The waves do tend to get rougher at night. And your lucky to have had that experience as I would like to have that at least once. Don't look. Don't peek. Please. The ocean at night looks like a black hole. Scary. I go by that environment every now and then out of curiosity. It's a tad unnerving yes, and I just happen to live on an island.
