axe in a defensive stance and barring her scales, Gean looked the merc in the eyes. "Come on, let's dance cowards." Gean to 5-25
  5. Once Sen got in, Gean made her way to the driver's side of the vehicle. “First shop nearby, got. I hope we're lucky then. Depending on how far we go, we can drop off the supplies and maybe head out for drinks.” Sen laid out the plan for the evening and with a roar of the engine the two were off. Unfortunately, luck was not one their side in this endeavor, runningthrougha number of possible places but still missing a few crucial components. To be honest, Gean was enjoying being in the engineers company and seeing her in her element while discussing with the shops that the failure to find the pieces hadn’t bothered Gean all that much. There was also Sen’s occasional bits of flirting, though Gean had a feeling that was Sen’s way of finding her own fun in the midst of all of this. After a half an hour of searching through the more official shops, Gean pulled into a more vacant warehouse lot Sen instructed her to. “Well, you wanna hedge our bets here? Looks like they got a new delivery by the truck over there.”
  6. “Thanks Roxi.” Gean let the healing magic wash over her, feeling right as rain after a roll of the shoulder. With a roll of her shoulder Gean got on the move once again. As she rounded the corner, Renais was there, readying herself in case anyone needed assistance. Gean quickly gave her girlfriend an embrace, speaking close and quick. “We can do this, I'm sure of it.” Then the embrace was broken and the merfolk moved towards the action. Gean to 6-26
  7. Gean winced slightly as the horseman’s spear found its purchase in her shoulder, but she had felt worse, and there was no escaping her second swing that ended the fool’s life. The current wave of foes had been routed, so it was the best time to heal up and move forward. “Hey Roxi? You got any healing?” Gean to 5-23
  8. The already battered brawler collapsed to Gean’s attack. They were advancing well at this pace, sure their enemies were hitting hard, but the Tigers were still hitting harder back. Then the sound of wings flapping crept into Gean’s ear. There were people entering behind them, and as far as she knew this was the only force coming to invade Karzan. This could be trouble, we need to move. The faster they cleared the way, the better, and that meant this cavalier needed to go. Gean to 19-3, attack cav 6
  9. Gean to 8-18 The next wave was coming, and Sari was taking point. Gean approached ready to strike once folks were in range.
  10. Gean rubbed her shoulders as Sen evaluated her casual fit, before taking her hand. “I’ve always been a bit boyish compared to my friends, but it’s what I like.” As they strode down the hallway, the engineer chose to nominate Gean as the driver. “I can do that, I’ve been around military vehicles for so long driving one comes naturally.” This wasn’t that big of an exaggeration, she had been around them for most of her life thanks to her mother, she even practiced in one when getting her license. “You just tell me where and I’ll handle the rest.” Once they made their way to the hangar, Gean opened the passenger door for Sen, holding it for the engineer. “Good they should have plenty of space for whatever we get. After you.” Roku let out a sigh as he sat down on a bench in the middle of a lovely park. His excursion into Remansburg had been… eventful so far. The idea of running into two idols like the Rhapsodia’s when he was just looking around like a tourist, well the odds rocked his mind. Thankfully a place like the park was nice and peaceful, just what he needed to relax and wind down. He closed his eyes and leaned back, wondering where else this journey might take him. He was a long way from home for sure, but it wasn’t all that bad.
  11. Gean peered around the corner and frowned, the next swath of enemy onslaught was being led by a swordsman she wanted nothing to do with. Aly and Syndra took charge, but the rest were still too far. The mermaid contemplated her next steps before she felt magic pulling her. Now she was much closer, thanks to her girlfriend right behind her. “I love you so much” was the reply Gean gave to Renais before charging forward. There was a priest amongst their forces, and it would be best if he was no longer there. Gean to 8-16 cleaves priest 2
  12. Mikhail was up bright and early, despite spending a portion of the night on a balcony enjoying the moon and some nice “spirits”. Much like the day before, the priest reentered the inn, a half eaten biscuit in hand and a basket of what one could only assume was more food in the other. He wasn’t quite looking where he was going, but rather behind him as Miles and his liege walked away from the inn. When he turned around he was greeted by the visage of Eve and Nate. “Morning.” Mikhail spoke before filling his face with more biscuit. Taking his now free hand and reaching into the basket, he produced a muffin and presented it towards the two. “Want some? This is from the first batch of the day from the baker.”
