  1. All i did was edit the name of the Rapier. I think it might have something to do with my new computer not having everything installed yet.
  2. Fore FEditor i have been doing what you are saying. I saved before editing. Cept this time i got this error. Afer pressing ok, the usually loud screeching noise played.
  3. I got a few questions, mostly FE8 related. This thread will end up containing all dumb questions i get in the future as well. First Question: I seem to be having trouble dissambling an FE8 chapter. I've followed tutorials and when i put in the offset for the chapter 1 offsets. i get this error: Finished. 1 errors encountered: Exception: System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary. at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key) at Nintenlord.Event_Assembler.Core.Program.Disassemble(String inputFile, String outputFile, String languageName, Boolean addEndGuards, DisassemblyMode mode, Int32 offset, Priority priority, Int32 size, ILog messageLog) at Nintenlord.Event_Assembler.UserInterface.MainForm.<.ctor>b__3(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs args) No data written to output. Next question: I'm having alot of trouble using the text editor from FEditor adv on FE8. I know I've gotten it to work in the past, but now anytime i attempt to edit any text the game will crash upon viewing said text.
  4. most longbow archers have been changed to that as well as pshycic staves. I think i forgot to change the AI of all of the healers though prior to chapter 7. Shit
  5. I've actually decided to do Ephraim's route about an hour ago. Namely to redo that chapter where your attacking the king and stuff. I want to greatly increase the difficulty, you are invading Grado's CAPITAL and attacking their FREAKING KING! I believe it should be harder. Anyway, I cant freaking get to that chapter because my thief keeps on dieing to 40 hit rates on chapter 8. Until then, here's a link for a patch that has everything I've currently done! Please do not that i have left all growths and stats unaltered cause im a lazy idiot.   7. I needed a lance class that wasnt knight/flier. So i took halberdier :D. I put it over the unused bard class in sacred stones.
  8. Lately, I've found my self doing alot of nightmare hacking in sacred stones. I had the idea to reverse everyone's class/weapon types based on slayer weapons. Since sword users have lanceslayers, they become a lance user. Every unit will now be what they were weak against! Even all of the enemies and bosses will have reversed weapons. Healers and archers are swapped as neither have weaknesses. I am open to all suggestions. Currently I am undecided on what ewan will be swapped to. I can't do dark because that will end up being the same as before.   10. So i want to make a character that's a cav, but only has use of lances. By default the cav class gives him a e in swords though. Is there a way to make him only use lances without making/altering a class?
  11. So will monster classes like the gorgon and cyclops be promoted ones? Since they do have stats like a promoted unit but have nothing to promote from. Gorgon egg doesnt really count :D
  12. It's fun being dumb klok! :D I did turn off animations for people who had this happen before i even saw your post. I just wanted to say what i thought was happening, but then again, idk how most of it works lol. Anyway, im just gonna patiently wait here for monster classes to be added in :D. Also cormag is impossible to get to if not a flier or brigand
  13. Just like every1 else, im getting random gleipnirs and statboosters. I just throw away the gleipnirs and attempt not to use too many stat boosters. Also erika is a dancer. :P And seth started with no weapons cause gleipnir, hes a sage with 2 healing staves and thats it EDIT: lol i re randomized, got no stat boosters but a few random hatchets and stuff. Also, presenting the archer run. Erika and gilliam are archers, yet erika is the male one and gilliam is the female archer. He also brought a fiend cleaver. It seems as though characters will get 2 items that work for them and then 2 random ones. BOTH GREAT KNIGHTS. I HAVE ARCHERS UP MY ANUS. WHAT A SUPRISE, FORDE IS AN ARCHER EDIT/NOTE: all units that are originally mages have magic instead of strength, but are still able to use the weapons like axes. They deal magic damage with non magic wepaons, i love it Alright heres the thing, by looking around in nightmare i found some things out. I believe that magic units being changed to non magic units result in them having magic instead of strength, as their actualy character is not edited but only what they appear as in the chapter. I think the characters classes themselvs will have to be changed. Example: Lute appears as a fighter in chapter 4. I go to the chapter unit data, and it says she is a fighter. I go to character data and it says that she is still a Mage (f). Also all magic characters that have been changed to a non magic class have bugged animations. They will always use the ranged magic based weapon animation for their class. In my case, Artur is a archer, so hes fine. He's a archer that does damage based on enemy res, which is cool. :D
