  1. The kids I pretty much listed are the only ones I plan to use so I'm not too worried about the ones I didn't list like Ignis they're just be throw away children.

I do plan to use all the ones I listed though. None of the pairings are like super set in stone a side from Marx/Hinoka, Asama/Oboro, Elise/Odin, Kamui/Ophelia and Saizou/Orochi.

    So I'm open to suggestions.

I considered Kagerou for Shino I didn't even think about Mozu that seems legit and is Eponine really magic oriented? Didn't look at her stats yet.

    I'm mainly going Charlotte!Sophie because I want a female fighter :>

  2. Hello guys doing my final JP Revelations file to play future DLC and what not and currently working on children. My current pairings right now are

    Camillia!Velour
    Sophie!Charlotte?
    Grey!Orochi
    Mitama!Oboro
    Ophelia!Elise
    Siegbert!Hinoka
    Foleo!Nyx
    Kinu!Pieri
    Eponine!Beruka
    Elise!Ophelia
    Elise!Ophelia!Kanna

I know some mothers can be placed else where for better children but in the case of Marx/Hinoka that's just a personal fav of mine and I thinks she's a pretty good mother for Siegbert.

to make it easier I will list the children that are priority right now.

Out of the mothers left who would be good for Sophie(I feel like Charlotte would be legit tbh), Matoi(I kinda wanna go with Luna but if it'll hurt her I will consider someone better) Shino and Shigure(I heard Ryouma/Azura was better but If I can make them better units with different parents I'm welcome to changing that)

    Thanks in Advance.
  3. 1. I never played FE 12(I have never played, FE 1, 2, and 3/12 I never played 12 cause I don't like shadow dragon) so that is not very helpful, but good that it is less RNG based.
    2. Let me say this more simply do most the units either become (or more preferably) stay useful in late game (for example Sages, War Monks, and Generals are not very useful in the end game of awakening). I hate wasting my time with units that amount to nothing.
    3. Thank goodness
    4. Good, now by glass canon do you mean she is slow or just low defense.
    5. Okay I know that they changed magic a little but just so you know Spellcaster and Witch mean nothing mean nothing to me, but it is good to know at that there is at least good mage or is Leon not a mage.... I really should look more into this since I don't care about spoilers for this games...
    6. Good as should be, the Jagan shall be benched when his job is done.
    7. I don't avoid using good weapon I avoid using horribly broken ones that are easily obtainable and cheap (ie brave weapons are good but usually hard to get, I am cool with those, so I guess I am only talking about Nosferatu in FE 13) this question was far more directed to Nosferatu in FE 13, Henry can solo entire army with it.
    8. Well I was was not going to do it on my first run, but I liked the resource management aspects of the previous fire emblem games... I mean Awakening already got rid of do to it giving out gold and weapons like it was candy, and making nothing rare.... I would have given up hope for It being part of fire emblem for good now if it was not for Nohr/Conquest being "low on resources"... I thought It might make a interesting run if it was possible, I still might try to find a way to include it.... I will fess up to it if I end liking it, but you are much more likely to find Santa in July then me admitting that I think that the removal of weapon durability is an overall improvement to fire emblem (though I cerebrate its removal in Fallout so I might eat my words....).

    1. I pretty much explained how FE12 Lunatic is in my first post I thought... Go play it nerd!!! good game.

    2. There are no classes in this game that really feel that way outside of like Golden Kite Warrior(though tbh I haven't tested it with other Peg Knights cause Falcon Knight is just better) I guess simple answer no.

    4. I think everyone else pretty much answered that question for you.

    5. Spellcaster = New Mage, Witch = DLC Class that is based off of a Gaiden class, Dark Mage = Dark Mage from Awakening it got heavily nerfed in the Speed department but Kamui and Leon can make it work as well as Ophelia. You said you don't care about spoilers so I'm just gonna name shit that you can look up later :P Leon is a Dark Knight.

    6. Ye dude Gunther is garbage man lol. I don't even think he's really necessary for Lunatic outside of literally one chapter.