  13. Gean to 5-10 Gean looked on with no sympathy as the mercenary who dared to challenge Sari was effortlessly dispatched. His companion was more fearful, and fled, which would mean reinforcements. It was to be expected, but still annoying. "I'll move on ahead, we probably have a whole party waiting ahead of us."
  14. Sen voted in favor of casual, which put a smile on Gean’s face. She was quite ready to escape her uniform for the day, and it wouldn’t take her too long to change. “I don’t mind, and it won’t take me long, maybe 20 minutes at the most.” Gean let the short engineer lead her out of the room and off to the private quarters. Gean was actually done changing in about ten minutes, maybe eleven from when she stepped into her own room. It always helped to ask for more time than one actually needed, it left a better impression to those waiting on you. Being timely for others was also a big lesson her soldier mother drilled into her, and on a CEN owned vessel, Gean practiced that lesson religiously. “Alright, I think I’m bar ready.” Gean stepped out of her room in white tee sporting a faded dolphin, a brown leather jacket that fit just right, and some nice denim jeans. Her trademark dreads were once again in a ponytail, but she left two out on the left side of her face, almost framing her features. Compared to Sen, it was definitely a more tomboyish look, but that suited Gean. “I’m also parts shopping ready, but that was always the case, so lead away, I shall follow your discretion on this venture.” Gean jokingly held out her hand, ready to be pulled in whatever direction Sen thought was the right one for this excursion.
  15. Gean to 3-7 Gean’s cut was clean as she tore through the soldier. His message was cut short, but from the sounds of magic and the shouting she assumed was Cass, the rest of the forces in this section were now aware that they were under attack. The element of surprise was lost, but that was fine. They would carry out this mission regardless, they had to. Gean didn’t know what kind of lance the approaching guard had, but an initial glance told her that it was probably designed to handle axe users like herself. Thankfully, Aly was quick to dispatch him, and they were free to move forward. She spotted two mercenaries further down the hallway, both armed with pure weapons to no one's surprise. Sari was taking point, So Gean moved alongside next to Aly and stood by to follow up.
  16. Gean sat on the bridge by herself, lost in her own world. The crew had been given the evening to themselves, and somehow she found herself back on the bridge, idling away and thinking of what to do for the night. The pool was always an option, but then again, they had just landed in Remansburg, so why not take in the sights? Her idling stopped however as a voice called from behind her. She turned to greet Sen, but before the words could come out her hand was being tugged and her evening was decided on. “Well I guess that's my plan for tonight. Do I have time to change into something casual? Or would you rather walk with a lady in uniform?” Gean was a bit more comfortable talking to Sen now, so jokes were on the table.
  17. ‘Captain’ Gean brought the Maelstrom into the cave with no trouble, right next to another ship. Gean was surprised to see a second ship, but the bloodstains on the ship and their newest person Roxanne’s following breakdown told Gean all she needed to know. Another reason they needed to succeed, and Gean would deliver on that. The group had taken point, and Gean could see her first target. Sari was giving out orders and his tone was soft, but serious. “Roger.” Gean moved quickly, axe in hand and ready to strike. As she swung onto the guard she looked him in the eyes. “Enjoy the ride to hell.” Gean to 4-4 and introduces soldier 6 to her Iron Axe
  18. Gean let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding as the Maelstrom approached their destination. To say she was nervous was an understatement, but thanks to her lessons over the last few days, and Cass’ help, they had arrived not only in one piece but also ahead of schedule. “Well that’s step one, now to land us.” As Gean said those words to herself, Keiran approached to mention how easy things had been, which wasn't helping her nerves either. Gean called out to the leaders of the operation. “What's the call? We ready to land?” Jesse stood by on deck peering through the fog. She would not be one of the assault group, instead keeping watch of the ship. She was feeling confident, the training from the last few days had borne fruit for all present, especially the Tigers, and she had learned a few more things about her armor in the process. The green knight approached Miria with a determined look. “Come back in one piece alright partner? We still have to ask Jeremiah about our armor.” Even if Jesse couldn't be there, she'd give her support. Speaking of, she looked around for a certain winged mage. Koba was going out this time, and Jesse wanted to extend the same sentiments to him as well. I know ya’ got this Koba, even if you're unsure yourself.
