CrashGordon94
Hero, cut it out, that sort of nitpicking is stupid and annoying, even as a joke.

Parrhesia
Before Common Era. Very possibly one of the more pretentious ways of stating your lack of religious beliefs :P Edited January 17, 2010 by The Ferret Whisperer

Parrhesia
No, I mean BCE. It's a stand-in for BC, yes. The equivalent of AD is CE (Common Era).

CrashGordon94
Don't insult that which you don't know. I know perfectly, you're butthurt about the correct terms being based on Christianity, so you PC-ify it. That sort of practice makes me sick! <_<
Parrhesia
Riiiiight...it's not about being PC, I just think you're taking it personally that I choose to date things differently. It's not as if I'm alone, either.

Parrhesia
...You're taking a method of dating kinda seriously, aren't you? Well, you do have a guy called 'Dr. Steel' on your side. Seriously, it's true.

Seriously, it's true. Yes, I am, and here's why: This "Common Era" was based on OUR beliefs, so I think we'll decide what you call it. Parrhesia
There are two ways I could take that to saying; One) It's up to the individual. In that case, why the hell are you arguing with me about it? Two) You and Doctor Duncan Steel are going to force me to use the terms AD/BC. This...is ridiculous. Elaborate. This "Common Era" was the birth of Jesus Christ hence Before Christ and Anno Domini, so you should call it as such.

Parrhesia
'Course not. So because I've apparently forced my beliefs onto you (please explain how) you're gonna force me into YOUR preference. Sure.
CrashGordon94
'Course not. So because I've apparently forced my beliefs onto you (please explain how) you're gonna force me into YOUR preference. Sure. It's not a matter of preference, it's a matter of being correct or incorrect. It was BC/AD when it started, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to change it. When BC/AD started to be used, obviously. I think that's pretty obvious
