Character choices?

I just wanna know how you decide on characters you use in games where there are multiple characters for you to use.

Do you use the best characters?

Do you use the worst characters?

Do you use the people with the most awesome personalities?

Personally I use the ones with the most awesome personalities, except if there's dragon(s) I WILL use it/them.

Personalities, unless the characters don't have personalities, I judge them on their looks. Same system I use in FE.

Looks/Personalities. Even if Generic Guy #7 is the most powerful guy in the game, I probably won't use him unless he looks cool and/or has an awesome personality. Of course, if he's the best character in the game, chances are he has both of those things anyway.

I use whoever is good unless their personality really sucks or if their personality is just too good, I'll use them
