  1. I may mess around with a Deer's page a bit later to see if my intentions of displaying the data in a certain format will work or not. I'm going by the game's display order (hence why I listed the classes as is on the front page). This also kinda applies to however I'll reorganise the front page's class table thing.

We could I suppose tabulate things based on weapon - but that does mean Axe/Bow/Gauntlets get all smooshed together which I'm not a great fan of myself.

  2. Feels suuuuuper weird to get post-release profiles, but...

No associated active ability / preferred class for the followup however today.

Oh right, Rodrigue. That arm in the image looks... awkward there.

    Probably Holst tomorrow?

I'd like to help out if I can, though my time is a bit limited.

Do we know if the gifting mechanics are the same as the previous game? So far it seems that way, so maybe just bringing that info over to start would help?

Or maybe starting with a page dedicated to the class tree, since that's straightforward enough...

I'm sure the datamine has stuff to go off of but I haven't looked at it yet.

I'll probably make the front page's Classes section look something like the game's class tree at some point, but time is as always the kicker.

Is there anywhere I may learn about some of these spoilery files?

Not interested in story spoilers but I am curious about some character/class details.

    Spoiler

Unfortunately most of the mining has been story spoiler heavy.

No Valk/DF/War Monk/Cleric at least from what I can gather from the character/class tutorial videos.

The same Mega folder with the demo datamine also has the main game one.

  5. I kinda feel like the Holy Knight is a Gold Knight equivalent for lance cavs (at least from the very limited footage we've seen of it), with the Dark Knight as the more hybrid approach.

    Spoiler

Paladin to Great Knight would require a primary weapon change which doesn't seem to be how progression is structured this time around, so it's understandable that it's not the progression.

WM coming off only Grappler still sucks.

  6. I'd be interested to assist, though IRL commitments would probably limit me to an advisory or suggestions role here.

Don't have a login, and no prior experience with Serenes wiki stuff specifically, but a wiki is a wiki in terms of navigating it. :Lilina:

I think it'd be good to set up the intro page at least and start chipping in things gradually. Major things to consider off the top of my head:
    - with a few exceptions, I think movesets should be in class groups (especially those in a progression tree). As a result I'd be thinking characters should probably be bundled by affiliation (e.g. Eagles, Lions, Deer) with maybe the lords/Shez on their own page perhaps?
    - do we want GIFs or screenshots of a moveset in action? Ditto action abilities?
    - a lot of the deeper nuances with 3H specific mechanic carryovers may need to have their organisation structured similarly to the site's 3H section.
    - it's important that we do cater this with a more FE directed approach as opposed to a Musou approach given that we're probably going to expect the majority of people coming across from 3H.

    (Also, welcome back!)

Apex (weapon type) - Increases critical hit damage when equipped with a (weapon type).

(Weapon type) Buster - Grants one tier greater advantage against enemies equipped with (weapon types)s. Increases damage to them by [0:NUMBER]%. (Number determined by rank)

(Weapon type)breaker - Effective against enemies equipped with (weapon type)s.

Buster skills have multiple ranks with normal classes going from 1-4 (80%-100%?), unique classes appearing to get 5 (105%?), and ranks 6-10 seeming to exist in the code but unused.

Breaker's description isn't really helpful, but I would guess that it means that it increases your advantage level by one level.

    11 hours ago, ciphertul said:

It might be like the bow vs flying type of advantage.

Breaker should be +3 if we go by bow vs flier.

    After all there are

    Spoiler

icons that go up to +5 advantage which I'd imagine triggers the relevant achievement.

A final note on this, there are four versions of the Awakening song in the files. Three of them are named after the routes, the fourth is named Dark Dawning, which seems consistent with the tone of the unknown chapter title screen.

That fourth Awakening theme is associated with Shez (first plays in Ch 0, but remains when using Awakening with them), and I wonder if it's also associated with 'unaffiliated' characters (probably the domain of spoiler characters tbh). Though admittedly...:

    Spoiler

it doesn't even feel particularly Agarthan, let alone Nabatean, so it could very well be just limited to Shez...

  9. I'm not sure about AI unit enemy kills, but each character you can control has their own kill count as well, in case you weren't aware.

