Just a unique class so I can have my Etrian Odyssey thing that I am somewhat known for. What class is that similar to in FE? General probably. Protector skills are mostly there to reduce damage for your party members, sometmes even take damage for them. Hell, their force skill is the equivalent of Big Shield for the entire party for 1 turn.
