  1. Splendid! It works good. And I don't want to repoint it; that was just for testing purposes. Many thanks for the list, though I still don't see the Item get/weapon level increase theme, but it doesn't matter much. I've never used Sappy before, but I'll try.
  2. I'm hacking Blazing Sword.
  3. Can anyone tell me what is the ID of the Level Up and Item get themes? I've looking at the Music Array Editor and .txt files for a while and can't seem to find them. Also, I've been attempting to learn how to modify a nightmare module and this is what I get: This is what I'm using: # # 1 Music 0x1201600 1 2 Music.txt NULL Track Table Pointer 0 2 NEHU NULL Priority 2 1 NDDU Priority.txt If I use NEHU or the other editbox commands, I get that error. It doesn't happen with the dropbox commands. I even copied the examples given in chapter 71 from the Ultimate Tutorial and I still get the error.
  4. The map looks good, but it can use some more editing. Can I use it for the hack? Added the cliffs and forts, moved the upper mountain one tile to the left. The lower building still seems detached to me, though an idea occured to me and I'd like to leave it like that.
  5. That's the palette that comes with the tileset. It won't look like that in-game. Alright, I'll fill up the empty spaces and fix the mountains, but I'll stop with maps for the moment so that I can progress some more in hacking.
  6. That battle is still very far at the moment, but I'll copy & paste this for future references. Battle 2's map: The center is almost like in the original game and the setting is still there. The mountains didn't convinced me -especially the lower one-, but I intent to let the player know how the next battle will be like.
  7. Hmmm. Perhaps I can use these maps to replace those that re-uses a previously seen map, like the first battle from chapter 3 (Alm) using the same map as the seventh from chapter 1 or the Thief Shrine's and it's numerous clones. However, I like each part of a map to have a purpose, which is something that Gaiden lacked. So I may change those spaces where no unit sets foot, be it with terrain or with allies, reinforcements, etc.
  8. In that case, I guess I'll make them all different. I'll base the maps with the Gaiden ones, but only with the size and maybe structure (if the circumstances force me to). How about this replacement of battle 1's map?
  9. The thing is, I don't know how to innovate the map without making significant changes. Look what I ended up turning battle 2's map into. Although I like how it looks, the very essence of the map is almost completely gone. I agree with GabrielKnight; it wouldn't be much of a re-make if I make the maps look nothing like the original. I also agree with Randoman; I could make changes in term of how the game-play on the map will be since that doesn't need to replicate the original Gaiden game. I'm one of those that can't tell whether a portraits looks good or not. To me it looks pretty good. And I don't mind about the chibis.
  10. Hello! I'm making a Fire Emblem Gaiden re-make and would like to see if anyone is interested in making the portraits of the characters. Also, I would like critiques on the maps so that they may look well. [spoiler=Battle 1] Before: After: I made it to look like you're about to enter a large forest. Compare them and please point where can it look better. Also, I would like suggestions as for how can I make the gates look less like a square without expanding it much. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  11. SgtSmilies@: Alright. I've already fixed the forest (I think). The other parts I'll fix them when I have more free time. Thank you very much for the critiques. Kitty of Time@: Hmmm I guess I overused them then. I'll fix that in a moment. deranger@: I did saw his tutorial, it's just that maps that are this big are always a problem for me. "Outdoor maps need to be random while still being technically correct" I'll keep that in mind. Thanks
  12. Hello there! I desire to be a good map maker, but for that I need critiques. So I'm going to put a map here and you tell me if it looks good or if it needs some changes so that it looks more realistic (which I think that will be the major problem). I would really apreciate the critiques.
  13. I see... That's quite a dissapointment. Well thanks for the help anyway.
  14. I remember seeing this somewhere else some time ago, but I can't seem to find it now. How can I make a character dissapear after finishing a chapter without erasing his/her data? I remember something about CUSI and then KILL, but I tried it and it didn't work. CUSI Lyn_t $47 KILL Lyn_t MNCH 0x01 ENDA
  15. Well I've been working on an axe knight map sprite, but I still have no good talent on spriting and I was wondering if someone could finish it for me. It probably has some wrong pixels. I have no good eye on this things. If anyone helps me I would really apreciate it. And if there's an already finished axe knight map sprite, could you post a link that would lead me to it?
  16. What version should I have then? Edit: Nevermind. I'll check them all and see. Edit: Yes, it seems it was Usenti's version. It's weird though, I've been editing battles palettes with that version for quite some time and never had problem. Thank you
  17. I'm pretty sure the problem's not Usenti. I have the latest version.
  18. Well, the thing is I edited the palette of the title screen of Fire Embelm 7. It looks perfectly fine, but when I re-import it into GBAGE it changes. I don't know if this has something to do with it, but I'll post it anyway. I don't know, for me it's kinda weird that it only haves two rows. I've tried replacing the old palette with this one and I've tried repointing it and I get the same results. Anyone knows what am I doing wrong?
  19. Well... I've decided I won't continue this proyect until I learn how to make portraits. I've been recoloring all day and it's been fun doing it (and frustrating at some points). This way I can make the hack better.
  20. Hmmm I never thought of that. Thank you, I'll try it and have everyone recolored for the next update. Although, I'm kinda wanting to make custom portraits, but if I do it will be for the sequel (if there's any) or some other hack I do later on.
  21. Yes I have considered that option as well. I think I'll do it. For the next update I make (with four new chapters) I'll have the names changed.
  22. I see. Thanks for the aclaration and sorry about the two separate quotes. I'm not too technological and don't know how to merge them. Anyway, I don't like too much doing characters exactly like they really are in the original game.
  23. Thank you for your comprehension. You're correct. English it's not my first language. And I didn't understood you too well. What do you mean by "writing their dialogue more like the writers"? Edit: Merged. There is an edit button for a reason; please use it. :)
  24. It's four chapters long at the moment. And I've been in that topic before. I'm not good at creating mugs even with references. Also it seems like it consumes a lot of time and I don't have much. Thank you anyway for taking your time looking for this.