(-) pause menu is great as well for resetting the mission (Retreat - Restart from Beginning) if you killed off a unit or aren't hitting the S rank timers that you wanted to.

    ===

Is this our first look at Ailell?

    ===

Also, since I've been seeing people claim that Shez has a white hair form, it's just a just frame in their Awakening:

  10. Re the sword:
has griffon featured on Knights of Seiros emblem on the ricasso
    - centre of the crossguard has a Crest of Seiros engraving and a red stone embedded in it

As mentioned above, discounting any Chapter 0 Byleth appearance, appears in cutscenes of them seen so far. Not on the boxart though.

This to me suggests that it's either a heirloom from Jeralt, or Byleth gets the prf when Jeralt / they are hired by the Church.

    Don't forget that

    Spoiler

Silverheart / Enlightened One are collectively referred to as Mage Knight classes

so potentially they could use a whip like effect even without SOTC if they channel some sort of elemental effect.

  11. Nothing super exciting now, but a few tweets of note:

Presumably Yuri/Balthus tomorrow, but I'm not sure what they'll do from that point onwards.

The character postcard total is 35. In terms of characters who would make sense on these:
    - Both Shezes are confirmed (from previous images back in April I think?)
    - Eagles, Lions, Deer, Wolves - for 28
This leaves 5 slots left, which doesn't actually cover all the other playable characters in the demo if we also want to include Arval. Hmm...

The info posted on the document does not provide any indication of what classes have spells enabled as far as I can tell. I would assume they do since they all the other classes have been fairly faithful and we know that non-mages having spells is a confirmed thing because Fluegel gets them.

    I do wonder about

    Spoiler

Silverheart/EO though as their Ploy description refers to Mage Knight (Gelbenritter / Tiny Hands moment) - I'd suspect these classes also have R trigger magic, but maybe they do something similar to HK/DK in some of their charge attack strings?

I think any further trailers will be peri- or post-release (including DLC if that's being decided on).

Otherwise, it looks like it'll be interesting seeing how all the skills stack up regarding character builds.
-- Not only there's Personal Skills unique to each character, but the Learned Skills from each class can also differ somewhat character to character.
-- Toss in unique stat caps for characters as well, and there is likely to be good build variety despite the classes sharing movesets.
-- This doesn't even count Combat Arts and Magic potentially being different across characters!

While Vantage is a bit meh, the Desperation & Wrath combo is looking amazing for taking down enemy officers.
-- Some characters may be able to use Battalion versions of those skills, which may be easier/harder to manage depending on strategy used.

    * * * * *

As for normal gameplay, I learned that blocking may actually be worthwhile as if one managed to Perfect Block, it will briefly stun nearby enemies and immediately bring up the Stun Gauge.
-- Guess Perfect Block may be better off thought as a "Parry" of sorts, especially if it can bring up the Stun Gauge.
-- Personally, I'm used to dodging (rolling) around, so if I'm going to take advantage, it may take some getting used to.
=== As an aside, a Perfect Dodge makes all attacks "critical" for a short time. I imagine depleting the Stun Gauge to be much more useful though, so we'll see how this develops.
=== Yes, I'm starting to actually read through the tutorials to see if there's stuff I missed. Is it the 24th yet?

    Spoiler

Mysterious Mercenary and the associated press release already kinda mentioned that Combat Arts / Magic vary between characters as they gain weapon rank. However there's also the ability for certain CA/magic to be taught to an ally as well...

I honestly haven't worked out where the crit damage boost would outweigh guaranteeing stun gauge reveal; and IIRC both have an associated skill (whether it's a personal or class one) to increase the perfect dodge or guard window. I guess it again will be class / character / build dependent.

I don't see a Hero Holst in the icons. He has three NPC icons, an unarmed one, an armed one, and one in a stupid hat. The stupid hat is part of the Swordmaster pixel art. The other two are probably supposed to be Mercenary, which I recall being his class in Chapter 3 of the Deer route. The outfit is because that is what his custom outfit looks like.

    Oh right, good catch:

    Spoiler

Hero actually crosses their sword in front of themselves; so the other class is Merc as you rightly pointed out. I knew about the eastern styled hat for SM.

Pity we lose Hero for presumably class tree paring down.

