  1. A sigh escaped Aegean's lips. She could understand Alvira's actions, protecting our own was something Tasha preached on the regular. However she hoped the dragon didn't cause their new contract to be nullified before they could even embark. Hoping to speed things along, she spoke up. "I think we should get to planning our preparations then. Tasha and I can go to port and start about finding us a ship. I'm on good terms with most of the sailors down there." Spending free time at the port had it's upsides.
  2. Anyone looking out for Miria was a good person in Aegean's book. This Ingverd was looking more agreeable by the second, even if he was still full of himself. Having calmed down herself just a bit Aegean thought on more about the threat she, "Anything else we should prep for in regards to the trip? I take it lodging and food are covered, but any place besides Islexia we should be on high alert about?" Aegean knew she would need to be on high alert herself come Lufiria, maybe acquiring a mask would be worthwhile. Telling Tasha the full truth would also need to happen.
  3. Even though she agreed, she still couldn't stop her shaking hands. Aegean crossed her arms in an effort to hide her worries, and decided to take her mind off the destination, and onto the most mysterious person in the area. "Will we be escorting just the Evokers, or will you be joining us too Mr. Ingverd? Sorry if this comes off rude but you're the least known here so I didn't want to assume."
  4. A cold sweat when down Aegean's neck. Trade had been down for a month? We'd be going to Islexia and even worse Lufiri- no this is no time for fear. Its been 10 years Aegean, and we don't even know if the envoy is dead or not. You need to do this, not just for the money. You need to find answers. "I have my own worries, but the reward seems to be worth the risk. I'm in T- Natalya." She could feel her hand trembling. But she clenched it tight and looked her boss straight in the eye. No one needed to know yet. But she definitely needed to speak to her dad.
  5. Aegean felt the world spinning. First the promise of enough gold to last her for years, then the appearance of the two most powerful mages in the country. Oh no, they're cool AND beautiful. Thankfully Renais' surprising outburst kept her from joining the healer in a similar manner of embarrassment. But one detail in this whole debacle had stuck out like a rusty nail to her. She just hoped she heard their potential destination wrong.
  6. And now it was Aegean's turn to comfort, having watched the older woman get rejected by her peers. "It's a good thing Tasha doesn't pay us to be friends then. Also good intentions are nice, but they'd be nicer when paired with sobriety." Gean knew she was sounding like a broken record, but she valued the zany woman's company enough to keep on. Aegean was thinking of asking Tasha for a sparing match, when Alvira could be heard getting annoyed at what could only be their next client. Her jaw nearly hit the floor once their charming guest revealed not only his name, but his sender and companions. "No way... we're getting a job straight from up high?"
  7. Aegean felt a hand on her shoulder, only for the owner of that hand to start downing what could probably be the 3rd bottle of the day. As much of a whirlwind Nyx was she did have good intentions. Most of the time. The best response Gean could give was a smile back. A few more responses sprung from the group, most just ready to be dismissed. One however she wasn't expecting to hear pipe up did. "Something finally catch your attention, golden cub?" Whatever Miria was reading, it definitely held her interest for most of the debriefing.
  8. A stifled yawn had escaped Aegean lips as her boss gave the debriefing on their most recent contract. The report was fairly normal, until they got to the part about increased pirate attacks. While any news about pirates would delight her and her axe arm on a regular day, this gave the girl more worry than anything. I hope dad's fishing trip has already ended. He barely makes it by when trade is booming. I'd sleep better if he got a decent, more importantly if he made it back safely. It was while she was in the midst of planning a quick trip home that Alvira stepped forward, suggesting they take an active approach. Aaannd shot down. If Tasha is anything, she's by the book when it comes to work. "While I agree with our Ice queen on this one, no pay means no move. May as well rest up before something does happen." If anything she thought to at least write to her father and check on him while they had this time off.
