Abel and Cain: Still worth it in NEMS?

Their growths have been improved overall, but do they look as good as the buffed Cecil/Luke/Rody? Are they now outclassed by the new recruits?

Cain is good, but isn't as good as the new guys, since he has less availibility. Still, he is salvagable to use unlike most units.

Abel on the other hand, has potential but comes too late to help and is pretty much dead-weight. He's also pre-premoted, which could kill his stat potential.

Abel: He comes in the same chapter as Est.

Which isn't as late but still pretty late.

Also he has semi decent growths, but won't live up to FESD Abel.

Cain: Yes! Cain is perfectly usable, and even great if you don't mind not training one of your starting cavs. He's also available for a bit in the prologue, which is nice.

Not in the topic title but Frey retains his greatness too.

In short.

Cain: Yes!

Frey: Yes!

Abel: Not really, but still useable.

Depends, we talking about normal mode or lunatic?

Normal: Cain is viable. Abel might be a tad weak, since leveling speed is not the same as it was in FE3.

Lunatic: Cain struggles. Abel's unusable.

Abel's pretty amazing by pre-promote standards, but he has very little availability to show that. He has very slightly better averages than Sirius, and I emphasise very slightly. Which means he pretty much isn't worth it seeing as Sirius has far superior playtime.

I'd recommend Abel in a pre-promotes only playthrough, or if you hate Sirius for some reason. Otherwise no.
