fatgamecat
I'd like to direct your attention to Elven Legacy, an SRPG for the PC. It's a very fun game and it has a nice challenge level if you go for the best rank on hard difficulty. It's also on sale for a couple days and you can get the game plus all its expansions for $15 - 77 missions and 4 campaigns. Definitely worth the impulse buy if you love SRPGs and fantasy based tactical combat. Yes it is a true SRPG where units persist through combat, grow in experience, and you have to keep everyone alive. On sale here: http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-ELC/elven-legacy-collection-bundle Guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/952342-elven-legacy/faqs/59985 My review: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/952342-elven-legacy/reviews/review-141079 Gamespot review: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/elvenlegacy/review.html If you give it a try let me know what you think of it. I really enjoyed it myself. Edited July 23, 2010 by mjemirzian
Narga_Rocks
Glancing at the images on gamefaqs it looks more like an RTS. I love those, too, of course, but just sayin'. I'd define SRPG as giving individual commands to each unit and then they go and do something. Think Bahamut's Lagoon, Fire Emblem, FFTA (not sure about the other FFTs, but I'd assume so), Shining Force (also a Gamecube game called Gladius, if anyone has ever heard of it). That type of thing. And in each of those, you can only issue commands when it is their "turn", and turns are either set up where you make all your units go, then the enemy, then you, or like Shining Force and FFTA where the order is based on speed of the units. Is it more Warcraft (not WoW) or Fire Emblem? Edited July 23, 2010 by Narga_Rocks

You can go into the options and speed up the animations to almost instant.
Narga_Rocks
I was looking at images like this http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/952342-elven-legacy/images/gs_screen-3 and this http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/952342-elven-legacy/images/gs_screen-19 and it looked more akin to RTS than SRPG, but the video (at least the first bit that I actually looked at) you posted certainly shows it to be an SRPG.
