riariadne Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) So we start the game and dadada nobody really cares until we get to chapter 6 and you get this guy called Rath who is pretty good, let's see what his stats look like: Rath level 7 nomad HP:25 str:8 skl:9 spd:10 luk:5 def:7 res:2 w/ Iron bow: 25HP Atk:14 AS:10 Hit:105 Crit:4 Avo:25 That's pretty good. Let's compare him with a good unit like Sain, he's probably lv ~5 by now Sain lv 5 cavalier HP:22.2 str:10.4 skl:5.4 spd:7.6 luk:5.4 def:6.8 res:0.8 w/ Iron lance 22.2HP atk:17.4 AS:7.6 hit: 93.5 crit:2.7 Avo:17.9 w/ Iron sword 22.2HP atk:15.4 AS:7.6 hit:103.5 crit:2.7 Avo:17.9 rath beats sain by 2.8 hp, 3.6 skl, 2.4 spd, .2 def and 1.2 res. sain wins by str 2.4 .4 luk (lulz). pretty good. rath prbably only gets like 2 levels in lyn mode though but he is very useful there. He is basically Lyn mode's Marcus, since he doubles and ORKOs everything while most other units fail to do so. Sure that's not saying much but he helps tactics and combat rank there if you're having trouble on those. now we go to chapter 11 and we get dorcas back from lyn mode and this new fighter "Batre the brave". gee let's see how he joins. Batre Fighter lv2 hp:29 str:9 skl:5 spd:3 luk:4 def:4 res:0 w/ Iron axe 29HP atk:17 AS:3 hit:87 crit:2 Avo:8 wow, look at that spd. it's lower than fighter base, lulz. as a result he has awful As and avo. if batre doesn't get that speed up not only will he have issues doubling he might even be doubled by some enemies. Yes he has hand axe but he's so awful with Batre will get better though, I won't lie. He does fairly well after his speed stops failing. Moving on to whatever chapter it is that Rath joins in. I forget the name. He's level ~9 while Bartre is probably like... level 20? unpromoted since other people want a Hero's Crest (Raven & Guy come to mind) and I don't think you can buy them yet. Let's compare... (I don't know what affinity's give what bonuses so I won't mention supports yet, I'll just assume Batre is better than I show here) Batre Fighter lv20 HP:44.3 Str:18 Skl:11.3 Spd:10.2 Luk:9.4 Def:9.4 Res:4.5 w/ Iron Axe 44.3HP atk:26 AS:10.2 Hit:102.3 crit:5.65 avo:29.8 w/ Steel Axe 44.3HP atk:29 AS:8.2 Hit:92.3 crit: 5.65 avo:25.8 w/ Killer Axe 44.3HP atk:29 AS:10.2 Hit:92.3 crit:35.65 avo:29.8 w/ Hand Axe 44.3HP atk:25 AS:10.2 Hit:87.3 crit:5.65 avo:29.8 Actually his speed is still pretty bad, lv 20 with 10.2 speed? Ouch. It's even worse if he wants to use Steel Axe cuz of weight and he won't always get Killer Axe since they're high in demand. Most of the time Batre will be stuck with Iron Axe.
