  1. I'm enjoying myself when I read this thread with the arguments going around, but I have no intention of joining the fight until I read this

    Grinding = casual, unless it has the intention to challenge one's self

    Completionist = casual

    Slow = casual

    Supports = casual

    0% = hardcore

    LTC = hardcore

    Efficiency = casual/hardcore (in my opinion)

    I define casual as something the public perceives to be as not challenging. So if people think that completionist playthroughs are hardcore, then okay.

    It offend hell out of me.

    You can call us perfectionist or completionist and we'll stay neutral, but you're pitting us as grinding, slow, supports the same as completionist while making what you played hardcore elite. If this isn't elitist, it will be chauvinist pig.

    Grinding = patient, unless it has the intention to challenge one's self

    Completionist = Perfection

    Slow = Taking own sweet time

    Supports = Lovable, romantic

    0% = hardcore(retarded for Chiki)

    LTC = masochistic

    Efficiency = casual/hardcore (in my opinion)

    You try hang yourself for the maximum duration without being out of breath since that is a challenge which no sound human can complete.

    I will not apologize in anyway until this guy wake up his bloody mind.

  2. reviving this thread to point out:

    4th round is arguably easier than the 3rd (damn Ragnell/Hawkeye paladin almost screwing over my low-defense units), but more importantly, AGGRESSOR IS NOT REQUIRED even without Limit Breaker

    Right, maybe I did it wrong. It's hard for me even though I have limit breakers. I never bring any rallybots however.

  3. Actually, I'm pretty sure people will agree with my view of better. For a skill to be good, it has to do well in a way that we consider meaningful. For example, the easiest way to beat L+.

    Count me out on the number of people that agree with your view of better.

  4. Since I'm planning to make Gaius a Hero, I figured I wouldn't need two heroes. I thought about promoting him to a Swordmaster since he can grab both Astra and Swordfaire. Lastly, a Gregor Myrmidon would be sturdier than a Gaius Myrmidon.

    P.S. I'm a little worried about how I should handle chapter 9, being a desert level and all. And I'd prefer to recruit Libra and Tharja for my peace of mind(the same reason I foolishly recruited Donny =P).

    If you got limit breaker, and don't mind grinding a bit. Him using Sol Katti as a swordmaster is fun.

    Most of the time is overkill, but several criticals in Astra will give you the exhilaration.

    Sol Katti can be obtained at Yen'fay paralouge in case you have forgotten.

  5. I keep it around just for kicks. It's like using Fissure/Sheer Cold/Horn Drill/Guillotine in Pokemon. It may not hit (activate) all the time, but when it does, it's FREAKIN' AWESOME.

    I don't think the skill is over or under rated. I see it getting praise and criticism in equal measure.

    Mind reader, No Guard, Lock-on => Rightful King, +Skills

    Lethality is like the only gimmick which everyone knows, so I think it is underrated when people don't like to see people using it.

    I use it on my Olivia because of occasional counter kill after she dodge the enemy attack/vantage.

    Plus, it looks awesome when she took out those staring at her with a branch.

  6. well i did different ways (one with everything, one with no Limit Breaker/Aggressor, might try a no-brave weapons run)

    Yeah, sorry, I miss out the thought of using the SE for yourself. Always think of it as an object for epleen.

  7. Maybe they are people who get used to games where the AI outright cheating, and grinding doesn't even secure victory, only make it more plausible to achieve (Hello older SMT games).

    Exactly, they don't realize they're complaining for something that is going to affect us.

    We can always make the game 'harder' and not other way round.

    If not challenging enough, there's always room to fine other challenges.

    Playing hanging upside down from ceiling is can be one, so is finishing the game without save or during single battery charge without adapter.

  8. clearly it's a count of how many different ways you beat Apotheosis :B):

    @@ you mean how many times?

    You can beat Apotheosis several times the same way.

    Supreme Emblem is cool for streetpass when you have troll team each holding one SE.

    IMO is quite difficult to do since troll teams have more difficult time for Apotheosis. Lethality, Counter failed, team planned with no pair-ups in mind etc.

  9. Guys I understand you might not agree with what Chiki has to say, but now your just being mean. On to the previous points, technically every playthrough is only personal experience. On to Chiki earlier you said that by neccesary it wasn't essential. Well there kinda of the same thing. Have you ever used armsthrift in a casual run. It can be helpful, but it isn't the best skill in the game and again don't see anybody saying it is.

    Sorry to break this to you. From your response, Randa, you have sent a massage of not understanding the context of PEMN they're referring.

    No offense, I understand that you may want to defend Chiki since Interceptor is not holding back, but this doesn't really help him.

    Poor people don't need money as much as rich people do, though both still need money, etc.

    This is a flawed comparison.

    Still - money is necessary for both these types of people. The "varying" part in this is not how much, but how often - for how many different things.

