For Chapters 1-14 IK Magic Kamui using a Dragonstone and Dragonstones kinda suck lol. So i woukd imagine spellcaster can do work. How is Dark Mage? Im interested in Roy's build.

+Mag Spellcaster is actually legit? You'd still ideally wanna get level 10 before swapping correct? and people have done that in all 3 routes? Interesting. I was under the impression Magic users just suck in this game cause honestly only one I could get going for me was Ophelia. +Mag Spellcaster might be something I wanna try out in NA release and maybe end on Witch.
Is +Mag better than +STR Cavalier? or are they about the same?
Also I was under the impression Samurai was just better for IK cause you can dodge tank a lot stuff in the early game and have it be a legit strategy(Some bosses early on will have a 0%-20% chance to hit) Not that I disagree at all but I'd like to read your reasoning for why the other 3 are better for IK so I can take that for consideration in future playthroughs :> -
Hello guys not really sure if there is a thread up on this I searched but I kinda mentioned this in other threads and kinda just want to make my own thread for it.
What are your Kamui builds for Hard/Lunatic? Any interesting ones or ones you guys think sound good on paper? I wanna test some out.
One I'm sorta interested in is a Pegasus Warriors/Wyvern Lord build I know you wouldn't get the ability to use Swords anymore which sucks cause that means no Yato but It's something I wanted to test out mainly for a friend who likes those classes.
As for me I have tried
+Mag/-LCK Dragonstone Tank for all 3 routes my first playthrough (Then I found out Dragonstones aren't really that great in this game
+Mag/-LCK Paladin is something I'm experimenting right now on Hoshido utilizing the Shockstick till Yato just becomes objectively better.
+STR/-RES Ninja for Nohr(I think people know how good this is)
+STR/-RES Samurai this is something I have tried for all 3 routes and I think it's especially broken as a Fem Kamui with a paired up Joker.
So anyways any interesting ones you guys have tried out? I'm curious. -
I'm surprised at the amount of people saying Hoshido > Nohr lol.
Nohr > Hoshido > IK for me.
Nohr maps are very interesting.
Hoshido maps are pretty straight forward.
IK Maps I dunno I kinda hate them but this is the file we'll be using for future DLC so we kinda need it lol. It has a ton of balancing issues I pretty much just used +Mag Kamui to get through it the first time through. Now I'm using Fem Kamui with Samurai STR+/-RES. The units they give you just I dunno I don't agree with it at all what were they thinking. I'm not sure how it is on Normal maybe it's better I'm currently playing on Lunatic but Odin not being able to kill anything on his join chapter is kinda pathetic. -
Are any SMT characters actually in the game or has that idea just been scrapped completely?

Hamayama not using buffs at all kinda frustrated me but I was under the impression that he probably only played Persona 3/4 so that'd make a lot of sense why he thought buffs were useless(Buffs are still very useful in this games but not really I guess needed)
I saw him complain several times about the game's difficulty and all I had to say is "Welcome to SMT sonny sit down and enjoy your stay" lol.
The game seems like a mixture of DDS(Transformations and what not) and classic SMT which is really cool. I thought it was gonna be Nintendo Persona in terms of gameplay which woulda been fine but I don't wanna blast through that game. Liking what I've seen so far.
Also did you guys catch all the promotions? I think Tharja can be Sage and Virion can become Assassin some of the Kanji was hard for me to read cause I'm kinda sorta blind. -

Two Streamers got the game early I believe they are done for tonight but you can check out the vod. I assume they'll stream again around 8PM PST maybe an hour earlier. -

So chances are if you pre-ordered within this month you're probably fucked but if you pre-ordered somewhere around the direct you should be fine. -

I completely forgot about Grey, The puppet healing with Butler seems kinda neat can't wait to try that.
Who do you marry Flannel to in Nohr? I heard Effie is good but if I'm gonna get Lutz shouldn't Effie be the mother?(To be honest I probably wont' get Lutz I don't like him lol) but If I was going to I'd like to know my other options.

