Yeeeah... I was looking through an old Nintendo Power magazine when I saw it. Was it the beta for FE6 or 7?

It was the beta type for FE6. I think the "the maiden of darkness" is Idoun.

Just take Fire Emblem with Super Mario RPG's graphics and you get "Fire Emblem: Maiden in the Dark BETA". Seriously, it looked like a RPG rather than just a SRPG.

Wher did you see that? Can you give a link?

Some speculate the first one is Klein (check the hair). Maybe the second was a really old version of Tate?

Otherwise, they could be anyone I guess.

Looks like Klein was going to be a Sage.

I think that the girl is some beta-type of Fir, though.

BETA Klein and BETA Tate/Fir looks really gay and that's sad seeing I don't use "gay" as an insult often. (inb4 politically correctness).

That was a beta pic I was looking for.

Is it this image? As in the only Maiden of Darkness screenshot that exists AFAIK.

WE never were to confirm what game it was from. All would have taken was is for IGN to upload the image to the wrong game they've done it before and nobody to notice and we get to today.

Still it is pretty feasable, the art style has similarities (not just the portraits but the speach boxes look like the FE 9 ones) though the necks seem a bit long...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I remember some site uploading a curious Rana (FE4 Priest) image for FE6, so I'd agree that it's possible for misdirected images.

(On a random note, when I first got into FE, that beta screenshot was one of the first images that I found. However, it would take many years later before I found out which game it came from- basically none of them, really...)
