  1. His critical rate is pathetically low, and Ike only three-rounds bosses. Most have Gates or too much HP to two-round. Titania one-rounds everything with Steel Axe.

I already showed that she's still excellent at late-game, should I bring out the end-game stats? ;)

I posted her lv 20 stats before. The closest she comes to capping anything is skill which is 1.9 away from the cap. Her strength averages lower than Volke's frig. She's decent at best at end game, she doesn't shine AT ALL.

  2. Titania can one-round bosses, all other characters three-round them. If you don't give Titania the boss kill, you'll have a harder time getting max BEXP, and because we want to get max BEXP as easy as possible, we use Titania to kill the bosses. She does it the most efficiently.

Actually, Ike usually two rounds them, or pulls out a critical and one rounds. I've not seen Titania one round shit for the first few chapters, only weaken stuff.

We're also not talking about who the best character is in the end, we're talking about which character helps you get the maximum amount of BEXP as efficiently as possible during the entire game, and Titania is defenitely the one who helps you the most with that, being the best character for 2/3 of the game.

Uh, no. We're debating that she's the best character in the game, which is completely bull crap. She's best at getting you full BEXP for the first while, but towards the end she won't be doing enough damage with her stats. I'll admit that she's okay, but she isn't the best unit in the game, which is what this topic states.

  3. I'm going out on a limb and guessing 40
i say its going to be somewhere around 40

These posts reflect my personal thoughts on the matter.

    ...

No but seriously, I'm gonna say about 40 bucks. Just because I dunno the average price of DS games on release.

  4. Considering Titania gains around 45 CEXP on a boss, she should be at least level 5 by Chapter 9 or so. Titania gets a share of all EXP when being used, and of course, Chapter 17 has a ton of enemies to grow on. I bet you were using most BEXP on Ike. ;)

    Depends on what mode.

No, actually, Ike ended up fairly underleveled compared to usual. I fed him the bosses usually though, because he needs the EXP more than Titania, even though it was a pally run. Taking into considerationt that's what you SHOULD be doing early on, feeding the bosses to Ike for lunch, Titania won't be making it to 10 by the mid mark, even with fuck loads of BEXP, because you'd be using it on other units too, if you were doing a regular run.

And I'm talking Hard Mode, too. It's the only mode I play on if I'm actually playing through the game to play, as opposed to reaching a goal.

EDIT: You know what, lemme put it this way.

Good at the start, drops off towards the end. That's not a good unit. Just because she doesn't need to be trained instantly doesn't make her good, she's only got utility at the start. She has roughly the stats of a 16/1 Paladin, and it shows come level 20. Most other units average higher stats than Titania (hello, Volke, averaging 30 points higher in strength four levels earlier). So, she'll have the utiliy early on, but if you play it like you should (level more worth while characters), she'll be getting only a bi of EXP, not enough to raise her to be the DECENT unit she is. Even if you feed her as much EXP as you'd like, her stats won't cut it to make her the best unit in the game.

All Titania has is utility early on and good supports. Other than that, no. Early-Mid Game Utility + Supports =/= Good. She doesn't have the stats to back it up, or the late game utility, usually. She can't take enough damage to be that useful come late game.

  5. No, as there's tons of enemies in HM, so everyone used will gain levels. Titania can take from CEXP and BEXP without hurting anyone. It's not like Titania is killing everything everywhere and not letting other characters battle, since relying on one character, regardless of their utter haxness, hurts efficiency.

    I've proved otherwise before.

Tons? Uh, no. There's not really enough to make a difference. My Paladin run on Hard Mode, took me three chapters to level Titania. And that was with Ike being the only one to kill, and he got three kills. The rest were all Titania. Even with only sharing BEXP and normal EXP with Ike, Titania didn't make it to level 10 by chapter 17.

And before you say PEMN, that's void with this. Personal experience in regards to EXP gained is the same for everyone else.

  6. PEMN with stats, not EXP gained. That's NEVER altered, EVER. Having Titania take almost every kill and not making it to level 10 means she won't do it without BEXP, end of story. And if you use BEXP on her to level her early, she still won't make it as she'd need the natural BEXP too. And you can't raise your other units off BEXP alone, as then they'll be level 15 using D rank weapons. Yeah, that's logical.

Point is, without screwing over your more worth while units in some way, Titania won't be worth while. And even then, she won't be very worth while anyways. All she has is utility and supports, her stats are rather poor. They're that of a level 16/1 or so.

  7. You're incorrect, because by the time everyone promotes, Titania will be at about level 10 or so.

Unlikely, given that with the EXP people will get early on will be enough to promote them fairly early, where as Titania would be sucking up all the EXP. If Titania was lvl 10, no one would be promoting, because she steals the EXP from the others. If you have the more worth while units promoting, she won't be level 10.

