Newbie (1/14)

  1. Some say this was anti-climactic for the last boss battle, but I found this to be a great fit and a nice contrast to the epic orchestra I hear at the end of many games.
  2. Where did you hear that this is exclusive? As for my thoughts, I'm rather excited to see what cutscenes the game will have, and we will see how Sutherland comes off as the new Snake.
  3. Gives me a chuckle here and there.
  4. I don't like green very much, but it does look good on some, if not most of the characters, as does blue (although I hardly pay attention to their hair colour). Because I think they both look good on their respective characters, I will not favour one over the other. EDIT: Instead, I will see where this poll will go.
  5. I may have tried to "be" the character in my younger days, but that has since failed miserably (i.e. I got bored really fast) so I just play the game, enjoying or hating whatever surprises that appear.
  6. As for me, well, I wouldn't consider myself as someone hardcore, but others - my friends - believe otherwise because I play much more games and have more knowledge on games than they do. I have beaten, and replayed many games throughout my rather short time as a gamer (I still play games, but others have played waaaaay longer than I have), however I have not really dedicated most of my time into finding every little secret/achievement in every game I have played so far (only a few), and have generally used walkthroughs to find those annoying items and whatnot.
  7. Congratulations then. :) I also forgot to add, hardcore gamers will also try to play a game they really like - but not necessarily finish - in a foreign language if such game has not been released in their mother tongue. Or at least, that's my experience with hardcore gamers. The don't need to fit all of my criteria to be hardcore, but they have to meet at least two. EDIT: Typo and added more.
  8. I have it, but have been discouraged on trying to complete it due to other more exciting games, and also for the fact that it is in Japanese (i.e. I am not that "hardcore" of a gamer, and not too crazy about this FE game). When the English version is released, I just might be able to finish it within one week on the most difficult setting if I tried, and if I have time (I don't want those projects slowing me down).
  9. Hardcore gamers know the game they're playing/they have played inside out, have put countless time in completely finishing it on the most difficult setting (although this isn't necessarily true in all cases), and have tried - at least once - in completing the game with restrictions to make it even more difficult.
  10. It isn't too bad on it's own, but at the same time it's not amazing. I admit I was a little "shocked" to see the change, yet I viewed it as something welcoming. I definitely prefer FE6/7 OA than the rest of the Fire Emblem franchise, however I wouldn't want them to repeat that style for a different and unrelated FE game.
  11. I used to like the GBA Swordmaster's critical, but they just seem OK to me now. Heck, I used to like nearly every critical animation in the GBA games, but I've grown out of them; now I don't care (i.e. I don't like any of them, but I don't dislike any of them).
  12. I was going to buy an iPod about 4 years ago on Boxing Day, but they were all sold out so I got a Creative Zen Micro (6GB version) instead. I recently bought a 120GB Zune around the beginning of this month, and I have been enjoying it greatly. The only thing that bothers me is that there isn't a case for the MP3 player (there is a case for the 80GB, but the 120GB is slightly bigger and I am afraid that the 80GB case won't fit) so I can't carry it around with me outside. This is where my Creative Zen comes in, but it can't carry nearly as many songs as my Zune currently has, so I want to switch permanently.
  13. I have a habit of just storing the "good" weapons (i.e. everything that isn't basic) and never using them. When I don't have enough room in my storage, I sell such items to buy more basic weapons. I don't have a particular reason why I do that, but it is my style of play. I do use the "good" weapons once in a while when I'm in an emergency (so to speak), or if I'm in a hurry, but that rarely happens. The only time when I will ever use them en masse is when I get to the final chapter with the Black Fang morphs.
  14. Huh? What happened to the PC? :/ Anyway, my PC is my favourite gaming system because it makes up the majority of my games (and because they are the easiest games to bootleg). My second choice would be my PS3, and my third would be everything else on that list except for the Xbox 360 because I don't own one.
