  1. The point was to be broad. Thing like genre and an individuals tastes aren't really of concern to the question (Obviouslt taste will play a part in the answers given). I'm also intentionally being quite vague, so people can make their own criteria for 'must play'. I'm not trying to be particularly scientific, I'm just curious about any trends that may appear. Well, being a forum for a nintendo game, we do have a somewhat biased sample...
  2. Last week me and a mate of mine were having a few drinks and playing some old ps1 games, and we started discussing 'the best games ever', looking at top [insert number here] lists of best games of all time and the like. What games would you say are must play (definitive) games? Not necessarily your favourite games, or the like, but games which are unique or games which define a genre. Just curious to see what everybody else thinks.
  3. Probably doom, since my dad played it a bit while I was really young, and he let me have a go a couple times. First game I clearly remember playing was Kessen II.
  4. Main reason I used Sera was that I didn't use her at all in the first playthrough. Plus she says some funny shit... As far as the rankings go, you're pretty much spot on. Cole's DPS is deadly...
  5. My band and I have recently started playing guitar hero again, and it's actually a lot of fun. (Yes, musicians playing plastic instruments instead of the real thing...) Most rhythm games lost a lot of the fun and challenge when I started learning to play music, but it's still fun with a bunch of people dicking about and drinking, which is the optimal way to play guitar hero. I do have a soft spot for the games though, as rhythm games are a large part of me getting into music, which I'm now doing a degree in, so there's that... And then there's super hexagon. Fuck that game...
  6. Could have a branching class promotion, with one for Hoshido, and one for Nohr (But not restricted to which path you chose)
  7. Yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled with the prospect of paying for a patch, especially a fan made one... I mean, we shouldn't have to pay extra because the product doesn't work as promised... However, if that happens with a big game, the community backlash will be pretty horrific, so I can't see it staying up for long.
  8. Happy to see content creators being payed for their work, but the mod creators aren't getting enough of a cut, especially with payment being withheld until $100 is owed to them, meaning the mod needs to make $400 before they get a penny. Assuming that Valve and Bethesda both get an equal cut of the 75% (Which is rather unlikely), then Valve are also making an awful lot of money, considering they have no hand in the creation of the product, and are purely a distribution platform for the mods. I'm also quite worried that some mods will now try much harder to sell themselves, advertising tiny graphical tweaks as complete overhauls and the like, to make some cash. Also worried that some mods will be rushed out, or patches/updates will be ignored so the creator can make a new half-baked money maker. I do think that the larger mods (eg Falskaar/BTHKOS) will benefit from this, as they will have reason to put more effort in, beyond as a labour of love. However, I'm sure well see plenty of 'extra apple in bannered mare' mods cropping up...
  9. As a university student, that isn't really an option for me, and if it was, there's a good chance it'll come out when I'm really busy (pretty much the first half of 2016), so there's that too... May/June would actually be a great release window for me, as 1st and 2nd years on my course finish late may/early june.
  10. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Kamui's class just became 'Lord' in localisation for consistency's sake.
  11. [spoiler=All of my Rage] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwuBOwXnsJI
  12. Got the game a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying it. The only criticisms I have so far are that the AI pathfinding isn't great, and I'd have liked a bit more voice acting. Having chosen a paladin for my avatar, I really like that my passive buffs change depending on how much my actions align with my order. Thought that was a really nice touch.
  13. I ran an ice based knight enchanter for my second playthrough. Added the barrage and chain lighting from lightning, and barrier from spirit, and he became a great support/tank. decent from range and melee, durable, with great crowd control. Had a party with Sera (DPS, high crit build), Blackwall (Pure tank) and Iron Bull (Bulky damager). Only problem was the penultimate boss in Jaws of Hakkon... So many ice resistances...
  14. What about moody glalie, followed by a mega after a few turns? Dat headbutt... Mmm...
  15. Another booze fueled topic (as those of you who know me will already have guessed) Anyways, it's in the title really, what's your favourite tier/meta? Personally, I like UU and Monotype. I like UU mostly because I've actually found a semi decent team, and monotype because I feel like a gym leader, plus it's fun to find a balanced team with a common type. (Poison FTW!)
  16. Welcome to the forest. Beware the ship wars, for they are unclean. Happy posting!
  17. I did that on showdown, then my browser decided to delete my cookies, and I lost them all... I found that some typically 'bad' types are actually pretty diverse and have some fun tactics. My favourite is a toxic spikes poison team with venoshock Nidoking and Hex Gengar. Nidoking and mega beedrill can make short work of steel types, which are this teams biggest weakness.
  18. Dude, Join? Tortterra has some good alternatives for grass and ground types, (Roserade, Mamoswine), which makes him fairly replaceable, one of which can be obtained pretty early on, which somewhat lowers his value compared to the other starters. However, he does work well against a lot of the gyms, and his ground secondary type lets him work against those pesky fire types, particularly the rivals Infernape. However, deathly allergic to ice, but Ice type isn't particularly common, and is a rather poor typing, so it's a fairly easy weakness to cover. My 2nd favourite grass starter, although no.1 is purely routed in nostalgia.
  19. Amelia If you want a well rounded one, use franz/forde, but Kyle fits the caps better, with higher STR/DEF/ and lower SPD/RES...
  20. Cheers. some of this is pretty surprising. I was expecting fairy to be higher...
  21. It's not so much that it solves the problems as tolerates them. Personally I think playing casual on the lowest difficulty should add extra helpful tips and whatnot to the UI, to somewhat solve the problem. It's a step towards the solution, more than the whole solution.
  22. It means that you can still play without that understanding without being punished later down the line. It lowers the entry barrier so people can learn, as opposed to 'Hey, you forgot hammers beat armour, say goodbye to your general'. I agree that it's not 'the true experience', but it means you can work things out as you go at your own pace, instead of having to work something out to progress.
  23. #1085... Hmm... Surname overload, Gen 1 imminent #84 Doduo. Great...