I mean, even on my Paladin run, I focused more on Titania. She was ranked 1 for kills, and she still only hit level 20 near the end of the game. For her to hit level 10 early on, when others should be promoting at that point, is hard to believe. Like, REALLY hard. You get less EXP early on for her than you do later and it still took forever to get her to 20 with all those kills.

  8. Titania is the best character in the game because of a combination of being the best character for 2/3 of the game, having good supports, a great class and fairly good endgame stats. FACT!

    Uh, no.

    HP: 48.2/60

    Str: 20.5/25

    Mag: 8.7/20

    Skl: 24.1/26

    Spd: 23.5/27

    Luk: 19.6/40

    Def: 18.6/27

    Res: 15.6/26

Last I checked, those aren't good endgame stats. I mean, closest she gets to capping anything is Skill, and there's still a 1.9 difference, which would be 2 stat difference. She has utility at the start of the game, but her stats won't cut it when you compare her with units you'll be raising alongside her. They'll outclass her in every way before the half mark, even. I mean come on, even VOLKE averages higher strength than Titania.

Really, Titania is decent early on, she loses out a bit for stealing EXP from more deserving units and whatnot, but she's great for rescuing and reaching villages on time. Otherwise though, she's a nuisance to have around unless you WANT her to steal EXP from your other units. If you don't, by the time you can raise her without killing your other units EXP wise, she's too weak to do shit all.

  9. And how's that relevant to the conversation? It wasn't. She just brought it up to pick on him.

Uh, no. He said she wasn't going to continue because she had been owned and she just said she didn't understand him because of that. She just made her point and said that she actually can't understand him because his grammar is bad. That's completely relevant if Mitsuru brought it up first.

  10. Okay, let's get this straight: averages are what happen most often. Sometimes you have a point higher or lower, but usually not much more than that, therefore averages are the closest thing we get to an accurate rating of their stats. Averages are more than 75% correct, therefore they should be taken into account. There's also all the joining conditions and whatnot.

Titania, at the start, SEEMS to have good bases, but she's very weak for her level. She's also a nuisance at the start, as she kills everything, thus stealing EXP from units far more deserving than her. She's around the whole game, but so is Ike. Using that logic also makes Ike the best unit in the game, which is a full fledged pile of steaming bull shit.

Titania shines early on, but as the levels get harder, you'll be promoting units who are now leagues better than Titania, and Titania won't be able to keep up with them, and she'll be getitng knocked around by enemies. She almost NEVER caps stats, making her stats poor, making her performance poor. If the best unit in the game is a unit with mediocre stats at best, and little to brag about performance wise, then the world might as well implode, because that's as illogical as it gets.

Also, Mitsuru, I'd back off of Fox if I were you. Because not only will she be on your ass, but I will too.

  11. Just putting this out there to make a point about Rolf to somewhat back up Fox:

He starts off weak as shit, yes, but if you level him he's got phenomenal stats and is a fucking crazy Sniper. He's a liability when you first get him, and a burden up to about level 15, but then he starts getting better. So his utility is dropped a shit load as he needs to be babied to level, but he's got great stats to make up for that in the long run, making him an average unit. Not good, but no where near bad. Now if only the Double Bow was actually GOOD in FE9...

    FE10, he's a good unit. That's the end of that. >_>

    Anyway, yeah. I'm done. >_>

  12. Titania may not cap any stats, but so what? She beats the crap out of all yourother characters for the first half of the game and continues to own pretty badly for the second half of the game

This is the whole point. If she can't cap stats, she isn't good. She can't be owning hard in the second half if she doesn't cap shit, can she? No, she can't. Oscar and Kieran are MUCH better candidates for an end game Paladin than Titania, as they actually have strength, speed AND skill. They also have nice defensive stats. Titania, on the other hand, doesn't.

And I know this is a late reply, but it had to be said. >_>

  13. Aran

    Brad's underrated?

I've not once heard anyone call him a bad unit, only that he starts off horrendously slow... ._.

    Oh, right.

I don't use Zealot, simple as that. I think I tried to use him once to save Noah from an onslaught of enemies, but Zealot ended up not doubling and getting raped in the face by EVERYTHING.

  14. How about this: Use only Eirika and Ephraim through the whole game. Make all your characters dead. [sarcasm/]

    ...

After my FE8 Challenge, I'm gonna try an Eirika/Ephraim only run. Only exception being thieves to unlock doors. Otherwise, nothing else. >=D

How will I go about the Franz and Gilliam deal though... hm... discard lances, trade sword to Gilliam! =O That'll solve a problem right quick.