  19. Gean grunted as she swung her axe into the training dummy before her. Despite repeated attempts, she failed to replicate the move that let her succeed with her uncle. Gean wiped her brow in frustration, before turning her head to more sword swings. The source of the sound was Aly and Sari both teaming up against Jeremiah. There was a fierce back and forth, both sides going at with the same intensity that Kise had just moments ago. It… stung at Gean how little she understood of fights of this caliber. Speaking of Kise, she was relaxing with Renais and Akai. The sight did bring back the blush to Gean’s cheeks. She was just… she knew how to stick herself in Gean's mind. Her beauty of course but she was strong, even after all that happened with the underground. I said I wanted to catch up to Lucille, but she's not the only one now. Gean tightened her grip on her axe and returned to swinging, her determination renewed. She'd need to talk to Kise later, and thank her for this experience. For now she needed to get this footwork down.
  20. Jesse smiled at Elisa. "Thank you, I'll take any bit of knowledge I can get. I guess a demonstra-" Before Jesse could continue. clanging of steel could be heard. The source of such was a bit too serious match between Kise and their instructor. Jesse tense when Elisa's hair changed, but suddenly the fight was over... What's goin on today? Whatever it was, it didn't concern her, so Jesse returned her attention to the pink haired Evoker, who chose to have a demonstration of her own prowess, instantly burning away at one of the training dummies. "Golly jeez..." Jesse turned back to Vira with a look of being impressed, before realizing she slipped into her old talking habits. It was Vira's turn next, and though it wasn't as huge of an explosion as Elisa, for someone with no magic experience, it was still a sight to behold. "Today is just full of surprises." Jesse stepped up to the two ladies. "I can't say I understand it, but to cast without a tome is impressive regardless right?" "Well since we're all doing it, I may as well join in on the dummy practice. I can't shoot magic but I can at least try this." Jesse raised her right arm stabilizing it with her left. She took a deep breath as mana concentrated into her right arm, the jewel on her gloved hand glowing a bright green. "Mana... Shoot!" Suddenly a bolt of green energy burst from Jesse's open palm and streaked right towards the charred dummy Vira had practiced on, with a gust of wind bursting around the girl. The unfortunate dummy shattered upon impact, with the dissipating like a gust of wind. "Hah... Could you sense anything from that Lady Elisa?" Gean was still in the moment as Kise walked back towards Akai, the mermaid switching between looking at her girlfriend and looking at her uncle. The wink and lip lick already had Gean blushing again, something that Renais was more used to doing in their trio, but the brushing of tails got the girl to jump. Oh boy... Her uncle had returned to being an instructor, but he wouldn't have turned that serious for no reason. "Um.." An explosion flame was what finally broke Gean from her statue like place on the training grounds, it looked like Elisa and Vira were practicing magic. "Right, training." This was no time to be distracted, she could talk to Kise later. For now she need to work on that swing she pulled off during her spar with her uncle. Gean made her way to one of the unoccupied dummies, far enough for some time to herself, and began swinging. Two swings in quick succession, flowing footwork.
