Besides, Emboar can use Scald and Frillish is immune to all of Audino's offensive moves, making it painless to train. I thought you had to use Rollout IMMEDIATELY after Defense Curl? Emboar with Scald sounds like little more than a gimmick... And like I said, Most of the good non-starter waters weren't until late. I'm positive the boost remains in effect for the duration of the fight. I don't think you can boost it more than once however. I can buy Darmanitan and Sawk, but I hardly felt Water was even useful.