  14. K, I finished, and i did the entire thing without being able to use my pirate on my turn, since their inventory was glitched or something, Mabey the potrait. I couldnt attack with the pirate without getting game over. Zel's ???????????? sword always killed himself in every part i attempted to use it. Also it always did.....69 damage. Not even joking bro. Made me think bout weapon ranges i guess. All i did was put the thief on the vilage and even the swordreavers couldnt hit him while Zel and glitched pirate went south. Managed to defeat boss last turn no problem with the thief. AHA?!? I went on to chapter 1 for lols, and found out iron blade is brave weapon lol. Love the trobudaur bandits

While your splices seem, um, decent, I will say that if this is supposed to be a harder gameplay hack, why even give us players the shitty casual version side of fe, with characters able to die once? Doesn't seem very rage inducing, and I could prob get around alot of lvls by sacrificing someone knowing they will come back. Guess I'll try out the prologue and be back in like 5 mins. EDIT: Use freaking mediafire, I don't appreciate you giving me stupid programs with your ips file. Also, all of the text at the start is completely broken, just a mumble of random letters and ????????????????s all over the place, but so far looks playable at least. Game resets when looking at pirates stats :/. Whatever Zel's third sword is is just a bunch of ?s again. Also, it seems when using the sword, the enemy has 125% chance to crit, and I don't know if this is intended but it seems to have devil reversal affect, but thats prob there cause its a 20MT sword on the start of the game. K, I think the prob with the pirate is his item, I cant even see what they are.
  16. umm, not sure about this but i think that colm having a lock pick and can steal was done in nightmare by editing his CHARACTER to have steal and pick, not the actual class. It works like that :D
  17. Heh, I'm already working on something that isn't a reskin, but if everytime i edit it in FEditor adv and forget to make a backup of the rom after doing so, and then loading the rom to find it broken. I should remember to make backups :D
  18. Although not much has gone into this, I've thought about making all of the characters from FE7 and FE6 have yellow eyes, implying they are all just morphs. Then, having Nergal in this world decided to make morphs of the strongest warriors he knows, Eliwood's army. Some morphs were a failure though, causing them to see reason and not want to fight for the Morph Eliwood, fighting for you replacing traitor characters like Natasha and Cormag with people like Ninian and Lyn, as those are the two that would most likely know if something was wrong with Lord Eliwood.
  19. So yeah this is one of those FE reskins that was done in some dude's spare time throughout his day. While I would love to spend said spare time working on completely redoing Fire Emblem: Project Juan, I would rather get some more nightmare, FEditor Adv, and scripting experience first. What better way to do it than take on the impossible hacking world of FE8? PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOTHING SERIOUS JUST PRACTICE FOR SOME GUY WHO HAS SPARE TIME... Also I plan on making this version of the game more challangin, but what FE8 reskin doesn't do that right?(GhebFE, Troll FE8.....)
  20. If I recall correctly, I was inserting them using sappy, but attempting to loop them by first converting it to a .s file and opening it in notepad. I would then go in and add a loop command or something where i wanted to loop the song. It never worked no matter how many tutorials rephrased it to me :/ I could always get the song in the game, its just after a while it would end cause there would be no loop.

  22. I do love my self some FE8, and worked on some shitty rebalance/reskins hack shit my self. I am actually currently working on a kinda big reskin thing for FE8 right now, but thats not why I'm here. I'm here to suggest that mabey you could make it so theres more than just one playable wyvernn rider in the damn game? Cormag I beleive, was the games only option of a playable Wyvern Lord and that kinda was crap.