  21. Gean’s blush deepened as she received a kiss on the forehead, Kise's words and actions soothing Gean. Her fight with Jeremiah was a bit off, Syndra wanted to take a swing first, so Gean took a few to relax on the still resting Akai. Once Syndra had conceded, Gean got up and stretched herself. “Why don't we go and watch Akai, give Kise our support.” Gean jogged over as the spar began in earnest, with Kise immediately firing off magic in his direction. Gean had a look of excitement on her face, before she realized that this was quickly turning into more than just a spar. Her uncle, well, Gean couldn’t tell the exact extent but she knew he wasn't holding back in the same way he had with the rest of the Tigers. Meanwhile Kise had moved from using her tome and was striking with her claws, almost as if she was aiming to truly hurt the man. Gean felt a tinge of worry, scared if her simple desire might cause something she would regret, but at the same time the mermaid was captivated. She had always held her uncle in high esteem, and his movements and strikes were reasons to continue that, however Kise. Her strikes, evasive maneuvers, something about it all captivated Gean. The match then ended in a flash. Gean couldn't track it all, but she could see her uncle take form and then Kise’s guard was broken and she was on the ground. People had begun to flock back to the two, but Gean still stood there, just staring, absorbing what just happened.
  22. Gean blushed slightly at the words of reassurance from Kise. She knew that Kise was right, and her uncle would undoubtedly echo her statements. "You feel soft, Akai feels soft too. Good boy Akai." A slight deflection, but Gean was grateful for the support. Gean was also happy for the sale (of mana) and tail, though a brief puzzled look flashed across her face at Kise’s smile. She dismissed it though, considering Gean also wanted to sever Luther's head from his shoulders. “I'm not upset at him, he was teaching me like he should, and I could tell he was worried about me himself.” That was mostly true, though Gean was a bit peeved by the Luci comment. “Still, I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious about a spar between you too.” If anything, Gean was curious to see Kise go up against someone above the level of the Tigers, she had never seen her girlfriend really fight before, and most of the foes they faced until now Gean believed would not be a fair fight for the kitsune.
  23. Mikhail returned Eve's wink with a smile, before moving to give treats to the rest of the table. For Miles, Lohen cookies. Luce got fudge brownies from Sar. Taka recieved dango, something of which Mikhail was surprised he'd find outside of Akatsuki, though it didn't quite compare to the dango of his childhood. Nathan was given cookies, and both Alouette and Ichika were given pastries model after flowers from Islode. "Just gifts from my time at the festival. Will see you all in the morning." Mikhail didn’t have any further questions for Eve, he was more than comfortable working on a touch and go basis. "Hmm, star gazing sounds nice tonight, maybe a light drink as well."
  24. Jesse’s voice got caught in her throat as she listened in on the exchange between Sylmaria and Tio. She wanted to refute the dragon’s claim, but how could she? Nothing Sylmaria said was wholly wrong, even if Jesse believed in the Gaffeny’s vision for Islexia. Nicolas was both a formidable man and a hero to the people, still it didn’t feel right. Her brain was failing to find the right words for the moment, so she moved away from the two embraced in the hug. Not too far away was Alvira and Elisa, she could talk with them instead. “Hello Elisa, Alvira. I hope I’m not barging in, I can tell things are… a lot right now, but I was hoping to speak with you.” As far Jesse knew, neither Evoker was particularly versed in wind magic, but if Koba could pick up on the nature of her armor, surely they would be able to gleam just as much if not more. With the dragon healer gone, Gean fully melted into Kise’s embrace. It was warm, in a different way from the warmth she felt from her necklace. It felt as if Kise was slowly washing away the heat of embarrassment in Gean's cheeks. “Yeah I won, and I'm glad for that. It's just, I was so determined to impress him. I even tied my hair up for this fight, like my mother used to do when she was serious. Then in one exchange of words I was immediately thrown off and made a fool of myself.” Gean sighed. “I'm just mad at myself for how quickly I flubbed my own expectations.” Having vented her frustrations finally, Gean faced her girlfriend, just taking in Kise for a moment. “I've been meaning to ask, but you got another tail. I take it the shop has been doing well?”
