Metal Rabbit
The arenas seem to be easier in this game, and by that I mean you get raped less. I also like that there are a good supply of them, cause not all my units get raised fairly.
Neko Arc Chaos
I dont use areanas in FE games that much (if at all) but I do find them very handy for leveling and proper raising in this one. Dr. Tarrasque
They're easier because the hit rates are quite high and are therefore, easier to predict the outcomes. Seeing critical hit rates on the enemy can quite a bitch though >_>.
Ϲharlie
I stuck Caesar in the arena and he died. Poor guy. That was the only time I used an arena in this game. They just aren't my cup of tea.
Neko Arc Chaos
The only time I have issues in the areana is when I send in a lower level myrmidon in there.
Dr. Tarrasque
Mages and Armor Knights had the most trouble for me. Specially Linde... 9/10 battles mean she'd end up dead. Freaking lame. Edited March 6, 2009 by Levin
Metal Rabbit
Yeah, they actually have to be able to fight before performing well in an arena. This game needs alot of babying... if you actually care enough to use those certain units.
_____
I tried to have Sedgar and Wolf use the arena at Port Warren. Not fun.
Knife
So far, I've had bad experiences in the arenas. NEVER use Archers/Hunters in there.
Dr. Tarrasque
Snipers and Hunters had an easy time in the arena for me.
thanibomb
I put Caesar and Raddy in the arena and they died. D:
Lifeshroom
I put Caesar and Raddy in the arena and they died. D: lol me too, radd got 2hkoed by a mercenary because of criticals. Haven't been back since.
Yuli
I usually have very good outcomes if I send my strong units in there. Weak units just die too fast. D:
Kiba
I used it twice for sedgar and never used it again
thanibomb
lol me too, radd got 2hkoed by a mercenary because of criticals. Haven't been back since. Haha. I'm too lazy to move my units to the arenas (they are always so far away from your party!). Raddy and Caesar just happened to appear close to one and I wanted to try it out... and they failed. :/
Metal Rabbit
So far, I've had bad experiences in the arenas. NEVER use Archers/Hunters in there. I used Sheeda as an archer in the arena and she was fine. Her speed was almost capped though.
Tamara
Archers/snipers often get slow enemies with low accuracy, so they only need a bit of luck to win. Out of all the people I threw in the arena, hero Sedgar died most often :(
Taho
The arenas worked fine after a sorry attempt by Wolf (who died in the process). If you go there with a weak character, just refuse all fights higher than 600. If he's getting slightly better, then go up to 700. I never let any of my characters, even promoted, go for a fight higher than 1000, just to be safe. I made tons of experience this way and was able to up characters that were way behind (and I tell you, Linde rocks as a lv 20 sage :P )
Tamara
The high paying matches aren't always the hardest ones. IIRC 1500 gold for a hero means he'll be fighting some warrior with 40% accuracy.
grandjackal
Remember the first Altea battle? The Samson or Arran map? Imagine you get through that annoying piece of a map...have someone rock the arena to top off the experience he got to level up...and wouldn't you know a sorcerer criticals with 1 percent chance and OHKOs on the first counter... I fucking hate that map.
Mekkah
On H5, it seemed my Merc Barst just couldn't beat anything in the arena, except for Mages, since he could survive one hit from them with single digit HP, and in the meantime he got to hit them thrice (and he needed all three of those hits). One time, he failed to double a Mage and died anyway. The great thing was that you could usually recognize a Mage by <1000G bets, but those are rare since there's also like 10 other enemy class possibilities, and sometimes you'd even bump into a Knight or something when taking a low bet. I dunno which difficulty arena you guys are talking about, but the H5 one is absolutely unfair.
riariadne
lol me too, radd got 2hkoed by a mercenary because of criticals. Haven't been back since. Radd usually gets 2hko'd without criticals. For me, I don't care since I wasn't going to use him anyway. He was sacrificed so I can recruit Horace soon.
Nestling
A trained General Sedgar in the arena. Not fun.
dondon151
I dunno which difficulty arena you guys are talking about, but the H5 one is absolutely unfair. I haven't gotten a single wager that anyone could win yet...
Dr. Tarrasque
I dunno which difficulty arena you guys are talking about, but the H one is absolutely unfair. Most likely the normal mode arena. I'm never trying H5 arena, I like the mode the way it is and abusing will just make things too easy.
