  1. So I am sure there is some documentation on this somewhere, but I just noticed the ratings section of the character info screen and it seems very interesting. My overpowered lvl 15 Frederick got some good stat ups, but his rating is only 100. So it seems to take into account absolute level and prepromotes, as well as total and perhaps relative stats? Anyway, Donny hit 213 and Donny!Chambray is at 176 but this is rising quickly because of good growths, which is really no surprise. The big surprise here is Olivia, who has a base 127 rating (around chapter 14 on Lunatic) and looks like this: Olivia (10/10/1 Dancer/PK/Dark Flier): Level: 1 Str: 20 Mag: 12 Skill: 24 Spd: 23+2 Lck: 16+4 Def: 13 Res: 13 Rating: 127 Olivia done went and ate her wheaties! I looked at her growths and they don't seem to spectacular. She proc'ed str on almost every level, which seems to fit the almost trend of dancers having low base str but decent growth. Anyway, her rating is way higher than the average 100, probably because of these growths. Anyway, just wanted to ask about the ratings and express my surprise at the fact that Olivia actually isn't a crappy combat unit when reclassed! How about you, do you have any units with abnormally high ratings? Edit: Wow, I'm a moron.
  2. You should add an option for both. Still, since I went for this chapter as soon as it became available (Chapter 13), on Lunatic, I could hardly fight both armies. I had paired Donny with Panne and wanted another overpowered unit in Yarne so I went for this one early. I fought for the green riders against the red knights, because it seemed like red would be less dangerous since they started in a defensive position on the map. I just had Hero Donny solo it anyway, but I heard that fighting for the riders was easier and I agree.
  3. Yeah, you're probably right; that's probably why most of them sounded different to me because they are sped up. That's definitely the case for this one. I will check the other ones later just to be sure.
  4. The music here is clearly different: although it seems to be sped up so that might be affecting it. In fact, I'll look into it some more but that is probably why most of these sound different to me.
  5. Ok, so I asked in the "I just want to know one thing" topic if the DLC music from other games is a remix (I know this isn't the word and it upsets some people, but I'm not sure what to call it instead) or if they are the exact same as in the game from which they were taken. Someone responded that they were identical but I am not entirely convinced. Particularly because, while listening to some of the dlc music on the youtube playthrough, I realized that a few of them (decisive battle, confront the past, muderous puppets, the devoted, advance) seemed noticeably different. I just thought I'd make this topic to ask again to see if anyone else has compared the DLC music to the one from past games to settle the issue once and for all.
  6. Ok, for those of you complaining about the poll options, I added an "Other" category. Also, is there anyway to keep this topic open for when we know more about this game or do we have to risk making a duplicate topic or necroposting?
  7. Just based upon this topic: http://serenesforest...opic=36980&st=0 I think we can agree that no one saw this coming. Damn, now I have to buy a WII U. Anyway, what do we think this means for the series? It seems to me like Awakening was kind of like a "go out on a positive note" thing before radically changing the series. I mean think about it, incorporating all of the best elements of past FE games into Awakening and pushing it so hard? It all makes sense in retrospect. But what about now? Will FE continue to be a crossover series, will it return to being straight FE, or are we getting trolled big time by Nintendo Direct? I realize that this last option is almost impossible, but think about FE12, I consider that trolling us. Personally, I know it all depends on sales but i am not sure which way it will go. This new SMTxFE game could have either an aggregated fanbase consisted of all of the FE fans and the SMT fans, increasing the popularity of both series, or fans from both sides could begin to abandon the new games in the face of such radical change. I am sure this also depends on how true this game is to the original FE gameplay, but all we can do now is speculate. Anyway, I realize this is premature since we don't know much about this game, but think of this as a continuation of http://serenesforest...opic=36980&st=0 and give your opinion on the poll.
  8. Are you sure about this, because while listening to some of the dlc music I realized that a few of them (decisive battle, confront the past, muderous puppets, the devoted, advance) seemed noticeably different. Also, Brom's face sprite seemed a little bit more cartoonish (of course I am probably just imagining this).
  9. Sorry for asking so many questions, but I've been watching some of the dlc chapters on youtube and noticed a few things. First off, the fact that it plays music from the past games. That's awesome. Are these soundtracks taken directly from the originals or have they been remastered? Also, how do they relate to the dlc chapter (is there a song from each game or for each legacy character or what)? Also, the enemy characters. Most of them look pretty good, but I am wondering how much of them is customized and how much is generic. That is, as an enemy on dlc, the black knight wears red. When he joins you, does he wear black or blue (because black would be soooooo cool). Is only the hair color changed because I thought I saw a larger chin on Nergal but I may be imagining it and does the same go for dlc or are the dlc battle models more customized? Last question, do the spotpass/dlc characters change models on dlc maps too? For instance, if I got spotpass Lyn, would she wear a kimono in the spa of bonds dlc episode? I probably should have made a new topic for all of these questions, since I realize this topic is called "I just want to know one thing" and not "I just want to know five things" but I have been making way too many topics recently. Thanks.
