Hello, my name is Deretsun.

No, not pronounced Deret sun. Think Japanese romaji, can't? well whatever.

Favorite FE is PoR, though Blazing Sword is also up there.

Played through 6-10, attempted 4, and 11.

Other interests include anime, manga, touhou, videogames, and go.

No, go is not a typo, its a strategic board game similar to chess, except better (not biased)

My blog, if anyone is interested

that is all.

This can be considered spam you know

His post is fine on this board and need I remind you of this?

2. Please avoid minimodding. This entails reminding others of the rules or guidelines, or telling them they've broken them.

Welcome Deretsun.

You know, I'm digging these FE chara smilies! They're a real hit!

:KnollRoll::Amelia::Eirika::Roy: who made these? Genius!

Also, am confused at Kai, or am I confusing him? Dunno.

Thanks for the welcomes.

A guy who went by the name "Tent" made them for another board. When that board "closed," the icons and such were passed on to here.

Also, welcome.

I didn't do a very good job stalking since you found out so quick :(

But yeah, through the stalking, I was able to figure out you like touhou. I love touhou too. It actually topped FE as my favorite game series.

It goes something like Touhou > FE = Pokemon > Zelda > Other stuff

Though my favorite game of all time is Chrono Trigger,

...which is not much of a series, since theres like two games based on it...

FE5 scares me :(

what with the fatigue system, my failure with finding patches, fabled difficulty...

also, needs to play FE4 before FE5.

The Fatigue system isn't that bad. The character just needs a lot of HP... But I think everything(except for waiting) builds fatigue... And it isn't that hard when you get going.

If you want to play in chronological order the best way to do it would be to beat the first generation and Chapter 6(First chapter of the second generation) and then play FE5 and beat it before finishing the rest of the second generation. Since the events of chapters 7-Endgame happen after FE5.

I'm obviously not being that anal about the whole thing. Plus I've never played either of them, so I wouldn't know exactly when to switch to the other game, etc. plus the whole thing is quite ridiculous.

It just seemed right to me to play FE4 before FE5 because 4 < 5 and they are a part of the same universe.

Playing FE4 before FE5 is only relevant if you care so much about the story >>

And FE5 isn't scary at all. You're just too used to the other FE games, that's all >>

And there is a translation patch on the main site. (as well as those for FE2, 3, 4, and 6)

All the more reason to play 4 before 5 then, I really don't see the issue here.

But about the patches...

omg, they were right below my nose O_O

Well then, play the games the way you want to play.

FE4 is pretty easy for the most part. If you do your pairings right the second generation is totally easy. And Sigurd can easily roflstomp the first generation

FE5 is pretty hard, it's mainly the RNG that contributes to the difficulty although this game loves to throw 5000 ballistae along with some ridiculous enemies at you as well. Don't let it intimidate you though.