Haha you're totally using an asset/flaw build I stole from another user here. Answering these in order:
The "blood" classes are indeed sub par but not terrible. They seem like failsafe classes in case you picked a subclass that can't use Yato or something. Dark Blood can be pretty decent coming out of Spellcaster since the Tome rank carries and you get a bit bulkier but mixed classes are never as good as specialty ones.
I have never used Kanna because Kanna isn't very good in game.
+Mag/-Lck Paladin is Gwimpage's build. You are correct in that Levin sword is the build's main appeal. Levin sword until you need Yato basically. Mount + strong 1-2 range. Might work better as Mamui x Felicia since her personal gives a damage bonus and even with +Mag, Cav Kamui's magic is sketch.
+Str/-Res Samurai is pretty ridiculous. 55% HP/70% Str/60% Skl/60% Spd/40% Defense growths, on top of proc stacking Astra and Dragon Fang, on top of avoid stacking Yato plus class bonus plus Jakob personal + flowing Strike, on top of swordfaire + Yato. It's all just really really dumb. It works great in IK because 3rd route Yato is a totally balanced weapon.
+Str/-Res Ninja is mostly the same deal, except with 1-2 range and no swordfaire/Astra proc stacking. Ninja Kamui makes a lot of Nohr's hardest chapters noticeably easier save 26. I recommend it over Samurai for Nohr.
Ahh I see I will consider some options then, I totally abused DLC for IK mainly because I just wanted to get a file ready for potential future challenge chapters but I think I might start all over and actually try.
I was afraid Kanna was just mediocre :/ that's unfortunate but I guess that means I get to care less about optimizing that unit(aka I can marry who the hell I want lol)
Who are the children you would consider going out of your way to get? I went for Midoriko, Kanna, Siegbert, Sophie and Ophelia(I actually went out of my way to get Witch for her)
I also hear Pass is pretty much needed in the final chapter of Lunatic but I wasn't really told why so I assume getting pass on Zero and passing it down to Eponine and switching her into a Bow Knight would be a good move.
EDIT: I didn't really include much about Hoshido cause I feel it's pretty basic and easy regardless of difficulty but I could be wrong.

I don't think Levin sword is normally Available in Hoshido, but Shocksticks/Shinrai Naginatas areā¦..
Ah that's correct I completely forgot about that, Unless I abuse "My Castle" but I would like to not abuse that.
Cav seems like a good side for Hoshido though regardless, It's something I'd like to try out for sure

Hello I have a few questions regarding Kamui and Kanna
So I'm starting my Lunatic playthroughs pretty soon on each route(I did Hard my first playthroughs) I'm curious what's actually good for Kamui and Kanna class wise is Nohr Prince/Princess pretty wack compared to the other options?
In Nohr I ended as a Dark Blood
In Hoshido I ended as White Blood but I also was a Trueblade for Astra but I kinda felt like I shoulda just stayed Trueblade
In IK I think I was doing some sorta weird White Blood utility build.
Ninja into Elite Ninja was brought up as an option to me and I find it very interesting I intend to try it out in Nohr Lunatic.
Also I feel like unlike Morgan Kanna actually needs a good mother. IK I married Velour, Hoshido Hana and Nohr Azura. I feel like the Nohr Prince/Princess class might actually be garbage for her and I'm better off reclassing her into a pure physical class(I considered Great Lord) what have you guys done with your Kannas?
Also I saw +MAG Paladin as an option that looks pretty neat as well would you be using Levin Sword for the majority of the game then switch it up to Yato during the end game orrr? I planned to try +MAG Paladin in Hoshido Lunatic.

