torifae
Does anyone know exactly how long does GBA cartridges last for?
CGV
It should last a while, but sometimes they get fucked up
Chalis
No kidding. My SS cartridge made a crazy loud noise (much higher than the DS can allow) and froze the game. Not me, but it's the same noise. Edited December 26, 2008 by Azel
Just call me AL
My dad says around five years or so on average. But I think it would also have to do with how long the game has been played. And shouldn't this thread belong in the "Other games" forum? Because it's seeming like it deals with cartridge based games in general. Not just FE. Edited December 26, 2008 by Staraptor
Wist
And shouldn't this thread belong in the "Other games" forum? Because it deals with cartridge based games in general. Not just FE.I think this will depend on whether or not the automatic suspend save feature of the Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem cartridges has a noticeable impact on battery life (unless torifae doesn't mean to refer only to Fire Emblem games). I don't know if this is the case, hopefully somebody does. Edited December 26, 2008 by Wist
Tamara
The internal battery should recharge whenever the Gameboy is turned on.
Loki Laufeyson
GBA carts depending on your care of them can last ages..i got FE when it came out and it still works fine (and i played that thing to death and back again)
Metal Rabbit
The battery is used whenever the game is saved. I have no idea if the auto-saving after every move you make takes any less power to do so.
Admiral "Bull" Halsey
I think it only matters depending on how you keep your game in good condition. But I had a Pokemon Sapphire game that died out of me one time because it wasn't unable to tell time anymore.
Yuli
Same with mines, but that happened when I accidently forgot to turn off the Gameboy SP. After recharging it, I got the message that the game has lost the time function.
Rei
All of my GBA carts work. And I'm even including from the release date... It all matters in the condition of the area or how you treat the carts. dust buildup, moisture, etc are all factors in the lifespan of your cart. Celice
Generally, unless you violently break the cart, the battery is the first thing to go. Just pop open the thing and put a new one in if that happens