    7. Yeah there is nothing really crazy broken on the tier of FE4 weapons or FE13's Nosferatu.

    8. You can have resource management without durability, this isn't the first FE game to not have durability. Also Nohr pretty much gives you no money but you can fix that by having Midoriko as a Herb Merchant(When she kills stuff she gets gold, honestly this is needed in Hard/Lunatic I find) and DLC. A lot of people were sketch about durability but most people I've talked to thought it was done well in this game as in not in at all. I'd be open to durability returning if it was done like FE4 though.

  4. So one of many way in I able to actually get enjoyment out of Awakening was play with made up rules among those was never using a second seal (as I think reclassing has no business being in fire emblem, not to mention how broken it was in Awakening and Shadow Dragon) this worked great on hard mode, though a lot of units became unless and whole classes became irrelevant (Sages, Dark Riders, Generals, Warriors(though warriors being useless is par the course for fire emblem), Valkyries (oh far one of my favorite classes has fallen), and War Monks.), still it worked I had my fun. But I when tried to do no Grind, no Second Seal, and no Added Stuff (renown rewards, secret shops, momentary stat booters, no abusing the Fredrick button, among other misc weapon rules) Lunatic playthough it didn't work, first abusing Fredrick was not an option (I know some people like playing Sacred Seth, and Path of Titania but I enjoy Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance quite a bit more), and second I found that while it might be possible in theory to play with the rest of my rules in places it became clear that the game resented me for having them and it became nigh impossible to beat because the game had to compensate for all of its broken systems. so without further adieu I will get on with my questions.

    1. What is Lunatic like in Fates? is it like Hector Hard Mode, Hard but Flexible (ie. Most units can still relevant and useful), it like Radiant Dawn Hard Mode, Harder, not as Flexible, but still fair, or is like Awakening Lunatic, linear(as there is not often more that on way to approach the map), unbalanced, and no sense of what a difficultly curve is.

    2. To me a lot of the replayibility of fire emblem come from bringing different sets units to end game, so are most of the units end game relevant (keep in mind that a good unit does not equal being end game relevant, ie Rebecca is not a good unit but she is end game relevant because she can eventually hold her own, Lissa is not end game relevant as all Sage's and War Monk's have no use beyond skill abuse).

    3. Are Knights as good as Owsin or Gatrie in this game or at least Gilliam or Brom... I don't need any more Arden's and Kellam's in my life...

    4. Are Healers useful for anything other than being a staff bot or I my days of watching Serra wreaking entire armies on mountains over....

    5. Are Sages back to the former glory or do Dark Mages make them completely irrelevant again (impression of the same IS employee who thought giving sages knives was a great idea "you know what we should really do give dark mages anima too just to make sages all the more pointless, that is a great idea, also don't forgot to not actually give dark magic to any of the other classes labeled as dark cause that's not confusing at all...)

    6. Do have to abuse my Jagan for a long time.

    7. Are there any weapons that are broken as heck that I need to avoid using (ie. FE 7 Luna, FE11 Wing Spear, FE13 so many things, but mostly Nosferatu)

    8. Would it be possible to come up with my own weapon durability system (like for example I can only use a weapon for 2-4 maps before have to sell it or put it away I wouldn't actually count the amount of time I used the weapon I am not that boring) or does the amount of weapons I can get/buy make that totally impractical.

Answer to your title question yes you can beat the game without reclassing

    1. It's like Fire Emblem 12 Lunatic where positioning is key and you get punished moreso for shitty positioning rather than bad RNG. EDIT: Forgot to mention I find Fire Emblem Fate's Lunatic to be challenging(well it's braindead easy in birthright imo) but probably the more easier Lunatic difficulties. Mainly because there honestly isn't a lot of bullshit I find.

    2. yes?

    3. Effie and Benovit are both pretty good. I'd say Effie is like Oswin in Nohr and Benovit is literally just a tank that takes no damage in Nohr. I didn't use him much though cause I don't like how he looks.

    4. I mean Elise is a nice glass cannon and Sakura can promote to War Priestess and fuck up stuff with a Magic Bow. So yeah Healers are more than just Staffbots.

    5. Spellcaster is pretty good Tsukiyomi in IK, Kamui in all 3 routes, Ophelia(If you want to make her a Spellcaster I guess I prefer Witch). In both Birthright and Conquest Magic users outside of say Leon kinda suck imo. Tsukiyomi can work in Birthright just takes some work. Also Sorc got a HEAVY HEAVY nerf in the Speed department same with Dark Knight but Kamui can make it work. I've done Dark Knight Kamui for Birthright.