  10. Ohhhhh, that makes a lot more sense about the internal levels. I am still wondering about when you can change to promoted classes in a special class. Is it right that 0-10 you can't change, 10-29 you can change to unpromoted, and lvl 30 you can change to promoted? So then it would be way faster to change at lvl 10 and then promote at lvl 10 in a normal class. Wait, what modifiers are we talking about. I wasn't aware of any modifiers besides the effects from some weapons and support/double bonuses. Are those what this is referring to?
  11. Why is war knowledge so great? Doesn't it just increase the exp by 50% when doubled. And don't you only get like 5-10 exp when doubled too? Unless it applies to when someone is doubled with MU and MU is the active unit, too, in which case I can kind of understand it. I guess the ability to develop into a competent magic user like a sorcerer is useful since there really aren't many of those in this game (Miriel and Mariabel seem terrible), but it still seems like MU is week in his strategist class.
  12. Ok, the way it was phrased on the class sets page made that really confusing. Someone should consider changing it. This is a helpful explanation. How does this change for special classes? Their levels can't go above 30, right? Also, I saw this on the FAQ page: "Q) Is there a limit to how many times you can change class? A) Not all all. Although, naturally, you're limited by the amount of gold you've got to buy class-changing items." Is this true? I thought the concept of internal levels limits the amount of times you can change classes since you need to get to level 10 to use a change seal, right?
  13. I am probably missing something, but it seems like MU isn't really that great in this game. I mean, I know he joins early, but his stats seem average at best since he is split between Magic and Strength as a Strategist (he only gets to around 25 each on average at 20/20). So I am wondering if MU is worth using, or if he is as broken as in FE12. Because it seems to me statwise that he falls behind units with a specialty in physical attacks that join around the same time (such as Vake). I realize that 25 MAG and 25 STR is a higher total than 40 STR, but wouldn't the unit with just 40 STR or with just 30 MAG be better than a MU who is forced to choose between the two and has reduced damage in either case? I realize that Rainbow cry is broken, but are you essentially just putting up with MU for the first 50-60% of the game just so he can eventually get Rainbow Cry? I'm not trying to make the case that MU is bad, I just don't seem to see why he is so special or as broken as FE12's MU.
  14. I have another question. The site says that: "If a character is Level 10 or over in a promoted class (or Level 30 in a Special class), the promoted classes corresponding to the class options on this page will also be available to them (eg. Paladin or Great Knight if they have the option to change to a Cavalier)." Does this mean that a unit (say Lord Krom) can promote directly to another path in his class set (say Paladin) without using a change seal? If not, how would Krom become a paladin?
  15. I tried searching youtube but no luck. Apparently I need to work on my searching techniques lol. Ok, great, thanks much.
  16. Ok, that's what I thought, thanks. Otherwise grinding would be way too easy.
  17. This is helpful, and it is a good start. Can someone who has played the Japanese version provide some insight into the mechanics of the AI on Lunatic?
  18. Am I the only one that thinks the first person camera option is actually really cool?
  19. Are there any complete recorded playthroughs of the DLC out there? Because I am looking for one, particularly the other world resort dlc but can't find them. Have all the dlc's been recorded at all, even if not by the same person. I'd figured someone here would have done this and would know about it. Thanks in advance!
  20. Not sure if this has already been asked; I did a search on the forum but couldn't find anything. Anyway, how much do we know about the game's AI? Have any rules been discovered like FE12's always attacking the lowest defense? Is the AI dumb like in FE12 or does this game present challenge by giving the enemy strategy in addition to stats? Also, how does the difficulty level affect AI in this game? By the way, I haven't seen many players form a wall in LP. I remember, particularly in FE12, walling was a vital strategy in Lunatic. Is it still as important? Perhaps this is because I haven't found any Lunatic LPs if they are even out there.
  21. I actually expect you worded this wrong because mt decreasing in lunatic mode lawl. No, it actually makes perfect sense: beyond (that means after fyi) the first chapters of lunatic, no one is hitting for 23 mt. If you read my post, I am talking about how enemies generally have more than 23 mt, after the forst few chapters, so it is worded correctly. Perhaps you read it as: No one is hitting beyond 23 mt.
  22. I have no idea why we are talking about Fe11 Caeda when this topic is about Fe12 Cecil, but I doubt any enemies are hitting for 23 mt beyond the first couple chapters in Lunatic or Lunatic'. Also, I have no idea what you mean by Malicia being able to take a 23 mt hit at level 11 but 28 mt at level 10:
