They do that during an Other Phase before I can get Eirika over there. (Too lazy to do Ephraim's route to see if it's any easier)
Gerik automatically comes as a Player unit in Ephraim's route. Tethys comes with him too, and Innes comes with Saleh where Dussel and Knoll usually appear.

Considering he reaches that 30 STR cap, and he gets good Speed and Skill.
Use Garcia support and a Killer Axe for the best results.

You trained a lot of units.
Props to that and using wendy and oujay, but I bench your wendy. Oujay is great save his lower defense.
Give fir another chance in HM, and make sure she gets at least 3+ str as a bonus. I do that, and she actually maxes str sometimes.
Some units are looking terrible (wolt, the calvary, ray) but some are good.
I arena abused, so I trained a lot of people (most people there were just filler characters, so I wasn't sad about having a non-full party) in the arenas. :D.

I agree with taking Myrrh out, and take Ewan out if you don't plan to tower abuse. Otherwise, just about anyone not named Ewan, Knoll, Dussel, Seth, Orson, Innes, or Syrene is good enough to use in this game.