I think it's mostly preference. People seem to like speedy classes, and Ninja emphasizes Spd. Also, Ninja provides debuff utility (which might not be as useful in Birthright, but perhaps more so in Conquest, especially if you reclass your butler/maid) and allows Corrin to keep swords (for Yato).
EDIT: I found this on GFAQ's, and this might be a better reason:This is really interesting, I'll try it out for my NA playthrough. Overall do you guys think the Dark/White Blood classes are just straight up weak? Now that I think more and more about it(I didn't really look into numbers tbh) I felt like my Kamui/Corrin was wrecking more face as a Trueblade and the only reason I decided to go back to Dark/White Blood is because I felt obligated to(And same thing with Kanna).
Perhaps my current IK options for Kanna(Not counting the marriage/buddy options) are Velour's class(Which I heard is pretty neat), Blacksmith, Trueblade and of course the Dark/White Blood classes.
I would have just gave Kanna Great Lord but I'm an idiot and gave it to Aqua not really considering the fact that hey Warp/Singing Aqua is better in every way and Aqua does not have the HP to support a Melee class but hey first playthrough mistakes I guess. In prep for when I do Lunatic for NA.

I didn't actually read the personal skill till now lol. That might be something to look into but I were to do something like that though I'd probably wanna go +MAG all the way.
Not really interested in marrying Syalla though cause ick I'd probably go for Ophelia. -
You didn't remember your Assets and flaws for all of those playthroughs?
I went +MAG/-LCK for IK and Hoshido but +STR/-DEF(I didn't read the kanji correctly :<)
If growths are (Variable + Child)/2, then your Kanna should have a 45% Str growth, and Dark/White Blood should boost it to 60%. But if you, say, reclass her to Berserker, then you'd get 70%. So if you keep her in the physical class for 10 levels, then you'd only get 1 more Str on average. So reclassing her for only 10 levels will probably not be that effective, especially if she's already promoted (and has to potentially deal with a new weapon rank late game).
When I suggested reclassing, I was mostly thinking of immediate reclassing, similarly to how people reclass Corrin to Ninja right away. (Of course, it's probably practical to keep Kanna in the Nohr Princess tree, since +15% Str is pretty decent and the class has good skills... but if you want to optimize your Kanna, I personally think reclassing might do her more good.)
Ah I see, People have been reclassing Kamui to Ninja? That's interesting for what purpose and what assets? I personally went for Samurai and than Trueblade for Astra.

Ahh I see, I think right now I'm rockin a Effie!Velour!Kanna in IK my Kamui is going +MAG/-Luck(Really hard to get through early game without that imo on Lunatic anyways)
I'll for sure try out Charlotte!Velour!Kanna in the future though
If I end up wanting my Kanna to end on Dark/White Blood should I just have her in a pure Physical class for a good 10 levels than switch back? -
Okay guys I didnt see Kanna in the unit optimization or anywhere unless im blind(i am sorta) so what is the deal with this character i cannot get her to deal big damage in Dark Blood or White Blood she just feels mediocre.
My Hoshido Kanna was !Hana
My Nohr one i completely forgot
And IK I married Velour
My IK one feels the strongest but not by much.
Im gonna go female Kamui in the NA version and I would love to read you guys builds for Kanna both Male and Female cause im at a lose.

I don't think they're taking a Persona take on this outside of theme, I think it's more of a Digital Devil Saga take, Also in Persona 1/2 they didn't have sub Persona's they just all had the Wild Card ability with limits.
Persona Q introduced the sub Persona mechanic though. which would be cool but tbh.
The Mirages appear to have more personality than Personas so who really knows what they're planning with the enemy mirages. -
as much as I'd just straight up wouldn't want Marth to be a singaloid(Sorry this theme still kills me lmao) That is sorta what I was getting at. I'd like to see him as supporting character though that isn't a singaloid but he probably will be

I considered Dark Mage as an option because for some reason my brain assumed Spellcaster and Dark Mage used different weapons. If i go Spellcaster build I forgot sure wanna end on Witch.
If i went Dark Knight route couldnt pairup fodder fix my speed?