    6. I didn't tbh everyone says Gunther is good I think he's hot garbage and I didn't need him at all he kinda just took damage here and there for me.

    7. Why would you avoid using a good weapon? That seems silly to me I guess no.

    8. Don't trip off of durability dude just play the game first lol. You don't get a lot of money in this game the game is designed around not using durability and you know what? It's great cause durability is an annoying mechanic glad it's gone makes weapons more "personal" I guess especially after you forge them.

  5. Not sure if you choose to ignore me saying Dragonstones are a strong early game item Levant but thats what im trying to tell you lol. Yato isnt all that useful early game at least with +Mag outside of ORing some Archers.

Also i said in my last post you'd ideally keep using Dragonstones till you got useful units and class changed to whatever you want. Which is usually around Chapter 8~12 honestly the beauty about Yato though its useful without being equiped which makes stuff like Spellcaster(Ending in Dark Blood or Exorcist ) and Ninja really strong

I think they're useless late and post game but honestly I havent tested them with my +Mag build late/post they probably pack quite the punch but obviously it'd be better to use like a Tome or Yato unless you just wanna tank.

  6. Maybe, but honestly, I think Dragonstones fall victim to "Awesome But Impractical" big time. They're good for finishing off weakened enemies, and not much else, unfortunately...

Not sure if I worded my last post correctly but I pretty much meant Dragonstones are pretty strong for early game chapters till you actually get useful units, Cause you'll straight up one shot stuff as +Mag Kamui. Once you switch your class to Spellcaster or whatever you want when you run +Mag Dragonstones become not needed of course as they sorta suck in this game.

When I run +STR I usually keep a parallel Seal on me and second seal immediately after level 10 to whatever I'm going(Usually Samurai and Ninja) and for the most part dodge everything with Joker/Felicia pairup(Joker pairup being slightly better for that)

I haven't tried +DEF myself but I don't think it's "needed" in this game like it was in Awakening for Lunatic.

  7. Back when I first started didn't think much Hinata on either route. But man those base stats are really good for Birthright and insta-promoted Hinata can put in work for early game Revelations on Lunatic.

Used to think that Lazward > Pieri, but now it is the other way around. Only meaningful thing he has over Pieri is Hp(debatably skill) and they are either basically the same in some areas(Str, Spd, Def) or Pieri is just better than him(Weapon Ranks, Class, Move, Res).

For the longest time I didn't get Asama. Now I'm at the point where I'm pretty sure he just isn't good. All the other staff/support units are better than him. And his combat doesn't really standout from everyone else and he had to go through the motions of being a staff lock while everyone else has been putting in work since their joins.

Oh Hinata is actually worth it? Everyone kept saying he was like not good cause he had Tank stats or whatever, I figure you promote him to Blacksmith? Also I'll have to try out Hinata in Revelations I'm having issues doing chapters without grinding a tiny bit on Revelations :/

As for Lazward and Pieri I haven't used either before I thought Pieri's personal would make her pretty neat though I will try her out next playthrough.

Asama doesn't really seem worth using his daughter is cool though I like Rinkah!Mitama there might be something better.

  8. I doubt it'd be that... All stats aren't created equal, after all.

Kamui doesn't need +DEF at all, There isn't a high enough demand for it. You could go +MAG and cheese your way through the early game one shotting stuff with Magicstones and then switch to whatever your secondary is once you get some members.

Honestly I think Kamui is tanky enough without +DEF I was able to tank stuff as Spellcaster with Felicia/Joker pair up it's very powerful.

  9. How was Dark Knight Kamui in Hoshido? I've been strongly considering this, but haven't had the opportunity to put it into actual practice yet [don't have the game].

Did you go Nohr Prince --> Dark Mage --> Dark Knight or Nohr Prince ---> White Blood --> Dark Knight? Or some other path?

Did you use a +MAG asset? What of the flaw?