    That is meant to say - Necessary is Not Equals to Useful, and Not Equals to Want.
    From the dictionary, they are other form of words used to explain, aid in what is the meaning of the words.
    Just going into Thesaurus, and you'll see that all the words with association or similar meaning doesn't mean they're identical.
    Why else who one coined up with a different word for the same meaning.
    Have you heard of the fantasy phrase "It grants you what you wants, but not what you needs."
    I put down an even more layman valued comparison from your point made earlier.
    Poor people don't need money as much as rich people do, though both still need money, etc.
    Poor people need $20 to fill their stomach per day.
    Rich people need More than $20? Why?
    You're comparing between 2 variables that will never intersect from calculation, and the time when it did is call PEMN.
    There's no way you'll get an answer out (Vicious cycle) because you're answering questions with questions.
    The topic of Usefulness and necessary are actually started by Chiki, and even though we also replied in why armsthift is not Overrated.
    Usefulness, necessary != overrated.
    Anyway, from the poll, we can tell if majority still think is armsthift is overrated or not.
    I have tried explaining, and it may fail to reach out. I understand why Interceptor couldn't be bothered.
    I must apologize first if my above text offend anyone in anyway. Sorry, they're not intended.
    Check #105, #115.
  10. You know, I'm starting to think you're a troll. You consistently ignore all of my points in every debate we have and instead make sarcastic remarks and rhetoric to convince the mindless people that read your posts, and claim that I'm the one being stubborn when I'm not the one ignoring any of the points you make.

    If you really are a troll, though, then you are quite a good one.

    lol, Chiki has a personal troll.

    *pop popcorns.

  11. They don't have cut-ins.

    Spotpass characters that have cut-ins are the Story Character Spotpass characters who consist of Renha [Yen'fay], Gangrel, Walhart, Inverse [Aversa], and Emelina [Emmeryn].

    right. what am i saying, lol. I have the impression of using canon weapons.

    Are you doing the mentioned characters? Renha, Gangrel etc.

  12. It's about time I got off my butt and did this.

    I'll be recording both Japanese and English voices respectively.

    The thing is though, I HATE reclassing. And I like matching up the characters' portrait clothes with their in-game battle model.

    So I really want to just stick Limit Breaker on them and have them crit in their unpromoted classes if they're default class is unpromoted.

    I guess this thread will be for inquires on what looks good to you people.

    I'm a perfectionist... and even if you can't see it that well and it's a CUT-IN and VOICE collection for Awakening... I have some... things I always think about.

    For example, the two mages that you get. Miriel's first tome is a fire tome... For the collection I plan on giving her some sort of advanced Fire Tome during her cut-ins... probably Falaflame/Valflame.

    Richt/Ricken is obviously a "wind mage" even though the tomes aren't separated in this game... so I'll give him Excalibur, Holsety/Forseti or something.

    Dark mages such as Tharja and Henry will obviously use Dark Magic...

    Now here's my first question...

    Mariabel/Maribelle can't use her default unpromoted class... because... you know... she can't attack. Liz/Lissa's kind of obviously meant to use an axe, because... that Famitsu scan. xD

    ...anyways... should Maribelle be associated with Thunder spells then?

    Does it look good on this render?

    Can't she use the heal animation for her cut-in? I suppose Fire/Thunder spells suit her nicely.

    Are you doing for Spotpass characters too? Like Erika, Lyn, Est etc.

  13. Winner: Interceptor.

    My use for Armsthrift is to abuse glass weapons, followed by legendaries. This means I need a near-perfect activation on Armsthrift (especially for the glass weapons), so it's reserved for super-late postgame. Given that I am extremely stingy with those things that I have problems replacing, it is well worth it for me.

    Why is there a winner for a opinion question? lol

    Armsthift are fun, Bow runs are fun, so is using Underdog bow, glass weapons and all these low grade low durability but amazing mt stuffs.

    You get them often from event tiles, and you won't be utilizing them without armsthrift.

  14. Got it on 3rd attempt.

    For the 3rd attempt I brought in two Guest Avatars with LB, Pavise, Aegis, Armsthrift and GF (Female) and Ingis (Male). The Male was a Sniper and the female was a Swordmaster. Never went to the Throne the entire map. After the first round I just juggled them around the fort in the bottom-left corner. The Sniper + Towering Bow came in handy for the Enemy Snipers with Longbows. While the enemies were busy trying to kill mine My AvatarxChrom took them out one by one. I lost my Guest Avatars in Round 5 (200,000G to recruit them both again ^_^) though my AvatarxChrom's HP never went below 50. Still had two unused Forged Brave Lances left over though.

    I'd say if you have Guest Avatars or Avatars from your other save files USE THEM! The money needed to recruit them again is trivial compared to losing a permanent unit. Plus their stats are superior to the Spotpass Teams.

    By all that's holy...I'm just glad I only had to do that once xD

    Gratz! Care to share what skills you'll be giving her? Who knows you'll be bringing her to clear the secret path.
