Can you be divisive without being big? Who has ever bickered over someone utterly forgettable? Like Geitz. Or Shinon even, he could be very divisive, but isn't since he isn't so popular.

Interesting. I think Shinon is a pretty good example, by you. He does get a fair amount of support with a few that utterly detest him. Unlike say, Makalov, who is almost universally disliked.

He was, but that doesn’t change the fact that he still didn’t make it despite being in a better position to rally up to 2nd than Anna is now.

It’s almost like he actually outgained Ephraim last year, yet lost because his votes were split for no good reason.

I mean, Eirika got robbed too. That didn't help her get support. :\

Hey, you two, cut it out.  A full read-through of this topic would prove you wrong.

I literally don't see anything wrong with calling Camilla divisive. What...?

And no... this topic doesn't prove anything. Having a big following doesn't exempt you from being a divisive character, lol.

Camilla clearly sells despite what the like/dislike ratios on YT show though. Though not everyone voting for her likes her that much. I have two friends in a discord server I am in who claim to be voting for her, solely for "the Reddit salt".

She is just a disivie character. It has nothing to do with "minorities", which I often see being thrown around. She has a lot of fans, she has a lot of haters, she has a lot of people who don't care but think she's got too many alts.

EDIT: I cannot restate this enough If you do not want Camilla to get a slot, vote Micaiah or FemRobin. Has to be one of those two. Can't go for Eirika, or Anna, or anybody else. We don't know how much of a lead Camilla has, it has to be a focused effort. Splitting the effort means Camilla gets a slot.

I refuse, I will NOT give that blank slate vermin any votes. I'm going Eirika and Micaiah.

Admittedly I'm a bit confused as to how both Robins jumped up so far.... and I'm guessing the number of voters this year are much smaller as they're hiding the actual vote tallies and two different Annas have managed to break top 10 for females. But I don't see a combined effort behind one Anna breaking into the top 2.

Female Robin beating Eirika... I have no words.

  7. Reddit has Anna and Camilla as top candidates, Twitter has Anna and Camilla as top candidates, Gamefaqs has Camilla as top candidate and here it just looks like everyone voting randomly.

Guess I'll just be taking my free Alm and erasing this CYL from memory. Next years just going to be Three Houses fiesta as well!

I hope Charlotte can reach a ranking high enough to qualify for 'farfetched heroes' so she can break the alt only curse (and bring Firesweep axe with her).

Farfetched is going to be Beasts fiesta. Only hope is that the Fates beasts get a banner before Farfetched... which is very, very possible.

I don't see her outperforming the Cat Laguz, though.

My opinion about the Tikis and Azuras discussion: Young Azura isn't canon. There isn't a Young Azura in Fates, so I consider her a Alt. I consider Young Tiki and Adult Tiki different characters because they are from different game, have different personalities, and both Tikis are canon.

Do you consider Karel from 6 and 7 to be the same?

Because it's literally the same circumstance as Tiki.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one other thing that makes me disappointed here. The way IS has been treating Tellius, we won't see anymore of it for another year. And I really don't want to wait another year for Ranulf or Kieran or whoever else...

Think of it this way, if this banner does well (which it looks like it'll be doing better than any banner we've had for the past few months), that means IS will be more like to continue doing Tellius banners!

If we include Aversa, there's also a case for counting Gharnef with Ylgr and Surtr.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair.

Farfetched/Brave Redux has 3-banner units and one-freebie (I think the one who scored the lowest out of the four). Joshua was a TT, now Aversa is a GHB. They're intended to be grouped together, whilst Gharnef isn't meant to be grouped with the OCs.

I don't even know why the developers have such a hard on for Fates specifically. Isn't Awakening technically more beloved than Fates?

Wait, was it? I always thought Fates was more successful. It gets so much pandering in Cipher and Heroes, so I'm surprised that Awakening is more beloved than Fates to Intelligent Systems.

Maybe it has to do with the seasonal alts from year 1. The Ylissian alts were underwhelming except Bride Cordelia. Like, you'd only pull for Summer Gaius if you were a Gaius fan... and his honey moon popularity was over by his release. Then Christmas hit with insane powercreep.

Her design is mediocre. I really don't understand this craze about being smitten over generic enemies. It's not even like the Fates generics that had better designs than most of the playable cast.

  14. Best:

    • Combat Manuals: The best quality of life change since the game launched.
    • Genealogy Banners: Honesty saved the terrible onslaught of regular banners from being a 1/10 this year.
    • Summon Tickets: Removed any urge I have to summon on current Hero Fest.
    • Legendary Hero Choices: For the most part, pretty solid choices for Legendary Heroes this year.
    • Aether Raids: A damaged, but good mode. Hurt by the current meta.

    Worst:

    • Brave Veronica: Only due to the existence of Dazzling/Firesweep.
    • Awakening/Fates Seasonal Spam: With Love Abounds showing that other games can get love (and be successful), they completely dropped it after this seasonal to give us the same Fates royals and boring Awakening characters (Chrom, Tharja, Cordelia).
    • Awakening/Fates Regular Banner Spam: The first year was dedicated for each game in the franchise to catch up... Only to get spammed next year with Awakening/Fates banners putting them behind even more than they caught up.
    • Ignored 5* Bases: Luke/Mist still terrible with no weapon refine in sight.
    • Character Alts being included before the Regular version of a character: Noire and Mikoto following the precedent set by Charlotte.
    • Grails: Should have just added TT units to the permanent summon pool as 3-4 base units. Missed opportunity.
    • Story and Character Release Schedule: Still abysmally slow.
    • Powercreep: Self-explanatory.

Honestly, kind of a bad year for Heroes and me. Here's to the Radiant Dawn banner picking up interest.

Nah. That's just Surtr's banner being the worst performing new heroes banner in the game and a lack of interest in the game. Whales spend money regardless of what month it is

It's no real surprise. The two new banners this month both the most hated banners in this games existence. Hopefully this means a break from 2-person banners, OCs, alts and Awakening/Fates, but Radiant Dawn isn't till January... So what's the New Heroes banner this month? I do hope it is Archanea, but I'm doubtful.

I literally said that in my original post, did you not read it? -_-

I don't really think they need to change her or any other heroes that have been released, tbh. Not that they can't if they feel it's important, but I honestly doubt they'll view it as important and as stated, they have plenty of reasons to keep her water that make sense, so it's not necessary.

I don't know why you're reiterating that you 'already said that' when my post started with 'You answered it yourself'.

Her reasons for being water are inferior for her reasons to be light.

  17. 17 minutes ago, Sunsurge said:

IF it was a "fact", then why is she water? =P Doesn't seem like the precedent is correct then, now does it? Not to mention these "arbitrary ties" are clearly what they went with when deciding her element in FEH.

So it's not really an excuse, it's what they did based on what they had when they came up with her. 4 elements, they had to choose one. Water realistically made the most sense. Sure if she was introduced later she'd have been Light, but it wasn't a possibility, so yes that is actually 100% an excuse.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it can't be excused.

You answered it yourself. She's water because light hadn't been released yet. Hence, why they should change her to light.