How did you handle the speed issues? Yato I assume (+2 SPD part way through, +4 SPD in the last two chapters) helps. But did you do stuff like Pegasus/Samurai/Ninja/Spellcaster pair-up, tonics, Horse God, etc.

Dark Knight in Hoshido is great. The speed issue in Hoshido actually isn't a problem at all cause I mean you have other issues to finish off stuff for you really. It's a bit difficult before you promote.

I went Nohr Prince till 10(Or 15 cause some chapters are hard to beat as a Dark Mage) > Dark Mage > Dark Knight. White Blood is useless so I didn't even bother going there for anything

I went +MAG/-LCK I paired up with Joker pretty much all the time and yes I used Horse God sometimes. I'd imagine Tonics would help but I get lazy about reading stuff so I also didn't bother with that haha.

  10. Unfortunately I always feel awkward marrying the second gen, either with MaMU or FeMU. I didn't mean any offense to those who marries them, please understand, it's just personal preference. I really like Cordelia, but I think I will refrain from marrying Matoi because of the same reason.

So... is Dark Mage necessary on Hoshido route? If I go for physical Avatar, would it put me under disadvantages?

Yeah I find it awkward as well but I figure if I play Male I'm gonna have to do it or marry a Kamuisexual anyways(of course I could always sacrifice Benovit's child cause I don't really care for him lol) but marrying a 2nd gen seems like the only way to get a decent Kanna. Particularly Syalla, Ophelia and Velour off the top of my head. Matoi probably wouldn't be that good anyways.

Nothing is really necessary I just mentioned a few classes that are considered "top tier"

In this game you want to go +STR or +MAG depending on what you want. If you're going Hybrid I'd go +MAG if you're going straight up Physical +STR.

Unlike Awakening in Lunatic you don't really want to go +DEF

  11. I originally thought Kamui was okay but multiple lunatic playthroughs and using my head made me realize that he is pretty broken lol.

If you want a decent Kanna you want to marry a 3rd Gen unforunately they arent like Morgan who is broken regardless. Ive tested a lot with Kanna im working on my final test which is a Spellcaster > Dark Blood set if shes still underwhelming after that i just give up.

As for secondary class Samurai, Ninja, Cavalier and Spellcaster are top tier choices. I think Dark Knight/Sorc is pretty good in Hoshido

  12. Weapon durability is a very touchy subject still to people cause the game isnt out yet in NA also most NA players havent played Gaiden so no durability is kinda foreign.

I was extremely excited when i saw its removal i hate durabiliy with a passion. Though i loved how it was done on FE4. Removal of durability also makes weapons feel more personal at least to me utilizing the forging system and what not.

I was upset about children but We got some cool ones out of it. Even though i dont really pay attentiom to story much in these games i sorta hate how children just got shoved in lol

  13. So its safe to say the Fire Emblem series is a series that can change without a patch or new versions.

Maybe its new glitches or exploits. Not really noticing the worth in a unit(I'm looking at Leaf and Marcus in particular)

So anything you change your mind on? For me i originally thought Pegasus Knights sucked and mainly Tsubaki but i realized him paired up with Hana is pretty good and he usually out preforms my Hinoka.

I also and people will laugh at me for this. Thought Kamui was hot gabage well not hot garbage just "okay" but i discovered the beauty of secondary classes and magical builds like Spellcaster > Dark Blood Kamui, Magical Cavalier, Dark Knight Kamui(This is great in Hoshido), Ninja and Samurai to namr a few.

Current opinion that is sorta negative is on IK balancing and Map design. i feel like its garbage but perhaps im not playing the maps correctly.

  14. I found Conquest on Normal to be really easy but challenging for the first time. I reset in Chapter 16 and decided to try it out on Hard and that fit more of my style. You do have the option of switching the difficulty whenever you want(IS was really afraid they balanced Nohr like shit but it was done well imo)

I was also using a +STR/-DEF Kamui cause I didn't read the Kanji correctly if that means anything lmao. Oh and Secondary class Wyvern rider but never used it

  15. I guess they are trying to learn from their mistakes with ESPECIALLY FE4 and Awakening lol.

Though I do think Ophelia is a bit busted cause of that personal skill and personal weapon. I keep hearing people talk about how good Lutz is, He never was appealing to me though so never really looked into him.