So the speculation is that 18A is Sword Buster lv5 (189 is level 4). Makes sense. Barbarossa has 1B6, which would end up being Gauntlet Buster lv5. Given how many empty spaces there are, it makes you wonder how high the "Buster" skills are going to go up in dlc.

    Spoiler

Buster and Resist skills go up to level 10 it seems.

(just noticed there’s no Infantry Buster / Resist Infantry, rip)

I bought FEW a couple of days ago, and I've been enjoying it a fair amount!

The reason I bring it up here is because as I've been playing, I've noticed that Tharja (and probably Robin, I actually haven't used him a whole lot) feels a LOT faster of a unit than any of the Monks/Priests/Mages in Three Hopes. The closest have been Annette and Dimitri weirdly enough, but the reaction and spell time feels slower to me. I know that doesn't really mean much, but that was one of the first things that stood out to me as I played this, and how weird it felt to have an older game have this one particular part run better. I mean, it's not THAT weird to have older games do specific things better than newer games at time, but it felt weird here.

Other notes - FEW has good combat, but its combat makes me appreciate the changes made for Three Hopes, particularly in terms of the Combat Arts/Spells list. ...and everyone having a default two Vulneraries.

I feel like they really wanted to differentiate classes for their combat roles to mimic FE even more - which puts archers and mages in the awkward spot of their laggier startup imitating their historical poor close quarters combat not quite making a comfortable feel in an action game at first impression (nothing a bit of practice won't resolve, though).

At least Priest and Mage feel significantly different enough that they're not the Plegian tome vs Linde situation in base FEH (and ofc adding Dark Mage on top of this to further differentiate).

Previously playable characters that are have no personal skills:

    • Hanneman
    • Gilbert
    • Alois
    • Cyril
    • Anna

    Spoiler

Cyril kinda feels like the odd one out here in terms of relative unpopularity? Like I wouldn't see him being on the Alois / Hanneman tier of forgettability myself.

Possibly saving these characters (and then your Randolph / Judiths etc.) for DLC is ...a decision indeed...

  17. Not quite sure how the dark field is set exactly based on this description (at Hapi's position? At the position of the end of the attack string?), but having it deal Spellbound with its significant debuffs + also having detonation makes it multipurpose.

    ---

Does anyone think we'll get demo route specific non-student bios next? (not that this will tell us anything new for those who've played the demo)

Not that I am aware of. That was my initial thought as well, but there are no models labeled as Seiros. I can't rule out possibility of them being there under a different name, but I am just working with what is in the spreadsheet so I can't open any of the files to see if they look like Rhea/Seiros. If there are Seiros files, they might be under Ceilus? If you convert the 'C' and 'L' (to account for potential romanization differences) that would give you Seirus which is almost there. Whoever Ceilus is, they do have a separate face model indicating they are probably recruitable.

I do think I should point out that Rhea's map sprite head has her archbishop hair, so I would expect that if she is playable that she would keep that hairstyle rather than change to her Seiros hair.

    Spoiler

Given that Flayn is internally coded as Hronn but kana is フレン (furen) I think you may be onto something with Seiros = Ceilus. How is Seiros referred to in say FEH?

Ties in with the line about fighting for humanity as well... However there's no current evidence for a sword / faith / brawling class in demo is there?

    14 hours ago, Ranadiel said:

Not that I am aware of. Looking at the model list, it seems that the students do each have a B and C model for their body and head. However those likely refer to their academy and (Hopes) War Phase models both of which were seen in use in the Demo. So there are not enough models to support the (Houses) War outfits and faces.

Should be noted that the lords do appear to get an upgraded class, which have new associated models. So maybe you'll like Edelgard's new Emperor outfit more than her (Hopes) Armored Lord outfit?

Remind me again, in base 3H what letters exist internally for body / head model pairs for non snowflake characters with timeskip designs (iirc Dimitri and Edelgard have extras for their child models)?

  19.

And because neither English translating twitter account acknowledged the followup tweet to this one:

Which is to say, the elemental attribute of her satellite orbiting magic orbs changes depending on time of day / environment of the battlefield:
    - during nighttime outdoors / anything indoors, light elemental
    - during daytime outdoors, dark elemental

Probably suggests no dark flier in base which is sad, but otherwise Gremory fits Constance.
