I grew up on the NES/SNES/PSX so FF6 fits closer to my childhood, I played part of it on the SNES and then got anthology. Per childhood, I would say mine has never quite ended since I maintain the philosophy of naivete despite recognizing it as probably unworkable. You have to wait for it to swish to the left and then hop up quickly and over, IIRC, but it's not like I'm going back to it so I don't recommend that you do. If the former, you're way more dedicated than I am to beating games like this. If I can't figure out at least somewhat what I'm supposed to be doing and it's a 2d game I get apathetic pretty easily. Left was the flag, but spikes were to thick to get through. Right was some other obstacles I couldn't figure out how to get past, spiky bricks IIRC.
