Pride
So I live next to this Air Force base, right? And in all my years living here I haven't had any real interference from the place besides Charge at 7:00 AM and Taps at 7:30 PM. But today my sister was listening to the radio and was all, "Dude, I can hear what the jet pilots are saying!" and I'm like "That's bullshit." But you know what? It was true. Go figure. CassieCinders
1998, Liam Neeson as the lead. Oh God... I hate it. They cut Enjolras AND Eponine. AND The Thénardiers. and those are like 4 principals in the book and musical. They give Marius the role of revolutionary leader, while he doesn't even care for it in reality. They make valjean hit Cosette, and the actual Valjean would NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER do that. *rantrantrant* I don't like it, but it can be decent if you odn't know the story well =/

CassieCinders
Okay then. So... What version would you suggest? 1934 1958 1982 2000 miniseries (with Gerard Depardieu, best version) Shojo cosette, the anime. It's a really good adaption. TheEnd
Shojo cosette, the anime. It's a really good adaption. I thought you hadn't watched even half of it.
Pride
No I haven't. Then it's on the way.
CassieCinders
I thought you hadn't watched even half of it. Yet I can safely say that it's a really good adaption. That must mean something, no? Anyway, they're faithful to the story and don't remove crucial things, nor add stupid things.

I really recommend the series. But the 1958 movie is very strong too. If you watch the series, I recommend french with english subtitles. The english version cuts a lot of scenes that I really liked in the French

Waitwhat. You read Les Mis? AND THE MUSICAL IS FUCKING GREAT! And there's no waterloo in it. Actually, the book could manage by cutting 14/15th of the Waterloo section
